The menu is pretty extensive, but it offers a variety of options for any kind of omnivore. Then when you get you food and eat it. I honestly forgot my problems for a couple ministers the food was that good. The bread was crusty but soft. The meats packed the sandwiches. My mom got a Rueben. She said in her 70 plus years of life and many travels across the country, that was the best. She also had the sweet potato fries and again crunchy outside and soft inside with a cinnamon maple dipping sauce. I got the Liberty Street and wow. Just so delicious. WOW!! I literally just drove 2 and a half hours from Northern Virginia today JUST to finally try their AMAZING cheesesteaks. Seriously. That's how good they are. This is the best cheesesteak you are going to get outside of Philly. No question about it. I've spent the last couple years trying to find all the best phillys in the DC/MD/South Central PA area and this one takes the cake. It only took 7 years, but I finally found a good cheesesteak. Great bread, great meat...whole wonderful package.

Their menu is quite extensive. But its hard not to go for their daily special. Previously, I would follow up what I had for lunch or dinner with their homemade rice pudding. But since the hot weather hit they have been offering a sweet treat in the form of a donut ice cream sandwich. It is just the perfect size after a meal. The staff is courteous and helpful. I have never seen them get short with anyone, no matter how busy they get. If I have to wait a little for my food, I play the pinball machine, strategically place in the foyer, so not to bother the other patrons. And though I don't do often, it is nice to know, that at the end of my day and if I am not driving, I can get a beer from next door and have it with my meal. read more

I had heard great things about their food for years and wanted to try it. When I called in my order, the person I spoke with was extremely rude and kept cutting me off. I was searching for lunch while in Lancaster visiting my sister this weekend. I was drawn in by the names of the sandwiches when i stumbled across this restaurant on yelp. When we arrived it was a little hard to find based on where the GPS takes you, but when we arrived we were greeted by the guy at the register and he was very friendly. My sister and i ordered the Pittsburgh Hoagie and substituted the steak with chicken with no problem and my husband order a buffalo chicken wrap. Of course i tried the wrap as well but everything was really delicious!! The Pittsburgh sandwich exceeded my expectations and the fries reminded me of the state fair fries. Just finished one of the Grille's wonderful sandwiches, the South Street. Good steak, good cheese, onions and peppers, sauce is just the right amount. Roll texture was very good as always. In previous visits I've enjoyed the Manhattan, the Bensonhurst and the Hell's Kitchen. All their sandwiches are great! So are the cheesesteaks. And their fries are the best I've had since Jersey boardwalk fries many years back. You can't beat this place for a great meal. read more

First time here tonight and we have been meaning to stop here for a while to try the food based on recommendations. We were not in the slightest bit disappointed. We got a whiz wit (passyunk they call it) cheesesteak with cheese wiz and onions and a small fry. 1st time customer. My neighbor lady told me to try this place, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I was NOT disappointed. I had the South Street sandwich which was AWESOME. Fresh bread, good marinara sauce and plenty of meat. The green peppers really give it that extra flavor. As for the fries... although I'm not a fan of shoestring fries, I found myself grabbing more and more of them. They were cooked "firmly", but there were plenty of them. 2 sandwiches, 1 small fry, & 2 drinks over $21 but it was pretty good. Honestly. I don't know how this place gets so many good reviews. Moved to Lancaster from chester county a year ago and was looking for take out places that were quick for me incase work ran late and were good for my family. Heard through next door this was a good place so decided to check it out. Been here twice and can't see the appeal, their cheesesteak meat is bland and their fries are a grease pit! Honestly, I don't think they strain the grease off from the fryer before they put them in the bag and they taste like old oil. Had cheesesteaks here after a bad experience at Samdwich Factory and the meat had no flavor at all. Went here a second time on a random weekend night for myself and family. Branches out since my mother raved about their burgers, told the guy at the counter "well done" both burgers for my mom and I were raw, barely even cooked and my Dad's steak sandwich wasn't right. I get off days but twice in a row is old. Won't come back here if pay me! Plenty of other places around do better for food. As for service, it seems like a college kid joint, most of the time the kids at the counter seem attentative but I've seen on here about a few bad eggs and i bet they aren't around anymore. And i don't think i've ever seen the owner of this place either. More then likely i'll never go here again. read more

Looking for something for lunch and decided to try this place out....I can say they have a pretty decent sized menu to choose from for a sandwich shop, which is good for picky eaters like me :) The staff working was very friendly and the food came out pretty fast. When it came to the food it was not bad at all. I had gotten the "Central Park" which was loaded with turkey, which was not dry like some places, and the honey mustard gave it a good, different taste. My bf had gotten hte Flat Iron which he liked the sandwich, but for him he was not a fan of the bread since he likes "Thick" sub rolls. On 2/24 at approximately 7:55pm, I entered The Grille, smiled at the cashier/order taker and said hello. She turned around and whispered something to the cook. Following that, she picked up her phone, appeared to be sending a text message and put her phone down. She still has said nothing to us at this point. After standing there looking at the menu for approximately one minute, the cook came up to the window and said "sorry man, we close in 3 minutes and I have the grill off." I am not writing this review because they were closing (I get it, everyone wants to go home on a friday), but because of the rude attitude I received from the cashier. Very hard to find but once there it is a very good sub shop. It is on the side of a strip mall and the entrance is shared with a beer store. Kinda scary looking and my suggestion is if they had a better location they would do much better. Once in, the subs are served on a nice fresh roll. Cheese steaks are better than in Philly. If I could give 0 stars I would! We ordered delivery from the grille and we waited an hour and a half. It still wasn't delivered so we decided to call in. They were not even apologetic and just said they got busy and hadn't even started making it yet. I used to go there all the time and I heard Bill isn't running it anymore and honesty after this I plan on never eating there again.
