    Good, local beers

My husband and I just hungout and had some pints on our last morning in New Zealand (sad face). This place is so relaxing to just sit outside and people watch and enjoy the scenery. Very nice bartenders and the inside appears very cozy. We sat by the outside fireplace since there was still a chill in the air. We really enjoyed this place!

Food was great, especially for a bar and walk-up service. Live music was fantastic as well. The lasagna with bechamel was sooo good! My husband had the beef Wellington said it was over cooked and sides were ok. They will not substitute sides. You order at the bar and they do not wait on you other than delivering the food. Highly recommend if you are looking for a lively place to spend some time.

My friends recommended this place since all their entrees were only 20 nzd. We ordered 3 dishes to split among 3 people, the beef wellington, salmon fillet, and south island lamb. Each dish had meat, carbs, and greens, creating a well balanced meal. All the entrees tasted amazing, but the lamb was my favorite. The lamb only had a slight lamb taste to it. The beef was quite tender and almost too raw on some parts. The salmon fillet was crispy on the outside especially the skin, and still juicy on the inside. You can't go wrong with ordering any of the three.

Tl;dr: Solid food quality with reasonable portions and prices. The service was not great but not terrible. Free wifi and clean bathrooms! Found this place on Yelp and chose it because it had reasonable prices and a kids menu. Strolled in at 2pm on a Sunday after flying in to Queenstown. Lots of seating available inside, but all of the tables outside with views of the water were taken. We sat ourselves inside and waited for a bit until we called over the waitress and asked her for a menu. She informed us that we order at the counter. Maybe it's because I'm a tourist/noob and unfamiliar with NZ restaurants or just restaurant-bars in general, but it was unclear that you order at the bar. During the rest of lunch, the service was fairly inattentive, but when we asked for things, they did the job. We waited for our food while using the fast free wifi (500mb per login, which you have to ask for). The bathrooms in the back were clean and next to a few slot machines in the back. I didn't use them, but it was a cool touch. Then our food came, and it all looked delicious and reasonably portioned. In our group of 5, we got the kids chicken nuggets, fush and chups, lamb backstrap, 3 hours slow cooked beef, and garlic loaf. Overall, really pleased with the food. None of us walked away hungry. The fries that came with the fush and chups and the chicken nuggets were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The slow cooked beef was very tender and moist and was essentially a steak; it came with roasted potatoes and coleslaw. My lamb was not really what I was expecting (I don't really know what I was expecting), but I still enjoyed it; the couscous was especially flavorful. I really liked the bread used for the garlic loaf, but I wish I had more garlic flavor.

Live music, random friends, red wine. Good night.

Came here to meet up with European friends I met up in Rotorua. We were all leaving in a few days, so we picked this place for the live music and good location. We only drank, so the only thing that I can talk about is the pricing on glasses of wine or beer. I personally drank wine ($10-$11/glass) which, for me, is quite a bit considering I can buy a decent bottle of wine for $15. The beer drinkers said that their beers were $10 also, which, again, I think is a lot. It may be the bar, it may just be New Zealand... They had PLENTY of space available, both outside and inside, so if you wanted a large space for all your mates to meet up, this would be a prime spot. Large tables inside, benches along the wall, tables outside, live music throughout the week (our guy, Dave Arnold, was really good). And that's all I have to say about that.

Delicious!! Friendly and quick service and a nice view with both water and people watching. I had steak and it was amazing! Pro-tip for an American visiting the area... this spot (and several others in NZ) have you order and pay at the bar before sitting.

not a fan of lamb normally but everyone raved about lamb in NZ i still put it off because i just really dislike that gamey taste and didn't want to risk it but on our last day, we were at this pub and i decided to order it just for kicks wow not gamey at all better than most lamb that i've tried in the states even at super high end restaurants and it was only $20 NZD (like $15 USD) cheers!

Great true pub right on the waterfront in Queenstown. Huge bar with snarly staff (very friendly but true bar folks). We sat at one of the bar tables on the patio and had several cocktails watching the world go by after 3-weeks in NZ. Great relax and chill surrounded by other tourists, locals and boat folk getting their drink on. I admire a true pub versus the hybrids. Good drink menu with some interesting cocktails but really good at pouring Jameson neat with a sly grin.

Lamb in the background. Pork belly at the front

After walking past this place a couple of days ago and looking at the menu we decided to have dinner here tonight. My boyfriend had the lamb which was good and I had the pork belly; unfortunately my meal wasn't great. The pork was tough and the 'crackling' was so rubbery. Id say if you go here, order something simple. Food was reasonably priced though.

The Guinness beef stew is amazing! The drinks selection is strong, especially if you're in the mood for a good pint of Guinness or Kilkenny, and the bartenders keep things moving even when it gets busy.
