The apartment was around the back of the hotel which was a very far walk. There were many broken down grills, chairs, patio furniture and not well kept at all. I was so disappointed. The weeds surrounding the walkway to the door were very high. Right outside the door a broken table, rusted tabletop grill and the propane tank partially attached. I wish I took photos but I knew at this point her bday weekend was most likely going to be ruined. Inside was worse. Mold, oven was horrible, the "couch" was a stained futon. Paint chipped and peeling off the wall. It was so disgusting! Then---because I didn't want the weekend to be a complete bust. I asked to see a room with two beds. This is where I went in and cleaned myself trying to salvage the weekend. The coffee maker had old grounds in it; not cleaned out. The ice bucket had something in it. It was horrible. I asked to get my money back and leave after showing the owner the pictures of the dirt. He initially said yes and will fully refund my money. So I packed the car back up. Mind you this was supposed be o be a full weekend celebrating my daughter's birthday. I bought steaks and shrimp, ice cream cake, salads etc. He then said - no I am not refunding the money because you went in the room and I have I pay someone to clean it now. This was so disappointing on so many levels. I worked very hard to give my daughter a wonderful weekend and it was an epic fail. I hope no one ever has this experience. I am a single mom, I saved for this and her entire birthday was ruined not to mention losing 170 bucks I was charged for the dirty room and the money most for her birthday cake that melted and the rest of the food that couldn't used.

We arrived around 4 pm and we had to ring the bell. We were greeted by a woman who did not introduce herself but we surely introduced ourselves! We were met by a very gruff woman who was the owner! Made sure to tells us no food in the rooms or drink! Use the common room! Being very accommodating people and very much the rule followers we said ok! Once in our rooms we found ourselves whispering, and my husband actually said why are we whispering, I quickly reply that that woman scares me! The house and our room was gorgeous, clean and well appointed. There were lots of places to sit inside and outside. We never took advantage of those, and also given that the owners always hung around the public spaces we understood why the other guests all waited outside for breakfast. (Not using the china, of course) To make a very long story short the owners are very over bearing! Both are crass and not welcoming! We could not use the "good" china outside of the dining room! My husband asked for orange juice and he got none, I drank mine and didn't feel comfortable to ask for more! There was suppose to be water available to all guest, when there was none, instead of offering to get us some they argued with each other about why there was no water! My husband and I just said Diet Coke is fine! We just grabbed our stuff and left! It must be noted that we are not new to bed and breakfasts! We have actually stayed in quite a few! We have always felt welcomed and more than comfortable! Not the case here! When you are not comfortable asking for orange juice there is a problem!

He was very comfortable and loved the large green space outside. *We also liked that it was adults only when we were there. Cons: Parking is a little tight. When we arrived, we had trouble getting into door #1 but we figured it out. It was stuck and you had to push it hard to get it open. We wished there was more closet space or more space to put our two suitcases. The road The Bond is located on gave me "Pet Semetary" vibes... it's a highway with many fast cars and semi trucks driving by and there's no barrier between the grass and the road. Definitely keep your pets on a leash. Also to note, my husband was under the impression The Bond was located on the lake based on the photos from the website and the room we stayed in was advertised as "Lake View King, Room 1". This b&b is actually located across highway 41 from the lake and we could barely see it. This was a disappointment.

We then had a lovely happy hour chat with our inn keeper Anna before a fabulous dinner at 1833 Kitchen & Bar. We had a slight issue with the heating system in our room which was quickly taken care of AND Bill took the time to explain the whole system to my fiancé so we can incorporate thing we like and do not like into our home we're currently building!!! The next morning I had a lovely yoga practice while my fiancé slept in and then we enjoyed the scrumptious granola bars, Ithaca yogurt, juices and coffee! We then had a lovely walk about town and Wells College before lunch at 1833 Kitchen & Bar and then back to the Schoolhouse and Basecamp for a History of the Finger lakes with Mike! We then headed back to the inn for a little Happy Hour chat with Anna again before an amazing experience with Grace at Aurora Cooks. Our dinner demonstration with Grace was phenomenal!!! We learned a lot and she gave us some great tips on the appliance and cookware for our new home. Another breakfast with Anna before heading home this morning! So much fun and relaxation!!! We arrived…read moreon a Friday and stayed through Monday so we had the pleasure of meeting both Dale and Linda. Both manage, and live, in the Inn during alternate times during the week. I travel for work frequently and am used to being an anonymous traveler. If this is your preference, going to E.B. is probably not the best option for you. Both Dale and Linda make sure that you are being taken care of - that you have fresh coffee in the morning, that you have dinner reservations in the evening, that you have a walking map of the town. It was such a refreshing experience that while it was my first time to the E.B. Morgan House - it will certainly not be my last. As the previous reviewer mentioned, there is a wine and cheese hour every day. This is an opportunity to meet the other guests and taste local wines. The first couple days we were there, most guests kept to themselves. The last night we were there we met all the other couples in the house who gave us excellent advice for places to go in the area. So don't be shy! The rooms themselves are beautiful. There are only 7 rooms and luckily Dale let us see a couple that weren't occupied while we are there. We stayed in the Room 4 which is a corner room with a view of the village and the part of the lake. One of the other guests mentioned that it was liking having your own private lake estate. I couldn't agree more.

