Total waste of 18 euros! Ordered Onion rings and Jalapeño poppers. 8 onion rings, 5 poppers that looked like cheese sticks. Both items looked to be previously frozen and reheated. Great food, Good Beer. Even better company. Staying in Paris for one week and came across this great bar to sit with my husband and have a taste of the states again. We started to have a day halfway through our trip that we had a feeling of being homesick. We wanted either a burger, wrap, poutine, or something that was quick, filling, and easy with beer. This was it for that moment. Very pleased with this location. We wanted to go back another night closer to the last evening of our stay. It was very full but everyone there was super accommodating. Wanted to watch the Jags-Eagles game so this seemed like a good spot. Good vibe, lots of native English speakers which is a nice reprieve when you live abroad, service was fine, and the beer didn't seem unreasonably priced... But the food was so laughably terrible that it sort of ruined it. I got 10 buffalo wings which were TINY (i kept wondering if maybe they were actually pigeons) and served with some sort of mustard with an over-sweet version of Buffalo sauce. All of that was annoying but to add insult to injury, they are 16 EUR for 10. I get that you are not using hormone laced US chicken so they are smaller, but then you don't get to charge imported food prices. I also had the nachos which were also very lame. The cheese wasn't fully melted, there were like, 5 small jalapeños on them - honestly, why even bother? In the end, I paid 30 euro for some awful chips with salsa and 10 tiny bird wings. I'll be back for beer and football, but will always arrive with a full belly. And I suggest you hire a consultant to help with your Game Day recipes cos they are whack. read more

Living a few months in Paris. a fantastic place to come and eat and watch the NFL with ex pats and local folks. Everyone there to have a good time. The staff work really hard to make your experience great. Wife and I are both canadians visiting Paris for the first time. Saw this out on a bus tour and decided to drop in afterwards for a drink. They have a bunch of Canadian or American beers in bottles like coors light. A pint of amstel lager is €6.50 They also got strongbow on draught. Good atmosphere, your standard sports bar from back home in toronto. Staff is friendly and speaks English. They are very nice and friendly. One thing to note, if you're eating here, go for the chicken and cheese quesadilla!! It's really good! 6 pieces or slices, comes with a side salad and sauces (guacamole, mayo, and some salsa). Going to preface this: if you like NFL games then here is perfect. The 1 star is based on our experience. So I was recommended to come here by an employee to watch the MN vikes. I've had a very hard time finding a bar in Paris that will show MN games; so I was stoked when i found out that they show most games. We came here about 1.5 hours before the game started with our dog. We grabbed a seat and got drinks, our waitress was very nice. Right after the game started our dog wanted water so we asked for some water. A different waitress with black hair was incredibly rude saying we couldn't have our dog and the interaction kind of made a scene. Now we had already been there about 2 hours and our waitress had seen our dog and said nothing. We asked our waitress to confirm, so a manager came out and told us no. Now our dog is 2.5 kilos and is in a bag sleeping. The manager told us in a rude way that we needed to leave immediately and dog's aren't allowed. Don't get me wrong...I have zero problem if someone says dogs aren't allowed. But how they went about it was really rude. They didn't ask us to please leave, they told us to get out. I asked for our bill and we would leave. I ask that you inform all your staff that dogs aren't allowed so that other people don't have to waste time and money here. And next time i hope you ask in a nice way for someone to leave. I've called another NFL bar in Paris and asked if they would accept dogs and they said yes. So I'll take my business elsewhere, where the staff is kind. read more

