This is my second visit to a similar establishment. If you go into this activity with an open mind, you are going to have fun! The first time I had no idea what to expect, this time I was helping a friend create fun photos for her dating profile. We had a blast! Jessa was amazing and we lucked out and had the whole place to ourselves. I loved the panel lights, those were not available at the other location. I have no idea if I was using them correctly, but I sure had fun pretending! They also had some really fun props and a fitting room, if you bring extra outfits for your photos which is a fantastic idea. I got a chance to check out the Selfie Room. What a cute idea. They have lots of different scenes for you to snap your perfect photo. This is a fun place to come to with a group of friends or your children. There is a small parking lot and metered parking on the street. I had an awesome time at the Yelp event there. We had light appetizers, drinks and tie dyeing available. What a great way to have your very own photo shoot! They have several very playful staged areas for your photos. What an amazing experience!! I highly recommend using the services at The Selfie Room for the best photos!! From the time that I booked the appointment to completing the appointment, the process could not have been simpler. Heather Borman (owner) and Jill Jones (photographer) were amazing. They were nice and professional and really made me feel welcome! Heather communicated with me during the entire process of what was to come and how things would work, which was helpful. Jill was hilarious, and she kept me laughing and smiling the whole time, which is important for getting amazing photos. She also gave excellent directions on what poses I could use, and suggestions on the various backgrounds that would look best with the outfit that I was wearing. She also gave me tips on how to reduce the glare on the glasses that I was wearing. She also inquired as to how I was going to be using the photos, whether it was for branding, or personal use, so that they could customize the experience for my needs. Such a fun and COOL spot. They have exhibits set up for you to take your own photos for social media, cards or whatever you want. The staff is phenomenal and absolutely go above and beyond to make sure that everyone who comes in the door feels valued and happy! This place provides a fun evening out with friends. While it's smaller than I expected, they really utilize all the available space to create fun sets to take pictures with. The sets change seasonally, and for an extra fee you can rent a phone stand and Bluetooth remote for taking pictures of everyone in the group together, or if you choose to visit solo. If you really want to get into it, I'd recommend checking out their IG ahead of time to see what type of sets they currently have, that way you can plan your outfits (they have a changing room available if you want to wear more than one outfit) and poses ahead of time. You'll want to make the most of the hour you have! Each set has lighting, but I will say that the lighting on some of the sets isn't great. There's one space in particular that has really bad shadows and the lighting in the photos doesn't looks dull. You're allowed to adjust the lighting (i.e. move the ring light around) a little bit, but be careful not to damage it or trip over the cords. Especially watch the cords. Another thing to keep in mind, is it can get a little warm inside. By the end of my session I tend to have some fairly pink cheeks! So if you get hot easily, maybe bring some blotting papers or make-up for touch ups. Logistics: This place is on Washington Ave, so while that's great for having places to hangout or eat at post-selfie room, it's not always great for parking. If you don't mind paying/walking there are parking lots nearby, but we typically street park at a meter. Currently you need to make a reservation ahead of time and fill out a waiver on your phone. At the front are hangers for your coat and cubbies for your bags. read more

Worth it for a fun night with friends. Ticket price of $35 was well worth the 17 different backdrops and AMPLE lighting. Granted, all that lighting definitely warms up the place so you may find yourself "glistening" towards the end. Staff is so pleasant and very accommodating, letting you move lighting and objects to catch your ideal pic. I brought in hats, crowns, props, etc not knowing if it was allowed and they were very encouraging of being in in your own items and made suggestions of what would look best with which backdrop. Best part, because you purchase a ticket for a reserved time slot, you never feel crowded or rushed!!!! So the selfie room... I came here to celebrate my birthday a few weeks ago with a couple friends and I was moderately disappointed in the selfie room however I did get a number of really good pictures. This is the third Instagram selfie pop-up shop that I've been to. I've been to Happy Place in Chicago and the FOMO factory in Austin. Without question this was not as good as the other two experiences I have encountered for pop-up shops. This place really is for selfies as it does not have many full body backgrounds or spaces. The lighting in the building isn't the best, but I do appreciate that the owners and operators have lighting fixtures set up at each space. Please note that I have not used the word "room" yet in describing this place. That is because there are no actual rooms here only backdrops in various spaces. I think that is where this place fails. I would have preferred actual rooms where I and my friends could have engaged and had more full body shots. One really disappointing section to me and my cousin was the white balloons circling up a post in the middle of the space. The balloons were very unique in their design structure and we really wanted to get pictures with it, but the way that the room was structured around that post, there was no way to get a good picture. Absolutely no way. That was really disappointing. There was also a corner of the room that literally had a couple branches and two little mushroom stools. It made absolutely no sense and looked absolutely ridiculous. The fact that this place is charging $35 for admission is outrageous to me. It is certainly not worth that much and I highly encourage you to go to their website to get the $10 off coupon if you do decide to go. On one hand I'm happy that St. Louis has an option like this in town, but I wish that more time, energy, and effort had been put into creating this space, as it would have made this a better experience with a little bit more time and investment. read more

