All you need from a British style pub. I get here each time I visit Paris since it's next door to the Meridien Etoile Hotel. Good assortment of beer on tap. It's also a local hangout for expats. Always sports on the many TVs. Soccer, cycling, hockey, etc. I've eaten twice and the food is also decent pub food. Last time I had the chicken masala with rice. This time I had the blue cheese burger. Excellent. Done to perfection with good fries too. M Worth stopping in if you need a taste of Brit/American/Canadian flavor, or if you're just in the neighborhood.

Great ambiance and a really nice waitress. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was nothing like I expected based on the reviews of the place. It was made of thinly sliced dry pieces of meat that looked like store bought pastrami as opposed to thick juicy succulent slices of homemade pastrami. So I'm disappointed with the quality of the food.

We were there for drinks, but any expat will enjoy the drink choices, the company, and catch some American sports.

Speak English ! That's a plus. Only had a beer but service was friendly. Beer was a little pricey tho!

Didn't get a chance to eat here. After trying to find this location using a paper map, I was most…read moreexcited for some of the starters. Unfortunately, most of them where not available at that time. They were only offering cheese trays. It was a Friday around 6:30pm. The ambiance was cool. Typical happy hour bar scene. High energy and busy.

The Semaphore kinda saved my life recently, when I was mandated by my friends to find a cool bar…read morenear Saint-Lazare. Because you see, Saint-Lazare isn't known for the coolness of its bars - or even for the mere existence of them. So I was deciding to bring them all to Burger King (which IS what Saint-Lazare is known for, actually) when I saw the Semaphore. €5 cocktails from 5 to 9pm - the well-too-classic Mojitos and Pina Colada, but also Martini Royale, Cosmopolitan, and my little favourite the Black Russian (I know, I know, disgusting, blah blah blah.) They are quite good for the price, and apparently they also have an OK choice of beer for 4-6€ a pint. As for the place itself: it's young, laid-back (babyfoot alert!), quite loud, not at all hipster. You can stay forever with your friends and nobody will try to come and force you into buying another drink. Oh, and when you begin to be angry, they have some snacks, tapas-like, at around €5 each - I didn't try them, but I saw several people ordering them, so they have to be at least OK!
