Goddard School of Denver - Review
Concerning Business Practices @ The Goddard School of Denver
This review is to provide awareness to questionable business practices at the Goddard School of Denver (1400 S. Emerson Street , Denver , CO 80210). [https://www.goddardschool.com/denver/denver-emerson-street-co].
The intent is to share our personal experience related to the Goddard School waiting list and ensure all expecting parents [potential customers] are aware of a process lacking transparency and integrity.
Our story starts like all excited parents begin their childcare journey, a positive pregnancy test. Once the expected due date (March 16, 2020) was identified we began touring childcare providers. The Goddard School of Denver is a childcare provider in the neighborhood that enjoys a terrific location and an abundance of customers, waiting in line for enrollment.
On September 24, 2019 we toured the Goddard School of Denver and were informed a waiting list option was available to lock in a spot for enrollment in March, 2021. On the same day we paid $150 to reserve a spot on the waiting list. We realized this would mean alternative care would be needed until March 2021, but we were willing to be flexible for what is presumably a childcare provider that has an abundance of customer options.
On February 29, 2020 our son was born. I contacted the Goddard School of Denver on March 3, 2020 to update them and inquire about our position on the waiting list and expected enrollment date. Matt Anderson, Executive Director at the Goddard School of Denver, responded "I would guestimate there being space for your son when he is closer to the age of 2.5." This would translate to "guestimated" enrollment date of September 2022!
Based on Matt's response, from the time we reserved our spot on the waiting list on September 24, 2019 to the date of March 3, 2020 our expected enrollment date grew by one year and five months; all while we enjoyed our purchased position on the Goddard School of Denver waiting list.
I inquired with the Goddard School of Denver on three occasions to our ordinal position on the waiting list. Each inquiry went without a response from the Goddard School of Denver. It is at this point I realize the waiting list lacks transparency and integrity concerns of the Goddard School of Denver grow. I realize the Goddard School was eager to collect a waiting list fee and then demonstrated an unwillingness to communicate our position on the waiting list. When I requested an explanation for the precipitous drop in enrollment date Matt Anderson responded "There is no way to provide an accurate date this far in advance because there are so many factors involved."
It is at this point my integrity concerns for the Goddard School of Denver are confirmed. I have engaged in a transaction in which the Goddard School of Denver is unwilling to articulate any of the factors that impact the waiting list and incapable of transparently sharing our position on their waiting list. I requested a refund of our waiting list fee in exchange for withdrawal from their waiting list program. My request has gone without a response from the Goddard School of Denver.
My reason for providing this review is to illuminate the integrity issues plaguing the Goddard School of Denver and ensure potential customers are informed and educated to the waiting list practices before they become a Goddard School of Denver waiting list victim.
As you consider your childcare provider ask yourself if lessons in integrity are something you value and want to ensure are instilled in your child. Then ask yourself if the Goddard School of Denver demonstrates the integrity you would expect.
Please proceed with caution as you consider your childcare provider and the individuals that will be shaping the character of your children. It cost me $150, but fortunately I was able to learn how the Goddard School of Denver demonstrates deception, ambiguity and unresponsiveness before our sons' character was influenced by the Goddard School of Denver. read more
