Fabulous stay at the E.B. Morgan house these last 2 nights. We just needed a little getaway from it all and the Inns of Aurora Collection is the perfect place for it. We started our visit with walking tour of the houses with Sean who we could tell absolutely loves his job. He spoke so passionately about everything and was super knowledgeable. We then had a lovely happy hour chat with our inn keeper Anna before a fabulous dinner at 1833 Kitchen & Bar. We had a slight issue with the heating system in our room which was quickly taken care of AND Bill took the time to explain the whole system to my fiancé so we can incorporate thing we like and do not like into our home we're currently building!!! The next morning I had a lovely yoga practice while my fiancé slept in and then we enjoyed the scrumptious granola bars, Ithaca yogurt, juices and coffee! We then had a lovely walk about town and Wells College before lunch at 1833 Kitchen & Bar and then back to the Schoolhouse and Basecamp for a History of the Finger lakes with Mike! We then headed back to the inn for a little Happy Hour chat with Anna again before an amazing experience with Grace at Aurora Cooks. Our dinner demonstration with Grace was phenomenal!!! We learned a lot and she gave us some great tips on the appliance and cookware for our new home. Another breakfast with Anna before heading home this morning! So much fun and relaxation!!! We highly recommend visiting and taking advantage of all the activities the inn has to offer! read more

It was my husband's 40th birthday overnight celebration and it was everything we wanted and more at the E.B. Morgan house & at the Inns of Aurora in general. Maddie was a great Innkeeper and the house was immaculate. The house is right on the lake and even though it was chilly, we enjoyed sitting by the water, sipping wine and watched the sunset. I completely regret not putting sleep aside when we arrived home from our dinner at the Aurora Inn restaurant to sit by the fire and make s'mores:( Next time for sure! On day one, we had an amazing experience at AuroraCooks! with Grace as she led a unique Butter Tasting! We drank sparkling wine and tried butters from around the world. The butter was great and the instructor, Grace was fantastic! I would definitely sign up for another event again at AuroraCooks! We also enjoyed a historical tour of Aurora by Dale. The information was amazing and we could have stayed on the tour for another hour. Dale is super knowledgable and entertaining. Do yourself a favor and visit the school house to learn more about the activities that you can participate in when you stay. We also had a couple's massage which my husband and I both agreed were the best we had ever had! I will add a review for 1833 Kitchen & Bar on their Yelp page, but ask for Ben as your server and he will take amazing care of you! We will be returning to the Inns of Aurora! read more

My boyfriend and I just returned from the most wonderful trip to the E.B. Morgan House. We arrived on a Friday and stayed through Monday so we had the pleasure of meeting both Dale and Linda. Both manage, and live, in the Inn during alternate times during the week. I travel for work frequently and am used to being an anonymous traveler. If this is your preference, going to E.B. is probably not the best option for you. Both Dale and Linda make sure that you are being taken care of - that you have fresh coffee in the morning, that you have dinner reservations in the evening, that you have a walking map of the town. It was such a refreshing experience that while it was my first time to the E.B. Morgan House - it will certainly not be my last. As the previous reviewer mentioned, there is a wine and cheese hour every day. This is an opportunity to meet the other guests and taste local wines. The first couple days we were there, most guests kept to themselves. The last night we were there we met all the other couples in the house who gave us excellent advice for places to go in the area. So don't be shy! The rooms themselves are beautiful. There are only 7 rooms and luckily Dale let us see a couple that weren't occupied while we are there. We stayed in the Room 4 which is a corner room with a view of the village and the part of the lake. One of the other guests mentioned that it was liking having your own private lake estate. E.B. Morgan House - Bed & Breakfast Near Me - Aurora, New York

