Just one of the three course delicious breakfast served to us.

Barristers deserves every star and more. We came as guests that have stayed in previous B and Bs but this one is the one we will remember always and can't wait to visit again. Wonderful rooms (we stayed in Erins retreat and Zuzus yellow rose room). Diane and Ken the perfect hosts for this historic beautifully decorated home. Ken's breakfast is a gourmet 3 course breakfast that he truly enjoys preparing for his guests. Diane is the host that knows how to make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. All her baked desserts are so good. I loved the coffee, tea and cookies that are set out In the dining room for guests to enjoy anytime. I will be dreaming of her ginger cookies until we come again. You will definitely enjoy your stay at Barristers!

Me and my wife stayed at Barrister's for a weekend. It's a nice little 5 bedroom bed and breakfast place set in a traditional Victorian house. The rooms have a themed vintage look. We stayed in the Yellow Rose room (Zuzu Bailey aka It's A Wonderful Life reportedly stayed there). The amiable owners, Diane and Ken went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and made us feel as part of their family. The rooms were clean and well equipped. There was no TV in our room and it was good to spend some quality time, reading and away from media. The breakfast was included and the gourmet meals were freshly prepared daily by Ken and Diane using local ingredients. Diane is an amazing baker and we loved her Danish pastry. The downtown area and restaurants are just a 2 min drive (or short walk in summer) from the place. We certainly plan to visit again and would love to stay at Diane and Ken's Barrister B&B again.

My good luck streak with recent Groupon purchases continued with a total steal of a deal at this gem of a Bed & Breakfast in Seneca Falls, NY in the historic Finger Lakes region. I bought the Groupon in February as a Valentine's Gift for my wife - I would suggest booking as far in advance as possible to get the best deal for a room at the beginning of June (they don't accept Groupon reservations from mid-June to mid-September). This was my first trip to the Finger Lakes region and I really enjoyed every minute of our two day weekend there. We arrived on Friday night on a late check-in and Ken, one of our hosts, greeted us at the door and gave the rundown on the property and the region. We were excited to get a VIP pass for local wineries that we used on Saturday. The property has a huge front porch and a nice outdoor patio area to the side of the house. The property itself is very quiet and his a grandness about it that has not faded over the years. PRO TIP - Help yourself to the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies that Diane leaves in the dining room during the evening (I ate just about all of them every night :) ). Ken and Diane live on the property so they are never far if you need anything. Also, there is a fridge on the second floor if you need to keep things cool for an extended period of time - very handy. Our room was the Yellow Rose room, which apparently was the room that one of the actresses from "It's a Wonderful Life" stayed in. Seneca Falls has a "It's a Wonderful Life" festival every year in December and some of the actors and actresses used to stay at the Barrister's back in the day. We found the room to be very comfortable - a large king bed, with pretty much all the amenities you would expect at a quality B&B. The room is at the front of the house, so a couple of notes - 1) The window dressing is authentic to the period (ie. lacy), so it doesn't block out a lot of light from the street outside, so if you need darkness for a good night's sleep, ask for a room in the back, it may be a little darker. 2) Speak of the street, there is a surprisingly consistent level of traffic on the street outside, even at night, so if you are a light sleeper, bring a fan or something to create white noise to help diminish the sound of traffic. Food - you will not be disappointed in the food if you like hearty breakfasts. Normally I have a pretty light breakfast at home, but it is nice to indulge once in a while when on vacation. Ken and Diane clearly take pride in their cooking. Each breakfast included three courses and they try to source as many ingredients for their culinary creations from local producers (and organic when possible) - see my pics. Bottomless coffee, tea and juice keep you fueled and satisfied as well. It was great to meet fellow B&Bers, the largest contingent being from Pennsylvania and more than ready to talk large about Pittsburgh's quest for their fourth Stanley Cup (Go Pens!). This is an A+ B&B and you will not be disappointed if you stay here. It is a great home base for checking out wineries in the region or seeking out a good hiking trail in the area. Enjoy!

