My family enjoyed our stay here. Our room was clean and Dave at reception was very accommodating. Very nice continental breakfast. The photos on the website are accurate depictions of the hotel. Yoshi Sushi down the road had excellent General Tso's shrimp, BTW.

My husband and I went driving and ended up in Killington Vermont. We needed a place to stay and the Chalet came up on Hotels.com for only 80.00 a night so we gave it a try. The staff is lovely and we enjoyed the homemade blueberry muffins at morning breakfast. The place appeared clean. If you have a dog they are welcome here-too. There are two restaurants conveniently located across the street. I gave only 3 stars because the building is in desperate need of an update badly. It looks as if it hadn't been touched since 1972. The hallways are dreadful. Wall paper is peeling off and miss matched, carpeting is old and dated. The bathroom in our room is a mess. And the room has no pictures on the walls. I believe if the owners could throw some money into the structure it would be great. All in all our stay was pleasant and we would consider revisiting if some of the above issues could be addressed.

This place exceeded our expectations and really made our trip so much more enjoyable! I mean, how many places let you bring your furry little friends on road trips?! They not only allow pets, but take care of them for you while you ski/snowboard all day or do whatever... AND they sent US a thank you card for staying with them and even mentioned they will miss Rosco, our puppy. Chalet Killington- THANK YOU!

I stayed at chalet Killington the last week of February 15 and had a great time. Awesome staff, clean rooms, cool building with a nice communal fire place, ping ping table, pool table, hot tub n outdoor pool. Really close to the slopes and to other restaurants and shops. Hoping to revisit in the near future.

Wonderful place- dog friendly and only about 4 minutes drive from the Killington Resort/ slopes. I loved staying here the first week of October. It was the perfect place for my gf and I to stay because it's a quaint building, not a lot of rooms/people to bother us and very helpful, friendly, down to earth staff. They have free parking, which is always appreciated. The indoor hot tub was probably my favorite perk since I really needed to relax and it was very clean so I enjoyed that very much. There is a pool table and table tennis there too which is nice to have available without paying extra. The common room was nice and comfortable, especially when they had the fire going! Breakfast was very nice, they made blueberry muffins (which were delicious!), there were English muffins, bagels, yogurt, bananas and apples, plus 3 kinds of Green Mountain coffee. It was a nice view from our room (15) which is facing down the mountain. I only say nice as opposed to the incredible view you get at the summit (but you can't stay overnight there). There was a decent size flat screen in the room and it has a lot of cable channels so that's nice for late night entertainment. The deck outside is very cool, there is a table and chairs for sitting/ relaxing. The Expedia booking said that there was a refrigerator in the room, but there ended up not being one so I'll blame that mistake on Expedia and I won't give a lower rating because of it but just mentioning it so people are aware. Also I wish the Baja Burrito restaurant on the first floor was open because it looks so cute, but I'm staying outside of the peak season so it's not open yet.

    Room carpets need replaced.

Very, very dated! In serious need of renovations. The staff is nice, but I couldn't get over how worn down everything was.

Great breakfast is included during the winter, and the in-house Baja Cantina makes the best margaritas on the mountain.

The outdoor heated pool and game room on the first floor were definite highlights, especially for the kids! We loved being able to relax and play after a day of exploring. The on-site restaurant was another big win. It was busy when we arrived, so we placed our order with the hostess and hit the pool for an hour & they delivered to our room. The burger, fries, and chicken strips were all solid, but the Brussels sprouts and cheese curds? OMG. So good. We charged it all to the room, which was a nice option. Breakfast the next morning was fresh and filling--think granola, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bagels, muffins, danishes, OJ, coffee, and even make-your-own hot cocoa. Simple, but plenty to start the day right. Other perks: Free parking Great location (just minutes from Killington Resort) A market and deli nearby (3 or so miles) fresh food & hot food ready to go and market/beer/deli Other restaurants and endless trails in the area We especially recommend Thundering Falls, a beautiful hike Check for Live music The staff was super helpful and friendly. I appreciated being able to text with Valerie at the front desk, she sent a thoughtful welcome message and shared great local ideas. Thanks, Valerie! Our room was clean and comfortable. The ambiance was very memorable -- from the adorable covered bridge you drive through, to the architecture of the inn, to the sweet greeting from innkeeper Bill. We visited around Christmastime during Covid-19, so Killington wasn't as busy as I'm sure it usually is. We had the choice of eating in the dining room or in their lounge in front of the HUGE and beautifully decorated tree. Christmas music was softly playing, and the romantic cabin aesthetic really made me feel like I was living in a real life Hallmark movie. The food was good, not SUPER memorable, but very yummy. We had the brie (my favorite), ravioli and NY strip steak. Overall, the experience was fantastic for our anniversary. Try it out!

I read several reviews in advance and to be honest based on what I read I was nervous but we were ultimately very pleased with our stay. If like me you have read a lot of the other reviews, let me address the cons that were listed by others. After staying here, I felt like other reviewers are honestly just jerks. The water- yes the tap water has a mineral smell to it but there is fresh drinking water provided in the lobby from a water cooler. You can fill water bottles or there are plenty of cups provided. You are literally on a mountain in the middle of Vermont- the water situation is normal. The decor- yes this hotel has maintained it's old school vibe and retained a lot of original decor. That said I felt that there were many updates including newer carpet than what was pictured. I personally found it charming. I liked all the vintage pictures in the halls and the original beer bottle openers in the rooms. The tv in our room was new. The beds were firm but we prefer that so it wasn't an issue. There was a mini fridge that was newer and clean. Cleanliness- our room was extremely clean. I stayed at a Hilton last month and felt our room at the Cascades was cleaner. Staff- extremely friendly and kind. Answered all of my questions politely. Price- this was an extremely affordable hotel for the location. That said, we booked on a day when I believe rooms were priced to sell. I looked up the regular rates and I think it still would have been priced competitively based on the surrounding options. They do charge extra for more than 2 people per room which wasn't an issue for us. I suspect that they do this to avoid large groups booking one room for a bunch of people- which I personally appreciate as I can imagine that could become obnoxious. We drove up for an impending snow storm and the location made this hotel worth every penny as we were able to roll out of bed early- drive 1 minute up the access road to park in the k-1 lot and get in line in time for 1st chair. There is also a shuttle to the mountain. TL;DR- don't listen to all the nasty reviews, if you don't mind an old school ski hotel, this is a clean and warm place to stay close to the lifts.