The EB Morgan House was everything we were expecting. Room 4 was small but I loved the decor. Beautiful Mackenzie Childs chest in the bathroom with a single shower. I loved working modern fireplace in the room that you could turn on/off with a remote! I turned it on in the morning and at night. It made the room glow. This room has excellent light with windows on each side. I especially liked the window in the bathroom that provided great light while showering. In the room, you have two set of windows,one facing the village (east) and another facing the south. You get beautiful sunlight through the east windows in the morning. The tv, dvd, and cd player were cleverly hidden in a wall desk that was multifunctional and elegant. The closet was curved making it spacious and had shelves for placing your items. Overall loved this room. The second night we stayed in a lake view room 3. It was bigger than room 4 and had a couch and table. The layout of this room was not quite as nice as room 3 but it did have a beautiful view of the lake for sunset and morning light. For some reason I did not like this room as much as Room 4. The bed was awkwardly positioned so that the side table barely fit between the wall. Also the full desk sat between the bed and the bathroom making it difficult to get to the restroom. The canopy bed was angled so that it was difficult to see the tv in the armoire. Overall, the layout of this room was just off. The bathroom was smaller but it did come with a double shower which is fun as both you and your significant other can shower simultaneously.The fireplace also had a glitch and could not be remote controlled. Overall, I would suggest a rearranging of the furniture in this room. Gorgeous view though. The house itself is beautifully decorated, I wish my house would be designed by this interior decorator! I loved the use of colour throughout the house, in the fabric on the furntiure, flowers, paintings, rugs, etc. Beautiful integration of Mackenzie childs pieces in the rooms, hallways, kitchen countertops and as dishes for enjoying muffins and coffee in the morning (starting at 7am) and wine and cheese at 5-6pm. I love the colour, design, elegance of this place with the right mix of mackenzie childs. The only thing about the decor I did not like were the paint bucket paintings in rooms 3-4. I didnt really care for them, although I do like modern art. They seemed out of place in such a beautifully decorated room. Wine and cheese was very enjoyable on the backyard facing the lake. They provided a mixture of cheeses and red/white wine for your enjoyment. The sunset was beautiful the second day (first day it was cloudy) but it was a little chilly so do bring a blanket with you to enjoy. Dale, the innkeeper was helpful and there when you needed him. We had dinner at the Aurora Inn the first night and I found it delicious. Very upscale and pricey. My bf however did not like how they cooked his pasta/lamb and was very unhappy, ruining our dinner. The manager however was aware of his poorly cooked dinner- pasta was undercooked, lamb was also undercooked bloody when he asked for medium WELL and comped us his meal. This restaurant has real potential in the dishes they create, flavor profile was great. Now they just need to be able to execute the chefs creation. Breakfast here was lovely especially out on the patio. The lemoncello pancakes are delicious and are a must have! The french toast was not as good as I had hoped so skip it. Ruby red grapefruit drink to top it all off (stay away from the white grapefruit, it is bitter). The second day we were able to use the bikes around town. They just received two new mountain bikes that day. The tandem bike was fun and a little challenging to use as you have to coordinate with your significant other but fun nonetheless. The beige mountain bike was made for taller people as the handlebars were a little far from the seat for me. They also have a pier and kayaks but in the spring, the lake was closed. The lake was high due to a lot of rain in the spring so we were unable to use the kayaks. Also the lake is still cold this time of year for swimming. The leaves are barely coming in at this time of year. Summer/fall would be more ideal for visiting. The little town of Aurora is quaint and quite charming. I love the renovation that happened here and the town should be thankful. It makes the aesthetics of the town quite pleasing. The town is small and does not have much in it so dont expect much entertainment here. They have one other place you can have dinner at- Fargo Bar and Grill where most of the locals are. They serve typical bar food- burgers, fries, sandwiches with a couple of daily dinner specials (grilled steak, fish). I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious but very filling. I could not finish the entire sandwich. My bf ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and it was even better. Crispy but not greasy with just enough spice. read more

One of the best hotel experiences I've had in a while! My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights and could not have been happier or more comfortable. The entire house and our room was beautiful, clean, and charming (not small, just cute!). The two innkeepers we met, Emily and Renee, were friendly, accommodating, and so much fun to talk to. They were quick to remind us about the complimentary wine and cheese hour each night, where you get one glass of wine or beer per guest and some cheese to pair it with. Highly recommend! We stayed in Room 5, which was super cute and had a double shower and a fireplace. The rest of the house was so beautiful, and the outside area was a great way to lazily pass the time and watch some boats go by on the beautiful river. Totally worth the 5 hour drive. Every second of it. I spent my 24th birthday weekend here with my boyfriend and it is the most romantic place I've ever been. It's very homey and the perfect destination if you're looking to get far, far away from the city. The Bed & Breakfast style atmosphere makes you feel very well taken care of. If this place can be that beautiful in the middle of rainy, muggy April, I can only imagine what it's like in the full blast of summer when your recreational options include tandem biking, canoeing, and more. My husband and I had the MOST spectacular evening and experience staying at the EB Morgan house along with private dining at the Roland house. The staff was so wonderful and welcoming (Rose the Innkeeper and Brittany the hostess), the properties were so beautiful they can only be described as enchanting. The artwork and decor in every room leaves you spellbound trying to take it all in. The lighting cast on each intentional piece of furniture and work of art was like a choreographed symphony of illumination. Simply awe inspiring. Simply one of the finest places we've ever stayed! Dale is a great host and can get anything done for you. The rooms are spectacular! Beautifully appointed in every way. Marble bathrooms for each guestroom. The staff is the best. Evening turndown services even found some clothers hung or folded. Soft classical music playing on each room's Bose system. We stayed at the EB Morgan House for the long weekend and I really enjoyed it.It is face to the lake, the house itself is beautifully decorated, the furniture,fireplaces, paintings, rugs...it really does make you feel relax but in an such elegant and romantic way. (I also added some pictures so you can see). The Housekeeper Linda is wonderful. It was wine and cheese in the afternoon and coffee/tea/muffins in the morning.Plus,they left chocolate on our pillow when we are out for dinner....oh, I have to mention it, the bed is so comfortable I had good nights sleep:) Overall,it is a great place for me as a new yorker to getaway from the city. read more