Duane and I went to Finger Lakes to vacation and marry in Seneca Falls. We stayed at Barristers BnB. Diane was so warm and friendly, and knowledgeable. Ken was easy going and helpful. They even bought us a cake to celebrate Our Special Day. Loved the tour Ken gave Us. Overall I was very pleased with parking, the beautiful tree lined street was romantic. Porch was just renovated and who doesn't love a Victorian Clean Home. Thanks guys for everything. Yummy treats made by Diane and delicious Rosemary potatoes by Ken. Sweethearts. Loved our Grandmother's room, great bed n bath was perfect. Felt like home.

This B&B was amazing! We stayed in the Yellow Rose room and it was quaint, clean, comfortable and quiet. There is some road noise but I slept like a baby anyway! Diane & Ken are the nicest people, super knowledgable and super fun! The breakfast was amazing and the snack time cookies were delish. We had a great stay and we'll definitely be back!

We did notify them that we'd like to do an early check in seeing that the concert opened doors at 5! My husband also notified the b&b that I had an allergy to nuts and apples. We arrived around 4 pm and we had to ring the bell. We were greeted by a woman who did not introduce herself but we surely introduced ourselves! We were met by a very gruff woman who was the owner! Made sure to tells us no food in the rooms or drink! Use the common room! Being very accommodating people and very much the rule followers we said ok! Once in our rooms we found ourselves whispering, and my husband actually said why are we whispering, I quickly reply that that woman scares me! The house and our room was gorgeous, clean and well appointed. There were lots of places to sit inside and outside. We never took advantage of those, and also given that the owners always hung around the public spaces we understood why the other guests all waited outside for breakfast. (Not using the china, of course) To make a very long story short the owners are very over bearing! Both are crass and not welcoming! We could not use the "good" china outside of the dining room! My husband asked for orange juice and he got none, I drank mine and didn't feel comfortable to ask for more! There was suppose to be water available to all guest, when there was none, instead of offering to get us some they argued with each other about why there was no water! My husband and I just said Diet Coke is fine! We just grabbed our stuff and left! It must be noted that we are not new to bed and breakfasts! We have actually stayed in quite a few! We have always felt welcomed and more than comfortable! Not the case here! When you are not comfortable asking for orange juice there is a problem!

We started our visit with walking tour of the houses with Sean who we could tell absolutely loves his job. He spoke so passionately about everything and was super knowledgeable. We then had a lovely happy hour chat with our inn keeper Anna before a fabulous dinner at 1833 Kitchen & Bar. We had a slight issue with the heating system in our room which was quickly taken care of AND Bill took the time to explain the whole system to my fiancé so we can incorporate thing we like and do not like into our home we're currently building!!! The next morning I had a lovely yoga practice while my fiancé slept in and then we enjoyed the scrumptious granola bars, Ithaca yogurt, juices and coffee! We then had a lovely walk about town and Wells College before lunch at 1833 Kitchen & Bar and then back to the Schoolhouse and Basecamp for a History of the Finger lakes with Mike! We then headed back to the inn for a little Happy Hour chat with Anna again before an amazing experience with Grace at Aurora Cooks. Our dinner demonstration with Grace was phenomenal!!! We learned a lot and she gave us some great tips on the appliance and cookware for our new home. Another breakfast with Anna before heading home this morning! So much fun and relaxation!!! We highly recommend visiting and taking advantage of all the activities the inn has to offer!

Maddie was a great Innkeeper and the house was immaculate. The house is right on the lake and even though it was chilly, we enjoyed sitting by the water, sipping wine and watched the sunset. I completely regret not putting sleep aside when we arrived home from our dinner at the Aurora Inn restaurant to sit by the fire and make s'mores:( Next time for sure! On day one, we had an amazing experience at AuroraCooks! with Grace as she led a unique Butter Tasting! We drank sparkling wine and tried butters from around the world. The butter was great and the instructor, Grace was fantastic! I would definitely sign up for another event again at AuroraCooks! We also enjoyed a historical tour of Aurora by Dale. The information was amazing and we could have stayed on the tour for another hour. Dale is super knowledgable and entertaining. Do yourself a favor and visit the school house to learn more about the activities that you can participate in when you stay. We also had a couple's massage which my husband and I both agreed were the best we had ever had! I will add a review for 1833 Kitchen & Bar on their Yelp page, but ask for Ben as your server and he will take amazing care of you! We will be returning to the Inns of Aurora!
