I found Grout Doctor through an internet search for someone to clean and "restore" (re-grout, re-caulk, etc) our shower. When I submitted an inquiry to get a free estimate, they called me almost immediately and had it set up within a few days. They were kind and helpful with scheduling and mentioned that their franchise is family owned (I spoke to Christine and her son David did the estimate). The estimate process was super easy, quick, and clear. David came and took a look, discussed what we wanted to have done, and then sent the estimate that same afternoon. As soon as we approved they contacted us for scheduling, which was within a week of the estimate. Alan came to do the work today and it is difficult for me to express how good of a job he did. He worked so hard nearly all day and was absolutely meticulous in his process. It looks like we had a brand new shower put in. We could not be happier. Pros: - quick to return inquiry calls - communication was good despite the phone tag challenge - quick at sending over somebody to do a job estimate. David was nice and helpful at explaining things. Also, he was on time! Cons: and the reason why I cancelled the job despite a good first impression: * I had a written job order with price and description on it. $225 for recalling a small bathroom shower and installing the door sweep (which I bought myself). I thought it's a little steep but I wouldn't really know how much it costs cuz they're the only ones I inquired from. So, I went ahead and scheduled/confirmed the date. Then later, I received an email from Christine that says "I'm changing the price to our daily minimum of $250" but the job description remains the same. I wonder why this was not discussed when I called to schedule and I'm being surprised by a random price increase for the same job I got priced for. I ended up cancelling as I think it was ridiculous and unprofessional that the prices just shifted randomly. read more

I was able to schedule an appointment for tile repair and regrouting/grout staining of the flooring in my foyer and kitchen with little to no delay. In addition, the skillset and knowledge of the team that worked on my floors was superior and the result was beyond expectations. I reached out to grout doctor and they were initially very responsive. They sent a representative out (David) to look at the job on June 1. David was kind and seemed knowledgeable. He talked through 2 different types of quotes he planned to send over in detail. A whole month went by. On July 1 I had not heard back from them. I followed up about my quote and got a response from Christine saying: "The work that you are requesting I would recommend a handyman. They will be able price better. Sorry we will not be able to complete your project". My biggest complaint is that no one ever reached out to me to let me know that they were no longer interested in taking my job. I waited a month to hear back and really wanted to go with this company based on reviews from friends. If they would have simply communicated with me, I could have hired someone else in a months time. I was being patient for a company who had already decided that they didn't want to take the work. David came out on a Wed and gave me an honest estimate at a great price. Although he explained this work couldn't be scheduled till after XMAS I explained (And then showed him the hole in my kitchen ceiling from the leak that was being caused by the upstairs shower. Got a call a short time later asking if I was available to have work done on the upcoming Saturday. Vince came out at 10 AM Saturday and left at 8 PM He did a fantastic job that satisfied me but made the wife extremely happy. I'd highly recommend them. read more

I write Yelp reviews only in situations wherein companies either knock it out of the park or totally fall on their face. Our master bathroom shower was in need of some solid re-caulking and a bit of regrouting based on five years of time and not a little bit of mold, so we solicited offers from a few regrouting places. The Grout Doctor was definitely not the cheapest, but Richard had some compelling customer experience cases, so we decided to trust them and pay a little extra. With that said, Vince came out and worked (::sweated) himself to death. As usual with our home improvement projects, things went sideways, and Vince not only handled the issues with panache, but was clearly communicative about different approaches to solving the problems while being considerate of our time and money. I really can't say enough about how much we appreciate Vince's hard work, and our shower looks like new. The Grout Doctor is absolutely worth paying a little extra for, and I hope they're paying Vince a little extra as well! read more

We had a poor installation done on our master bathroom floor tiles. The tiles were not set properly and would move when we walked on them, which caused the grout to crack and come out. I called grout doctor hoping they could do something. Richard whom I believe is the owner came out to assess the situation. I thought we might have to remove the floor and do everything over again which would've been a huge job. However, he told me they could inject some type of glue through the grout lines and underneath the tiles, which would set the tiles in place. Then they would regrout the floors. Very honest which I appreciate greatly. It's so hard to find honest contractors. I decided to move forward. Alex and Eric came by to do the job. They were both fantastic. They wore masks and shoe covers, worked fast and cleaned up very well. The floor looks brand new and at a fraction of the cost of redoing it. I couldn't be happier. We had an issue in our bathrooms with our light grey grout on the floor discoloring due to traffic/water and the builders using an off white grout with white tile. As a young woman bringing him into my home alone before my husband got home, I always appreciate when someone makes me feel at ease and not the least bit pressured. They were flexible about working with my schedule for the estimate, the quote was provided quickly (at a reasonable price), and they were readily available for follow up questions. We were about to hire them when unexpected health problems (and the costs that accompany them) arose - they were gracious when we had to delay service indefinitely. The owner Richard came out to do the estimate. He was very professional as he explained the problem and broke down the cost, and I felt he was a relatable and trustworthy person to do business with. We had two shower/tub areas regrouted and recaulked as part of a renovation effort for two bathrooms - both turned out great. The technician also colorized the floor tile grout in one bathroom and this was done very well.
