We expected it to be packed, but we were seated right away. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded or noisy, which made it easy to relax, enjoy our meal, and actually have a conversation. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and professional. I wish I had gotten her name before we left because she provided great service throughout our visit. I started with the iced lavender oat milk latte, and it was delicious. We also shared the famous monkey bread, and it definitely lives up to all the hype I've seen online! We ordered it with both the cream cheese and caramel, and it was amazing. The monkey bread was incredibly soft, fresh, and the portion was huge. I've had monkey bread at other local coffee shops before, but the texture here is on a completely different level. For breakfast, I ordered the French toast, and it was made well. I appreciated that it wasn't overloaded with whipped cream. My husband liked the crispy bacon and his chocolate chip pancakes he said they were rich and fluffy. We'll definitely be back. Everything from the food and atmosphere to the service exceeded our expectations. This place is simply too good not to return!

My go-to was always the hash, and I was surprised to find it's made with salmon now. I won't say the change from the roast beef is better, but the new version is definitely delicious in its own right. That candied salmon or whatever they do to it was *chef's kiss* The counter service was friendly, but they were packed. It was hard to find a place, and my food was a little slow in coming. But -- and I never say this -- it was good enough to be worth the wait. They didn't have the hand pies when I was there, but I can never pass up that pastry case, so I finally tried a famous cinnamon roll. Good, but nothing to write home about. I'm glad to see The Buttered Tin still thriving. I'll probably be stopping by any time I make it back to the area.

Today I also ordered the cinnamon roll, and it was surprisingly good. I would say that it's almost a cross between a cinnamon roll and a caramel roll. They allow you to choose if you want the cream cheese frosting on it, and I opted in just to get the full effect. The roll ended up being good enough without the frosting that I would order it that way if I came again. The reason I gave four instead of five stars is because I came on a weekend about a month ago, and they had a clunky system for the line that made for a not-so-great experience. When you get inside there is supposed to be someone asking you how many people are in your party and if you would like a table. I was unaware of this and jumped in line like I normally would. Once I got to the front of the line they told me that I budged the people behind me (who were sitting down looking at the menu when I arrived), and that they could not take my order and did not have a seat for me. The women behind me let them know that I did not budge them, but the employee said that I was supposed to chat with the line manager before jumping in line (although he was not there for the whole time I waited in line and showed up only after I started to order). This happened a little while ago, so I am hoping that by now they have the line/ordering/getting a table weekend system perfected by now. That experience put a sour taste in my mouth, but I do understand that things happen and I do think the food is good here - that is why I gave it another chance today. The restaurant is pretty big but can get busy on weekends. It's nice, clean and modern. There is only street parking, but if you're willing to walk a block I have always found a place to park.

The food is locally sourced as much as possible and the meals were fantastic. Portion sizes are generous and you're able to order breakfast or lunch anytime. We went back a second time this week after a routine veterinary appointment. The same information applies to this visit too. We met and talked with the owners both visits and they are friendly, knowledgeable and seem to really enjoy their work. Dogs are allowed on the patio (enclosed and heated) although my dogs stayed in the car this time. We ordered scones to take away on visit two. Baked fresh right before I ordered and they smell and taste wonderful.
