As is usually the case in good B&B, Corey & Mark were super hospitable and helpful, but not intrusive.

We really looked forward to eating here based on the outstanding reviews. Unfortunately, we were…read morevery disappointed with our experience, food quality and the food portions for the extremely high prices. We called to make a reservation, but were told one was not needed for a Thursday night. We were also told to not be discouraged by the number of cars in the parking lot based on a meeting that was going on in another part of the building. When we arrived, there was no hostess, but a sign read, "please seat yourself". As we sat at one of the tables there was only one other four top that was occupied. It took about 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. This was a different person than the one assisting the other four top. I would note that she failed to acknowledge us or great us the three or four times she entered the room. We ordered two bowels of the NE clam chowder and an order of onion rings. We ordered the chicken tenders with fries, chicken parm with spaghetti (we were told they had no other type of pasta to choose from) and fish and chips. The soup and onion rings arrived first. The soup was good but not the best. It did taste homemade, but lacked the great flavor you would expect. Our first issue really appeared when we received the rings. It had a total of seven rings, included some rather small ones made from the bottom/top of the onion. This was unacceptable for a price of $14. Likewise, they did not taste homemade but a frozen type you could make at home. When our meals arrived we were again disappointed by the portion of the side of fries for the chicken tenders and fish. They also did not appear or taste handcut and consisted of a small hand full for each entree. The fish and chicken tenders were cooked well, but again lacked seasoning and taste. I was unsure if there is an onion or potato shortage I am unaware of, but the amounts provided as an appetizer and for our sides did not match the price paid. The chicken parm was likewise tasteless and consisted of one piece of chicken and store bought pasta. All-in-all it was a $105 bill, with three waters. We were also presented with a 3% surcharge for using a credit card, which would have been nice to know prior to paying. Although this appears to be common practice for small food businesses, I never had this charge assessed at "higher" end restaurants, as it is becoming more uncommon to carry that much cash anymore. Based on the above, we will not be returning. There are so many other restaurants in the area that are far superior in food quality, portions, and preparation for the price. Moondance is just a few miles down the road, which is one such option and Skaneateles has many others.

Prices for rental are reasonable and the staff there did a great job of working with us every step of the way. And thank you again for making sure we had a working keg-orator on site! We really enjoyed the scenery there, and our guests had nothing but compliments of how beautiful the place was. The little barn for the cocktail hour was an absolute hit! Everone loved the boat-bar and the decorum of the space, really a neat little area for folks to hang out and enjoy! Without a doubt if we had to do it all over again, we would have no hesitation to book with you! For those who are looking for a place where they do EVERYTHING for you, this is not that kind of place, nor should it be. They do lots of the heavy lifting for you though, thats for sure. But you'll have to do the set up yourselves unless you want hire people to do it for you (ala wedding planner style). And you'll also have to provide your own alcohol permit for the day of your party. Not a big deal, you can get that online through NYS pretty easy, even from being out of state its not a hassle at all. The one drawback, is that there's NO Air Conditioning in the place. And when its hot out, that place can get pretty hot! For years, September months in the Fingerlakes were cooler. But these past few years its been getting hotter and hotter. Our wedding day it was in the mid 80's and muggy so it made it a bit unbearable to be in the back room area (where the band is). When the sun went down, it got a bit cooler, but it was still hot overall in the bldg. If the folks @ CM read this, that is one recommendation I would make - invest in a solid Central Air system for your hall; a system that you could possibly let people rent (in addition) for their party, or just charge a little extra for each party booked. Also, your A/C units in the rental houses on the property are sub-standard. Again, small investment which would make a huge difference for your guests. So for those of you looking for a beautiful, quaint, and overall enjoyable place to hold any kind of celebration, I would strongly recommend Chantelle Marie! Thank You Again! Geoff & Jenny

We arrived on Friday night to attend the rehearsal and dinner afterwards. The grounds are beautiful, the houses that the bride and families stayed in were immaculate, warm and inviting and gorgeous! The food was delicious and the staff was so nice. The wedding on Saturday could not have been more perfect. The outdoor set up for the wedding itself was just beautiful. Looking over the lake provided a glorious view. The bar is a perfect set up! The reception hall was large, open and airy and at no time felt crowded. Again the food was delicious! And the wait staff was so nice. What I enjoyed most was that they were polite"

A husband and wife own this place and they couldn't have been more friendly and hospitable. They had. A nice selection of dry and some sweet wines so there was something for every taste. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a cozy, down-to-earth atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We started our tasting with their unoaked Riesling, a bright and lively wine crafted from grapes grown along the shores of Seneca Lake. It had an enticing aroma and a clean, crisp finish that really highlighted the natural fruit flavors. Next up was the LaCrescent, a white varietal that was refreshingly dry with a subtle citrusy edge and just the right amount of acidity--perfect for sipping on a cool afternoon. After that, we moved on to the Cayuga White, a semi-sweet offering that had a beautifully smooth mouthfeel and a well-balanced sweetness, making it an easy favorite for those who enjoy wines with a hint of fruit-forward character. Finally, we wrapped up our tasting with the Maréchal Foch, a deep, dry red with rich notes of black cherry and a velvety smooth finish. This one stood out as a great example of how lesser-known hybrid grapes can still deliver bold and elegant flavors. During our visit, we had the pleasure of chatting with the owner (at least, we believe it was the owner!), who shared some insight into the winery's operations. He explained that they grow three to four different grape varietals in their own vineyards, while supplementing with additional grapes sourced from other vineyards throughout the Finger Lakes region. It was clear that there's a strong sense of community among winemakers in the area--he described it as a "big happy family" that collaborates to support each other through every step of the winemaking process. One of the most interesting tidbits we learned was about the live musician performing that day--not only does he provide entertainment for visitors, but he also plays a huge role in the winemaking process, handling 80-90% of the work at the winery! It was incredible to see such a hands-on approach, where passion for both music and winemaking came together in such a unique way. As for the owner himself, he had an infectious sense of humor--quick-witted, engaging, and full of personality, he made our experience even more memorable. The winery is relatively small and appears to have limited hours, especially in the winter when it's only open on Saturdays. If I remember correctly, they may extend to two days a week during the busier months, but it's definitely one of those hidden gems that's worth navigating to if you're in the area. All in all, Izzo's White Barn Winery turned out to be a fantastic stop, offering a delightful mix of great wine, warm hospitality, and local charm. It's the kind of place where you don't just taste wine--you get to experience the heart and soul behind it.