Bathroom had a very nice shower and the water got nice and hot the way I like it. Bed was extremely comfortable and I slept like a baby each night I was there. I didn't hear any of my neighbors. Spa was also very nice. Highly recommended for the use of the private hot tub alone! There were a lot of kids during my stay and it was nice to be able to escape from them on the other more private side. Please note! There is a free shuttle that's included with your stay that goes into the town every hour. That was super nice! There are also free s'more supplies at the front desk to be used for the fire pits in the back!

We knew it was a gamble and things would definitely need to worked on or tweaked. I went to the spa for the day and while both my massage and facial were great, the rest was not. All of the outdoor amenities were closed. The small hot tub in the relaxation area was crowded. I also had a similar experience as another reviewer where I had minimal explanation or tour. I did not realize until this last time I visited that you had to ask for the salt room to be turned on. I had no idea what I was doing sitting in a confined room with some salt on the wall? I was shocked at an $8 delivery fee for a beverage one flight up! We were going to have dinner at the restaurant but after looking at the menu, hearing how expensive it is, and seeing only one table dining, we decided against it and took the complimentary shuttle into the village. We did have after dinner cocktails at the restaurants bar which were fantastic, but the restaurant was still empty. We spent the night and the room was fantastic. I recently attended the spa with some friends and honestly can't say much has improved since my original visit. When I arrived they said I was there for a 1030am facial and a 430pm massage. I said no that is incorrect I booked them back to back. The woman at reception stated they have a confirmation phone call that someone spoke with me and I confirmed. I 100% never received a phone call/voicemail from the spa. I never would have confirmed this either as I wanted the services back to back timing. She then went on to say, they left me a voicemail. So I say they didn't speak to me, but now it's they left a VM? I also did not have a VM. I went through my 100s of spam emails and found a confirmation email, unread and never confirmed. The receptionist was kind enough to offer a "one time complimentary cancel", gee thanks. There clearly are some issues with their booking system. We also never filled out the spa forms which I think should be mandatory for all guests, especially if people have medical or health concerns. Never once did they ask me to fill it out prior to my services. We did get a tour this time which was ok. They have these new barrel saunas which cost an additional $95 for 50min I believe!! I find it strange there is not one clock to be found. I don't like to carry my phone around and it would be nice to know what time it is so we are able to be in the relaxation area in time for our services. We had lunch in the restaurant in our robes, because we refused to pay a delivery fee and wanted something more substantial than the mere few spa snack items. I had the pizza on special and espresso martini which both were phenomenal! My friends also enjoyed their dishes. My one friend ordered a daiquiri but what she received was a margarita. They were accommodating and corrected it. Overall, two pretty meh visits. Unless they improve a lot or the prices come down, I'm not sure I'll visit again.

The decor was charming, with beautiful linens and incredible artwork on every wall, which were painted by our host. There were chandeliers in nearly every room. The bathroom was clean and modern with an abundance of towels and some toiletries. The fireplace was digitally powered and such a treat when it got chilly at night. Guests were free to lounge in the sitting areas throughout the house. The main living room had an impressive library of books. Breakfast was served at 9am. Our host was so doting and served us on lovely china. She offered fresh berries, homemade cream, scrambled eggs, bacon, french toast, and buttered toast. WiFi was fast and our room had a smart TV. The place was not spotless. A bit of dust and bugs here and there, but it was comfortable and the host was delightfully kind and welcoming. Definitely a gem for any traveler in the area.
