Amazing looking food. Woman sitting next to me got served eggs Florentine with salmon and spinach. I had immediate food envy as it looked sooooo good. I had a latte ( needed an extra shot added) and a yummy bread and butter pudding slice. Good atmosphere and an amazing array of counter food that all looked delicious. I love this cafe. So busy and bustling but that is just part of its charm. Stumbled across it on a walk into Greenwich and although we had to wait 10 minutes for a table it was well worth the wait! Their menu is crazy extensive, I mean seriously, it's huge! Ranging from breakfast options to burgers it has everything you could want and more. It took us a good 15 minutes to take it all in but finally I decided on their special - avocado, poached eggs and spinach on sour dough toast WITH extra bacon and halloumi... Well I have to try as much as possible don't I? The food arrived quickly and the portions are LARGE! You could tell the quality of the food is top notch and everything was cooked to perfection. The avocado especially was creamy and delicious. It was a fantastic meal and I couldn't give this place more credit. If you can have a nosey in the kitchen, it's tiny but chefs within are hard at work and creating just wonderful food! I've only docked one star as I had to ask for my water twice which for just water was slightly frustrating but other than that the service was good and prices very reasonable. Great little cafe and I cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu! read more

I've been here twice with a friend and I can't fault the food. The first time I got the falafel sandwich on brown bread and it was lovely. Last weekend I had the sweetcorn fritters breakfast with a scrambled instead of poached egg atop of roasted veggies. Overall excellent quality and substantial serving for the money. Plus a delicious chai latte- likely one of the best I've had! It's dog-friendly which is a plus. Very busy place so as a result though, the service suffers. The waiter we had last weekend screwed up my friend's order and utensils and napkins didn't come until the last minute. No one checked how our food was after it was served. Even the manager seems to have the amazing London ability of tunnel vision and to ignore customers until they are directly in front of her face; case in point we had empty dishes and glasses on our table for a while. I had such a great experience at The Green Café! Went on a Sunday for a late morning breakfast/brunch. It was pretty buys and had to wait outside for a few minutes before the line went down and we were able to get inside. Once we made it in, we could watch all the amazing plates of food go by to help us make our decision. The menu has a lot to offer and I was really happy about that. Not knowing what I wanted to eat was great because the offering was pretty wide. I settled on a cappuccino and fresh (huuuuuuge) waffle with bananas and maple syrup. Holy cow was it awesome. I was in heaven. My dining companion built his own breakfast with eggs, sausage, bagel, and breakfast potatoes. I tried some of his and we were both pleased with his offerings. I obviously was too in love with mine to try too much or share too much. They had a nice selection of toppings so I'll be sure to head back to try another combination out. On the way to pay at the counter, I was taken back by the assortment of fresh baked goods ranging from cookies to pie to bread pudding. I was way too full to get anything but I was sure to come back a few days later. The bread pudding was so delicious that I am obsessed with getting another piece this week if it happens to be available. If not, still happy to try something new. I'll see you soon Green Café! We're from the US visiting London and staying in Greenwich. We stopped here on our way to the river bus and we had our best breakfast here while visiting Europe. Our waitress Maria was so sweet and friendly. The food and coffee was lovely. Highly recommend! I wanted another coffee before I left but didn't want to be that girl! If I lived nearby this would be my spot. read more

The food was fab, the selection was good - they even have gluten free bread. Friendly nice, cafe - somewhere between a greasy spoon and cafe - on the ethical coffee shop end of the scale. I was there with a mother and new born child - and there seemed to be other children. I would say its baby friendly. Few issues. 1. Pricing £1.30 extra for gluten free bread in an item where your switching out your bread type- seems a bit - tightfisted - and not very customer centred. 2. The staff we pretty slow, and passive. Very friendly - but not particularly enthusiastic. Lovely food, I will attend again. read more

We live right around the corner from here, and this is our go-to place for a special breakfast. It's a small shop, but we've never had to wait, although we do tend to go early - well before 9:30 AM. I'm typically self-conscious about my boisterous children in all small London eateries, but at Green Cafe we always feel welcome. Although there is a mini-breakfast option for the kids, mine always choose to have waffles, fresh-made for each of them, hot off the iron, with one topping - honey, maple syrup, bananas, or strawberries. There are several other topping options, though many lean toward the dessert-waffle variety. The nutella option is extremely generous, so you're best off asking for it to be served on the side and spreading to taste. I typically have the mediterranean breakfast, which includes chorizo, bacon, halloumi, mushrooms, olives, tomato, cucumber wedges, and a fried egg on toast. It's quite generous for 8.50, and a nice twist when you want something different than traditional English. My husband typically gets Maple Bacon, which is bacon with French toast. I haven't tried it so can't say personally, but it's certainly his old standby. All in all a really lovely little gem in Greenwich. read more

Love the Green Cafe! We live close by and this is always our first choice if we are eating breakfast or lunch out. It can get busy as it's very popular but most of the time you can get a table. If you can't get a table the do take away and have amazing cakes and pastries you can 'grab and go' - perfect for picnics in the park! English breakfast is our favourite and all the different combinations, the cakes are delicious and they often have tempting specials - Turkey, Brie and Cranberry bagel being a favourite of mine. read more

Lovely little cafe serving a whole range of food from fresh cakes and pastries, sandwiches, paninis, hot food (omlettes etc) and a brilliant selection of dessert treats (pancakes, waffles etc). And of course the usual selection of coffees, lattes, teas etc. Great breakfasts (full english -or any combination!) and reasonably priced. In fact, my favourite place to come for a breakfast treat! Only downside is that it's quite small inside (so tricky to find a table if you're a big group, but 4 or less people should be fine). read more

Cute little shop. Very small interior but decorated cute. As a family of four, we had risotto, omelettes, and veg chili. The boys loved the omelettes with ham and sausage and the risotto was better than delicious. The veg chili was spiced with Indian flavors. The on letters came with a salad with this unbelievable basil/parm cheese dressing. The BEST thing ever is the fresh orange juice. I have never had juice this good in my life. And you get to watch the oranges get squeezed in the machine. Super yummy stop on the way to royal observatory. Service was slow but it was packed. read more

Quaint, but adequate size cafe, serving good quality food hearty breakfasts, and a good lunch selection. Good coffees and a good range of cakes. Love this place, amongst the busy streets, this cafe pops you back to a slower place and pace, and be treated very nicely. The staff are human, not robots, and are a pleasure. The perfect breakout from the tourist traps in the immediate vicinity of the cutty sark. Service was excellent & quick considering every table was full. Food Choice was very good.
