I was in town to visit family and relatives and we went to dinner here on a Thur evening. We did make a reservation but only on the same day. 4 of the 5 of us had not been there before. A few of our group just had the Salad Cart and the other two added a visit to the salad bar with our meals, for a $9 fee. The salad bar had a very good selection of items. I had the smallest prime rib (they have 4 sizes I think) it was very good, so tender. The atmosphere was good as we had a booth and could not really see anyone else. After what seems like 100 years of being the "The Granary " on 8th Street in Saskatoon, they still have the best Prime Rib in Saskatoon. On Tuesday Aug 10, 2021 at 6:00 P.M., my wife and I went to enjoy our anniversary dinner, and we were not disappointed. The staff servers were warm, friendly and welcoming. Each staff person was wearing a Covid 19 mask to protect us all; thank you. Leanne, our table server was great; we got everything 100% right. Again thank you. The cooks in the kitchen had the Prime Rib done to perfection, served on a white plate with each side dish in the right place. Thank you again. We went to the Granary last night for our 10th anniversary. I did my research and picked the Granary because of the menu online. I made a reservation the night before and when we got there, there was no reservation for us. Luckily they had a table for us. Upon looking at the menu, it was totally different than the one online. I asked our server and she gave me a story that was hard to believe. It was outdated 4 years. You'd think with a fancy place, they would have a current website. The prices on the menu were much more than on the website. As we were seated already, I didn't feel right about leaving. I doubt if we will ever go back. read more

So went to the Granary for Mothers Day dinner. We orderered 3 red sangrias.to start. As soon as the waitress brought them she literally dumped 2 of them on the seat. We were all splashed iwith ice and Sangria. Shoes to clothing . They cleanup up apologized and did nothing to compensate us . I asked about my wool coat and they said anything dirty could be sent to the cleaners and they would pay . When the bill came we were charged for everything even the sangrias.. My only trip back will be with the dry cleaning receipt... Aweful service from this restaurant and the manager ... so disappointed in their customer service now left with the hassle of dealing with the dirty clothes and shoes...so disappointed read more

Very yummy prime rib.... It was super tender and juicy. The waiter was very nice and attentive to our needs. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars though is that I wish they had used a bit of a dry rub or seasoning on the prime rib to give it a nice crust. Came to Granary based upon reviews on other food websites because we had a hankering for some prime rib. We had to wait about 20-25 minutes on a Friday night, but got a booth, so we were happy with that. Decor is cute, and the ambience is nice. Our waiter was polite, courteous and attentive. Ended up ordering 8oz prime rib, and added an all-you-can-eat salad bar for 30 bucks. Slightly pricy, but I was okay with it. The salad bar is well stocked with variety, and I was very happy with the selection. The prime rib was absolutely amazing - succulent, juicy, and tender. Would have been nice to have a little au jus on the side, but it was still perfect on it's own with a bit of horse radish. It did run out that night, so make sure you get there and order early. Service was mildly slow, but tolerable. Definitely would come back again! read more

Went here for a friends birthday - was so disappointed that there wasn't a single vegetarian option on the menu so I over paid for a pasta dish and asked for no meat. And as I walked to the bathroom I saw a HUGE salad bar that the waiter obviously didn't mention or I wouldn't have spent so much on noodles lol. Overall it was good - hubby liked his meal. I defiantly wish my waiter would have let me know about the options I had - since I said to him "I'm vegetarian" ... still didn't mention the salad bar lol. Oh well. read more

Always great food, I've never had a bad meal or bad experience with service. I like that the waitresses/waiters are funny and their personalities show, they aren't stuffy and boring. This is usually a very dependable place to get a good steak and decent service. That was not the case tonight. I ordered the 10oz New York, done medium rare. It took much longer than usual for the food to come out and when it finally did my steak was very overdone, more medium well than medium rare. I hate to send food back, but this was very overcooked so back it went. The next steak that arrived was very undercooked, so much so that it was cool to the touch on the inside. I know cooks hate getting a steak back the second time but this was inedible, so it also went back. When she brought it back it was finally done right. I was expecting that something might be taken off my bill for the poor steak performance, but no such luck. In my experience a good restaurant will provide even a bit of a discount in cases like this. Maybe the Granary isn't trying that hard anymore. read more

It was very good for years until last Thursday when we got subpar food. When the manager was informed of this, she was not only unprofessional but also very condescending. Where to begin?... Water came with dirty dark ring stain half way up. 20 min wait for a water refill, 40 minute wait for two over done steaks with no flavour what so ever. $96.00 bill after no discount. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I bought several $100 gift cards to hand out to rural clients of mine to thank them for doing business with our company. Several months later upon following up with them I found out that every time they were in saskatoon on the weekends they were unable to use them because of hour plus long waits for a party 2 people to get a table. I found this hard to believe so decided to take my wife and try for myself to get in. We tried one night at 5pm sharp and were told it was a 45 minute wait. We tried another night at 6:15pm and were told it was an hour plus wait. We tried yet again at 7pm and once again were told it was an hour plus wait again. Long story short the Granary usually has very good meals but if you are only a party of 2 good luck getting in without spending time waiting in there lobby or lounge and for this reason I will no longer be purchasing gift cards for my clients from this establishment and will not even waste my time trying to go there on weekends. read more

Myself and our family have always loved going there, but once it has been sold and went under new ownership I really feel things have gotten worse. Went there a few weeks ago and had a terrible experience. Our steaks were extremely thin and over cooked for the price we paid. The salad bar wasn't as usual with wilted lettuce and slimy spinach. We reached out to the new owner with an email and he replied back with a non willing solution to help out and have us back. I thought I would try it again about a week later and it wasn't any better, same issues with salad bar and over cooked steak and very very dried out salmon. I replied to his original email that he sent me explain my situation again to him, hoping at least to get a response of a sorry from him, and have not received anything still to this day. So in my opinion, for a restaurant that has been around for many years and Saskatoon, that we used to really enjoy going to and never had a bad experience, I believe the new owner is not keeping up the reputation that it has always had. Many friends and family have tried it with him last month, and everyone is giving us the same feedback. read more
