Beautiful view of the water and of the planes descending over the water to land at the nearby airport. As we've discovered while on holiday here, the overall quality of food (ingredients, preparation, cooking and presentation) in New Zealand is above par! You can see and taste the freshness in everything you eat. The food at Frankton Arm Tavern is no exception. We had the cheesy bacon fries, chicken wings, and kids mac and cheese (of course). EVERYTHING was delicious - especially the wings. They were perfectly cooked with a thick, sticky, sweet, bbq sauce on top (a little tang would have been nice, but they were delicious none the less). The girls, unfortunately, didn't like the mac and cheese. Unfortunately (for them) the cheese wasn't cheddar (or processed cheddar), maybe edam instead, and it was flavored with herbs and cumin.