I give this place five stars because we went at the perfect time! I was able to have a photographer (which they allow) come and take some amazing pictures. I went on a Monday around 5pm and not a single soul was there! A small group of girls came in towards the end but it was all good! I love the different scenes they had set up. The lady at the front desk was very nice! I found a Groupon and paid $17 for my ticket. You get unlimited time. I could see how this place would be a hot mess with a bunch of people. As a creative myself who doesn't always have the time to create a magnificent backdrop for my photos I think this is the perfect place to go to shoot anything from your Christmas holiday cards with the fam, engagement photos, and graduation photos, to your everyday IG baddie pics! Plus they host some really fun events you can attend. Most recently I went to their event in conjunction with the STL amphibian reptile center and had the wonderful opportunity to hold and be photographed with some cool cold blooded friends. 10/10 would recommend as a good location to shoot and have some fun! read more

I came here with my sister and cousin for a cute selfie shoot. We walked in, and I have to admit, it looked pretty magical. We went up to pay, and it was like.. $30 PER person. The employees were nice, but the service wasn't extraordinary or anything over the top. We payed reluctantly, and entered in with high expectations. The selfie shoot backgrounds were definitely cute, and we got good boomerangs. It was a fun experience, but it was still pretty expensive, especially since they had just opened. If they lowered their prices, I would give it another chance. I do have to applaud them for the idea, and the backgrounds were pretty cool. I'll share my review based upon each area. Website: Easy process! Staff: Extremely Nice! Equipment: The selfie lights are quite small. On the pricing page, it doesn't state that there is an additional $5.00 cost for the tripod. I thought it was strange that the tripod wasn't included. The cost wasn't an issue, but it would've been nice to have just been fully aware before I arrived. The tripod neck was quite difficult to navigate and get into an easily straight position. Rooms: I'd say this is more for teenagers? If you're trying to photos with just a clean brick backround, dark background, etc...this is not it. There were no solid backgrounds, everything had streamers, paper decorations, etc. However, since I was in the area, I took the time to just enjoy the moment and have a good time. read more

Went here for my birthday, I was not disappointed! There are multiple backgrounds, my favorite is definitelt the massive ballpit though. The employee was nice enough to take a group photo of my friends and me. She also told me they are going to be changing things and also about their 90s party. I absolutely love this place! When I first found out about this place last year, I said I gotta go! I am a small business owner and I thought it would be cool to save on high photography rates and get some pics taken there! I was excited I was able to come do several wardrobe changes and didn't have a cap on the length of time I was there. This was a huge disappointment and we will not be returning or recommending to clients or friends. Just FYI, if you are taking younger teens, you can not go back with them to take photos unless you pay the $30 entry fee. There is a limited number of tripods, so we had to wait until other people were finished....when there is a perfectly good adult present who can take them( and Also keep teens under control) but Was not allowed in the back. My partner and I have been to the Selfie Room two times. At first, I thought it would be a "one and done" experience. To my surprise, I didn't realize they were constantly updating their rooms and backdrops. I follow their social media account on Instagram, and I feel like I've seen probably three or four set overhauls in the last year. Both times I went to The Selfie Room, I have been super impressed by the creativity in the rooms - they're actually quite brilliant and I wish I had that type of creativity. I had no idea how a selfie room would work, but it was super simple. The staff there was helpful when needed - otherwise, they just allowed my partner and I play around and explore our own creativity. The equipment is super nice and I had no idea how much good lighting impacts photos. They have multiple lighting fixtures, and they can be moved to capture incredible shots. We have gone to the Selfie Room multiple times and we loved it! They are great at keeping the rooms different. The first time we walked in we didn't know what to do or wxpect and the young lady at the front desk was extremely helpful explaining how it works and tips for taking cool pics.
