Not a great selection for men's wear, but still, perfectly placed Thrift Store.

Do you have jazz CDs? Things like Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers?

Hi John - It's all driven by donations so we should have those, but it just depends on what is donated and when. Thanks.

Do you accept vhs tapes?

Hi Danielle - Sorry for the delay, yes, we do. Thanks for donating!

Do you accept slide trays?

Yes, we do. Thank you!

Prices were very reasonable- I snagged a leather Patricia Nash bag for $20! They had good variety of sweaters, pants, skirts, accessories, and dressier items, all women's though. Well curated and will definitely be back!

Located in Harvard Sq., they seem to be a pretty busy spot. Parking wasn't hard to find in this area on a Sunday. Upon entering, we were greeting by one of the workers. There was a clearance rack that they placed outside next to the entrance. Once you walk down the stairs, to your right is where most of the clothes are. Solid selection of denim & leather jackets, a little pricey compared to Goodwill/Savers but makes sense because they are more of a "vintage" clothing store. To the left of the stairs is where they have denim jeans & where you go to check out once you're finish with browsing. All sales are final like most thrift/vintage second hand shops. I found this denim jack with a brown leather collar today for $60. Thick & good quality. Lots of Wilsons leather jackets here. They also have a room with bins of clothes, for a low price, you can look through. I didn't have much luck with the bins, but seems like a lot of people did! Highly recommend.

Retrospect is a vintage and thrift store in Harvard Square and one of the better curated secondhand…read moreshops in the Cambridge and Boston area. We walked into a space that covers clothing, furniture, lamps, jewelry, vintage tech including audio equipment and cameras, and housewares. The range across those categories is genuinely broad for a store of this size. The clothing leans toward well preserved vintage pieces rather than the more chaotic mixed inventory we have seen at larger thrift chains, and the curation reflects real attention to what ends up on the floor. Jewelry is priced affordably, and the watches come with resizing and battery replacement available, a small service detail that makes the secondhand watch section more accessible than it would otherwise be. Furniture and lamps are all for sale alongside the clothing, which gives the store a layered quality that rewards slower browsing. Pricing is reasonable for the quality and condition of what is on offer, particularly given the Harvard Square location where most retail runs at a premium. For vintage shopping in Cambridge, Retrospect is the kind of place that rewards repeat visits as the inventory turns over consistently enough that something new surfaces each time.

Scored a new tweed driving cap, new silk braces, and a gorgeous, like-new top-of-the-line Brooks Brothers tie (an amazing emerald green with itty-bitty paisley thingies) all for about $50. The tie has become one of my favorites (and I am persnickety about clothing --- for my work quite formal attire is required). And the staff, all half or one-third my age, were totally cool and treated me like any other customer. Didn't make me feel at all dinosaurish. Loved that. So go, go, go to TGD. Even without teenage daughters.

Instead, Garment D. Is Organized, spotless and straight-up vibey. Two full floors to roam. Hot-pink walls, black-and-white checkerboard floors like stepping into an 80s music video. It's quirky, loud and proudly vintage. Everything's sorted with precision: pants with pants, denim with denim, tops with tops. These folks don't play around. And yeah, the majority of the clothing here is all use. But like I always do- I buy my stuff, take it home (or the cleaners), wash it and it snaps back looking like new. By the way- they do carry some new items- as in not used as well. My daughter and I bought some vintage denims, sweaters and a few other things. Zero mess. Zero stress. 100% unexpected.