The E.B. Morgan House is operated and owned by Aurora Inn and is only a few houses down. The innkeeper is Linda. She is the sweetest and most helpful woman in the world! She takes the time to make sure that your stay is as comfortable and memorable as possible. Check-in as at 3:00 p.m. My fiancee and I arrived at around 3:00 p.m. and was promptly greeted by Linda at the door. She sat us down in her office (which was probably Mr. Morgan's living room/reading room) and talked with us, and asked us about our plans. I forgot to make reservations for dinner at the Aurora Inn, but she said it shouldn't be a problem and called in for us right away (the website suggests reservations 48 hours in advance). The rooms are adequate in size, and some rooms have a beautiful lake view of Cayuga Lake (our room, Room 7) and some rooms have double showers too (AWESOME!). I don't know if this always happens, but the Sunday we arrived there was wine tasting and a cheese platter set up by Linda at 5:00 p.m. Aurora and it's surrounding towns are very quiet, so choose the right time to come. We went during our anniversary weekend, and most attractions were closed. But, that's okay, we just wanted to relax and take a break from a busy city life. Definitely a five start experience, I highly recommend people to get away at the E.B. Morgan House. read more

We had a great time staying at E.B. Morgan House. We wish it was closer to the NYC area, and we'd definitely go more often. Dale was so welcoming and accomodating. We stayed in Room 5, which had a remote-control fireplace and a really nice bathroom with a double shower. There was wine and cheese at 5 p.m. which we enjoyed on our first day there, and coffee/tea/muffins in the morning. The maid service was great; they turned down your bed every night, left chocolate on your pillow and put on a nice relaxing CD for you to come home to. We used a living social deal, so breakfast was included for the 2 nights of our stay at neighboring Aurora Inn. The food there was great; we were also able to enjoy dinner there with our deal as well. We ate dinner overlooking the lake; it was relaxing and romantic. It's located on the far side of the lake from most of the wineries, but there are nice things to do on your side, like visit the Mackenzie Childs factory (they use furniture and dishware at E.B. Morgan house, and it's so pretty). There are several restaurants in walking distance as well. read more

Wow. What can I say? We have a company strategic planning session here for a few days, and I don't think I've every stayed anywhere more comfortable. It's a beautiful home atmosphere with a very well done decor. The rooms were spacious, and large comfortable bathrooms. Each room has a gas fireplace so you can control the ambiance. The parlor and dining room are absolutely beautiful. The lake views are magnificent. So, the facilities are great, but the real icing on the cake was our hostess. Michelle was amazing. It's not that the service was good, but it was beyond any expectation. We were going on a tour of the local wineries, and had hired a van service. Michelle packed us a back of snacks and drinks for the trip and provided umbrellas in case of rain and put them on the van so it was there when it picked us up after lunch. Not only did she meet any of the needs we had, but she anticipated what might make the stay more comfortable. This kind of service could be very addictive. read more

From driving up to the Morgan House, to driving away, this was the the best experience we could have hoped for. Every detail was paid attention to including many that far exceeded our expectations. Linda, the innkeeper, greeted us with a tour upon arrival and graced us with wine and cheese each night. She also provided turn-down service complete with rose pedals,, chocolates and a quote about love and marriage each night. There was also naturally flavored water provided throughout the day. We also enjoyed a marvelous dinner and kayaking through the Aurora Inn which was fantastic. The highlight of our honeymoon experience was sitting out right on the lake listening to soothing classical music while enjoying the breathtaking sunsets, all the while hearing the gentle lapping of the waves. This is THE perfect romantic gateway in the Finger Lakes. Both the inner and outer beauty of this inn makes its guests feel like royalty at their own private retreat.
