A light show
Diane W.

First time we were here was June 29 and it was fantastic. As it was quite busy ( we were fortunate to get a couch to sit on), my husband went to the bar and ordered drinks and food directly from the bartender (Joel(?)), who was really friendly and personally delivered the drinks and food. Drinks were well mixed with a good pour, and the food ( app) yummy. The St. Louis Hilton/ Union Station Hotel prides itself in this hall, the "crown jewel", and it is...and they have fabulous light shows projected on the ceiling hourly from 5 or 6 PM-10/11 , as brochure and website contradict each other. **** Be sure to call ahead to see if this space is available and open. We booked 2 nights 2 weeks later and were surprised, disappointed and ultimately angered that the hall/shows/ bar and restaurant were closed and unavailable to the public, or even guests, due to a wedding. This was all non disclosed and the main reason why we picked this hotel. *** good luck having anyone pick up the phone if it goes through the main / front desk, unless you get Ella who was the only professional employee. We were able to enjoy the Grand Gall the following night, and they were packed. Our server ( a pretty blonde whose name escapes me) was hustling, and when she accidentally brought me the wrong drink, comped our first round on her own accord. Talk about outstanding customer service. Further, the manager himself, ( Tom, as we later learned), literally removed his jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and helped serve, etc. Truly a professional here; very hands on and personable as he served our food as well. Only wish the front desk manager, Crystal, and the majority of her staff, would learn from true good leadership. Food: excellent, we got a flatbread pizza and something else; I somehow didn't take photos, but everything was good .

If staying at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel, visiting this lobby is a must. There are different light shows every hour in the evenings and it can be a fun place to meet up for a drink. The bartenders were always friendly and the bar area was always clean and welcoming.

We came last year and had an incredible experience! This year was very different. Very long wait time to get drinks, food, had to move to sit at the bar to get service. Got no waters, silverware, and would've had another drink but were never asked. Our first pizza was burnt before they brought it out so they made another pizza which came out underdone. Hoping they get this figured out because the light show & experience was an incredible memory last year!

This beautiful bar is inside the Union Station Hotel in the heart of Downtown STL. This is the "hotel bar" if you will but it's honestly so much more. The paintings and stained glass surrounding the bar are stunning. Every hour, on the hour until 11pm they do a music and light show. I watched while enjoying a glass of Prosecco. You can order food from the restaurant at the bar and enjoy at the bar or one of the surrounding tables. Definitely worth checking out!

What a cool and historic place! Although I was here for a special (Yelp) event, this is a place worth checking out! Right across the street from the new STL FC stadium, you've got plenty to check out at Union Station ... Grand Hall and bar, evening light show, the Wheel, STL Aquarium and more. Shout out to Kelse, our STL Yelp CM for organizing an amazing, fancy and fun location to bring the Elite Squad in for 2023 pics, HH bevvies and tasty eats and treats! Cheers, enjoy! ...and SYOY!

What a wonderful event with a surprise twist! As soon as you arrive at the venue location, there are beautiful historic doors that you get to walk through, and a beautiful staircase that winds up into a magnificent ballroom. The food was was a large variety. They had seafood options, so I was glad that they had other options for people like me that have allergies and unfortunately are not able to eat seafood even though I carry my EpiPen and give myself a little injection when I'm feeling frisky and I want to be part of the cool group. My favorite was the onion dip with the pork rinds that they had to offer. Call me lame, but I am always a sucker for a good pork rind. They were almost the size of my hand crispy and full of flavor, but not overpowering. I also thoroughly enjoyed the triple chocolate dessert my goodness I almost had a smack my own hand it to stay away from the desert area. Lastly, their salad was Fantabulous, and they included blue cheese crumbles in the salad. It was like they knew I was coming in for that alone they get five stars for being unique. I never had an empty plate. I'm not kidding when I say before I finished my last bite they were offering to take my plate and clean the table. The drink options also a large variety and delicious. I played it safe with a white wine, Chardonnay. I know I went from being lame to being boring, but it was a fabulous glass of Chardonnay.

Beautiful spot for a wedding! We had such a good time and it was so elegant. I loved the light show at the beginning of the Reception and the lighting was super pink for the majority of the reception which I loved. Staff were super efficient and kind as well, I will never forget this experience! I also stayed at the hotel and it was SO nice only having to walk a few minutes to go to bed instead of driving 30 minutes home after a long day.

All I can say is wow! The cocktails are delicious and the light show is unforgettable. Right now, they have a Beatles show playing and it is an absolute treat. The staff is very professional and know how to make a tasty cocktail. The I side of this hotel bar is absolutely stunning by itself. It's worth a pop in!

Cane here for a private Yelp elite event! The staff is on point. The second my plate or drink was empty they were on it. The hall itself is magnificent! The lights show at the top of the hour is so freaking cool, and not the same every time. I will be back when it is open to the public. Super fancy!

The Grand Hall is an event space inside the Union Station Complex. It's part bar, part hotel lobby, part wedding reception venue. When you walk in and look up, it's hard to not feel like a child gazing up in amazement at the splendor of the space. And it's no wonder why! In its prime in the mid 1940′s, more than 100,000 passengers a day passed through Union Station. The Grand Hall, the gem of the train station featuring Romanesque arches, 65-foot barrel vaulted ceiling and stained glass windows, originally housed a hotel, a restaurant, passenger waiting rooms and railroad ticketing offices. After being redeveloped starting in the early 2000's, the Grand Hall was transformed into one of the most beautiful event spaces in the city. I love taking friends and family who visit St. Louis to the Grand Hall as a gateway into exploring Union Station. It's the perfect way to set the stage for the day's experience. At the top of the hour every hour, the Grand Hall darkens and they use high powered projectors to present a magical display on the massive, vaulted ceiling. They freshen the shows up fairly often, so it gives you a good reason to go back. I also find that the bar within the Grand Hall is a great "date night" place, especially during COVID times as the massive space gives you ample opportunity practice safe social distancing. They always have well crafted cocktails and a curated beer list. You can't help but feel like an affluent 1900's traveler waiting for their train whilst sipping and old fashioned. The experience is truly magical and worth the trip Downtown.

