Review of gift shop only. When I hear the term gift shop I'm never sure what to expect. Could be cheap trinkets or expensive shiny baubles. Or books. Or stuffed animals. Or clothing. Etc etc. Walking in here is a treat. If you are in the area you should make a point of visiting. There are a number of rooms and even a lower level. All sorts of things. Many locally made. Gorgeous blankets. Very nice costume jewelry. Funny book options. The requisite ski related things, it's VT afterall. I've only been here in the VT "off season" - otherwise known as Summer. So there were some sales both years I was around. I picked up some cute costume jewelry and some locally handmade baby items for a gift. I wanted to buy some of the cookbooks, but I held back, how many do I need? Easy parking. 51/R-a-D Challenge

An exceptional and uniquely intimate place to stay: From the moment you walk into the main lobby of the Greenbrier Inn, you feel like you are in the capable and comforting hands of people you know and people you can trust to take care of you like their own family. You aren't just getting an immaculately kept, cozy and rustic setting to spend the weekend or longer. You are also getting a genuine warmth from the entire staff and a feeling that the authentic decorations aren't just a facade meant to trick you into an experience. There's nothing fake about any of it. Even if there might be a certain tackiness to elements of the decor, you understand what the intended effect is, and you quickly buy into it. You feel like everything is backed up by genuinely friendly and caring people and ultimately a family business you feel happy to be giving business to. At the end of the day it's not very complicated to execute a solid accommodation, but as anyone whose stayed more than a few places knows, its apparently not that easy, or rather too easy to overlook some of the simple factors. In my opinion, these include politeness, cleanliness, comfort and attentiveness. The Greenbrier Inn not only checks off these boxes, but makes a serious, notable effort to go above and beyond in at least few. The rooms and building are consistently clean and comfortable, but the staff's kindness and attentiveness towards its guests is on another level. And they do this in a way that does not feel invasive or overbearing whatsoever. It's the language that they use, and their constant yet subtle reminders that they are there for you should you need anything, that put your mind at rest and frankly make you feel like you are a guest in someone's home, as well as that you are the only guest that matters. These are people you sincerely want to thank, return to in the future, and reciprocate kindness to and that is a rarity even in the smaller accommodation industry. Its not that everyone else is doing something wrong, but rather that The Greenbrier Inn is just doing it better, and it seems to come naturally for them. From the moment you come down the stairs in advance of a day full of skiing, and are met with a complimentary, hearty continental breakfast in Greenbrier's beautiful dining area, to the moment you stumble through their doors sore from the slopes and the manager Steve inquires about the summary of your day before you return to a finely turned-over room, you are thinking about the next available opportunity to vacation here again. The wonderful, three floor, Greenbrier Inn Gift Shop, full of artisan crafts, classic vermont memorabilia and everything in between is just icing on top of the cake. Without fail, several times during your stay, you'll hear the hotel manager, Steve, say "Make yourself at home". He says it because he means it, and I can say without a doubt, that's exactly how you'll feel. So make yourself at home at The Greenbrier Inn if you find yourself heading to Killington VT anytime soon. You won't regret it.

BEDBUGS
Jose M.

So i started off this lovely solo weekend at what seemed to be a nice quiet inn very close to the killington mountain. However on my last day i found a bed bug, i discreetly notified front desk staff and showed them. Immediately i began to feel dismissed, they assured me it was a tick or anything other then what it was. In fact a bed bug. We went back and forth over photos of the critter and i was reluctant to cause a scene as it's just not in my nature. Shortly after i left the owner called me to assure me nothing else was found in the room and even implied i could have brought the bug in myself. Being in quarantine for over a year at this point i was deeply insulted & knew i would be getting nowhere with this gentleman, as he even scoffed as i mentioned a measly 1-200$ in cleaning fees. Meanwhile i had all my clothes laundered, my car detailed, and my home cleaned PRIOR to me arriving home. As i would not want to bring these back with me into my apt building. The longest 5 hour drive of my life. Now I'm being told through Expedia my booking agent that i can't get a refund as per hotel policies. What the f does that mean? So i figure the least i can do is spare any future visitors the unpleasantries i faced. Please note, if the owner is denying any further pests, that means he will likely not be treating the rooms. So future visitors are in for a treat. Safe travels

It is absolutely magical. When I walked in a sent of fall spices surrounded me. It is a great place for alone time. At the moment maybe there are 5 guests. Hotel is clean and the gentleman that we park here are super helpful. Due to covid breakfast is minimal.

What a lovely and welcoming place that is!! Myself and my husband Adam drove to Killington from NYC and stayed at Greenbrier Inn for 4 nights. The owner Steven and his son Otto are just the loveliest people. It's good to see well run family business. The place is cosy with some nice highland features and a lovely fireplace in a main dining area. Rooms come with basic breakfast: cereals, bagels, English muffins, cream cheese, jams, yogurts, simple fruit, coffee and tea. In fact coffee and tea is available all day long with home made cookies on Saturday. They also provide oat bars for the slopes. Nice touch! You can purchase discounted ski tickets at the front desk. Our room was specious with large comfortable bed and enough room for all our stuff. It also came with a nice little balcony. I would not hesitate to recommend this charming little hotel to anyone! It's not a luxuries spot but it has all you need. And it's location is within minutes drive to either Killington or Pico resorts. Thank you so much for such warm welcome.

Such a cute gift shop

This is the cutest gift shop I have ever found! I have passed it a million times and have never thought to go in and check it out until my boyfriends mother let me in on this hidden gem. They have everything from jewelry to home decor to witty little coffee table books. The outside of this store really hides a large hidden gem inside with 3 layers of amazing selections. If you are in the area looking for a unique gift you have to come in here! I picked up a beautiful necklace for an extremely reasonable price. Amazing gift shop!

Pictures are of the breakfast/hang out area/upper lobby.

Pico Mountain

This place is a masterclass in neglect. The ski infrastructure is severely dilapidated, outdated,…read moreand constantly breaking down. Lifts stop, crawl, or fail outright. The lifties are nice, but they're stuck managing equipment that should've been replaced years ago. Reddit skiers have been saying the same thing for years: "lifts constantly down," "painfully slow," and "not worth the ticket price." Many warn you'll spend more time waiting than skiing. Alta has zero incentive to invest with Killington right up the road doing everything better. Calling this a "ski resort" is generous. If you value your time or money, drive by and keep going.

Met a great friend there after an hours travel. Although the trip to Pico adds another 20 minutes…read moreto my schedule, it was well worth it. Pico is a separate part of Killington Resort with a primarily local clientele and devoid of the road raging attitudes of some of the visitors. It has a genuinely New England vibe from the parking lot all the way to the top of the mountain. The parking lots have plenty of space. The main lodge has a New England functional vibe, a bit rough and that's how people like it. Once on the slopes, the trails tend to be very New England, with narrow trails, plenty of tight tree glades, and one high speed with the rest of the lifts being fixed quads. Sking Pico is a pleasure. It may not have the vertical of Killington, with just under 2,000 at Pico and 3,000 at Killington. But what it lacks in vertical it more than makes up in customer experience. Killington's ethos is "The Beast", loud, boisterous, gargantuan.... Pico is the exact opposite. Quiet, friendly, local, sedate. Ambassadors and Ski Patrol will assist you anywhere. The food at the cafeteria doesn't have a French name but it's wholesome, hearty, tasty. Loooooong ago, there was a move to connect Killington and Pico with cross trails to each. Massive local opposition and ecological issues put a kabash on the idea. As a result, Pico is next to Killington but it's another world in ski experience.