Sure I am a Bruins fan. So I did not like the giant Habs sweater on a wall. But I do like Canada. So it was fun to see a Canadian themed bar in Paris. Beer was good. The Great Canadian was decent, but I mostly enjoyed Kilkenny's. The bartenders were kind and sweet. I was there to watch the game (the Netherlands vs. Costa Rica) but my boyfriend does not watch sports. So he was talking to people around the bar area. Apparently the bartenders were really sweet. And yes, they have poutine! That was it. That surely did it for me. I haven't had poutine since I left New England area. So I sure missed it. Many of you know that despite having grown up in Paris for 20 years, and to everyone's surprise, it doesn't feel that way and when I'm in France, at what I like to call my secondary residence, with my parents, I often suffer from not being able to watch any NHL or NFL games. My parents are too cheap to pay for international cable TV, which is quite costly. And this is where the Great Canadian comes in, this wonderful bar which is located just a few hundred meters (yes, meters not feet or yards - screw you and the stupid US units system! - metric rules.) from the Place St. Michel, right along the Seine river, and which features a few televisions which play North American sports. I've been there for AFC championship games, Bruins games, you name it. If I'm in Paris and it's Sunday and the Patriots do not have a BYE week, I'm usually there for games. David P. and I were there when the Patriots beat the Chargers a few years back, the game running very late into the night and we were happy to see many American fans come out and join us. The crowd there is quite eclectic and seems to feature a lot of Brits, Canadians and Americans and hardly any French. The staff there primarily speaks English which makes for a nice, refreshing experience in the middle of Paris. The food there is pretty standard American bar food, with nachos, wings and other junk and their beer selection is pretty good. A pretty standard ex-patriot bar with American sports. I thank them for the service they provide, or I'd be screwed trying to watch the games. The decor is very Canadian and the door handles to the establishment event feature hockey sticks; quite the experience going there. Oh and they have outside seating as well. read more

I've been to The Great Canadian 3 times now - my first visit was over Thanksgiving and they did put on a nice spread. On my most recent trip, I stopped in for lunch. It's in a great spot close to St Germain and the Ile de la Cite - walking distance to Sainte Chapelle and Notre Dame. It was nice to sit in a quiet pub, drink a beer, watch some sports, and get away from the crowds and heavy French food. The TGC was not busy at lunch - but I have seen it busier in the evenings. I am disappointed that there is only hockey memorabilia and I think I saw one rugby jersey. What happened to the Roughriders flag?!? read more

This place is a standard meetup pub in Paris. East to get to and a great place for expats. I have been coming here since 2004 or even the late 90s. This pub is good for sports, food and a smart meetup point. It's very American for Parisians but my alumni usually come through. The bathrooms have a TV on every stall, the beers are well priced and the terrace is right on the Seine. You are around the corner from Saint Michele; so very easy to find! read more

An extremely popular ex-pat hang-out in Paris. Located directly on the left bank right next to the Pont Neuf, it is a typically North American-style bar in the heart of the city. The food and beer are great and you can always expect a warm & friendly welcome. Seems to be used by locals, ex-pats and tourists in equal measure. It was so neat to see 'The Real Canadian Pub' smack in the middle of Paris, we had to go in. I was giddy to see all the hockey memorabilia on the walls, it made me feel so at home. Great place to watch sports games and hang out. I thought it was a lil funny that they had an american working behind the bar, but I don't think I really expected any different. I basically signed up for a yelp account because of this place. There are hundreds of places to get food in Paris, so if you are reviewing this place based on their food then get a life.. They have a lot of affordable beer selections and a very friendly staff. Most importantly, I was there on new years day and stopped in hoping they would have some bowl games on tv. I spoke directly with the manager who went out of his way (got his personal laptop and logged on to espn3.com to plug in to the tv) to make sure I could catch the Michigan bowl game. He also made sure the other college football fans could watch their games too. Overall a fun atmosphere and a great location. The next time I head back to Paris I will make sure to head back to this place just to stop in for a beer. If you are a sports fan traveling around Paris then this is your spot. Also, being a hockey player and having hockey sticks on the front door will always get you an extra star. read more

I was in Paris with my best friend around Easter 2011, and we visited this place specifically to watch hockey (it was the playoffs-- normal vacation activities be damned)! Both of us went to college in Montreal, so we're happily indoctrinated Montreal Canadiens fans. Disappointingly, the bar was chock-a-block full of noisy Boston Bruins supporters. We were at least pleased to notice a pronounced Quebec accent muttering "Tabarnac!" at the table behind us! We popped in here a couple times during our visit, with mixed results. At one point, the staff tried to tell us that they weren't going to put the hockey on because basketball was more pertinent-- excuse us?! You have twenty-nine televisions (slight exaggeration, I admit) and YOU ARE A CANADIAN PUB. Hockey, please! We batted our eyelashes and a subsequent staff member complied with our request. As you're in Paris, I really wouldn't suggest eating here. You can get a decent burger, but do you really want that? Go find lovely food elsewhere, and wander this way if you want to watch some sports and enjoy a refreshingly unusual mix of patrons. read more