Such a classy set! I always enjoy walking into Union Station's beautiful Grand Hall, even if it is just for the short cut to Starbucks. Yes coffee lovers & business meeting geeks, Grand Hall has a small but mighty Starbucks located inside. The Grand Hall has soooo many wonderful attributes to be enjoyed. I'll name a few: gorgeous full bar, intimate set for special occasions, plenty of comfy seating, magnificent Brogue inspired decor, walls/ceiling of art, televisions and most importantly the most captivating dancing light shows in town. The Grand Hall sets the tone for making any event a success. I'd definitely get married here. ~Christy

Having spent a lot of time in the Kansas City Union Station because of my father spending a career there, I love to see other depots and how they have been refurbished and re-utilized. St. Louis; you have succeeded in creating a masterpiece! The large arched Grand Hall is a restaurant, bar and event center, but also the home of a majestic light and sound show. Each hour on the hour from 4pm until 2am the lights dim and the entire ceiling and walls become the screen for a stunning 5 minute visual feast. Since I was staying at the Union Station Hilton, it was so convenient to have such a beautiful place just steps away from my room. Besides the amazing architecture and electronic wizardry, the staff was the best! I spent about 2 hours each day of my 2 night stay here and had outstanding drinks, recommendations and genuine conversations with 4 different staff; all masters of mixology and customer service. Special recognition to bartender Luciano for being a great ambassador for the space and the city! The Grand Hall is one of my favorite cocktail experiences ever!

Peach sangria

The peach sangria is a troptical explosion in your mouth! The kind that you want. Ambiance: very classic and old-American. St louis has always been known as the gateway to the west and there are hidden gems in St. Louis that you have to really search for including the Grand Hall. There is a nice classy bar underneath the gold-leafed Romanesque arches.

I could have gotten a hot breakfast but I was always in a hurry so I got the continental to go: coffee, fruit cup, vanilla yogurt and bagel your style. Your other choices include omelettes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, if you want the hot breakfast. However the hot breakfast does not include fruit, which I always prefer: cut up cantaloupe, pineapple, berries. It was great! I used my $10 food card for an ooey gooey butter cake. Paid $4 with tip since it was $12. Every evening, they serve the best ooey gooey cookies ever! free! Marriott also loaded a $25 gift card to my account that expired soon, so I went next door to the Marriott and spent it on two bottles of water, a seltzer and a fruit cup and paid $4 extra. They sure do charge a lot for water! I heard there is a grocery store Shnucks near by but I didn't have time to visit. The only thing was I stayed several nights but they did not clean the room or even change the towels after the first night. I was too busy and tired to care but hang up your towels!

I stayed there this past weekend for a volleyball tournament across the street. The location couldn't have been better. And the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. But thy were way understaffed, and it showed. The lobby smelled really bad. Like gross. Made me not want to hang out down there at all. One of the three elevators were out and as it was bus and they are small elevators you ended up waiting a lot. My room size was ok, but the tv didn't work, the phone didn't work, the safe didn't work, the room lighting was poor and the pillows were the worst quality pillows possible. I let them know the next day and they couldn't fix anything so they just moved me to a new room. But they don't help me at all and I had to move my own stuff at 9:30pm after a long day. In addition the valet was so slow it didn't make sense to use them. You'd literally wait 20 minutes for a car. They had in room coffee but it was gross and the water out of the sink tasted weird. I also asked for a slightly Kate checkout and they said no initially. I know they don't have people coming to the hotel for the week so it was surprising the couldn't give me an extra 30 mins. But I ended up bullying them into giving me the 30 mins. They did say my key might stop working and to just stop by the front desk a they would make me a new one. Not sure I'd stay here again even though they tried to make things right for me.

From the very beginning, I knew that with Christina and her attentive team that we would be in great hands. The venue (612North) is housed in the once estate of Henry Shaw (Missouri Botanical Gardens). The look and feel of this venue is very a very on-trend and chic-poured floor, exposed brick sort of gig. The killers are the very tall picture windows on three sides which view is the newly face-lifted Gateway Arch. It was very fun to hear the gasps as people caught the sights and realized they could "almost touch The Arch". 612North Catering: Foodstuffs are created by the talent behind Drunken Fish...yes, their bespoke sushi is available, but also many other flavors and textures that show Drunken Fish and associated companies to be au courant and very formidable in St. Louis party eats. Macaroni and Cheese with shards of bacon, hot sauce or other mix ins. Crispy pillowed pot-stickers dipped in salty-sweet ginger goodness. Most memorable for me was their Flatbread Board. Flatbread pieces topped with varied things creating the perfect finger food. Tops in my book was a mellow Bechamel and Caramelized Onion, Gruyere and Thyme melded perfectly on a tender crust. Items of course can be tailored for your needs and desires. Once the party was humming along there was nothing for me to worry about. A major plus. Working with Christina was a dream. Communication was open and responses immediate. A (patrolled) public parking lot is mere feet from the entrance so attendees need not worry. Coat check included. If you want a fun, hip gathering place, 612North is happening and it's happening in Downtown's Laclede's Landing. There is no doubt we will use again.
