Been here a few times in the past. Recently visited after moving out of state five years ago. Ironically the vibe of this place never changed. Not one person greeted me when I walked in (which to an extent is a huge pet peeve of mine). What made it worse was eventually an employee (I believe the owner) looked me right in the eyes and didn't say anything and just ignored me. They had some good comics hanging on the wall and stuff seemed fairly priced. But honestly customer service and feeling welcomed goes much farther to me as a customer. If I don't feel welcomed or wanted then why would I bother wanting to give you my money? I'm not sure how people stay in business when they're not social with their customers. read more

this store is terrible. every time i walk in and greet the owner of the store he doesn't even acknowledge my existence. No enthusiasm what so ever I'm not sure if he dislikes his life but when you're in sales it is very important to engage with your customers and have a positive attitude. the service is extremely poor. selection is far and in between unless you're a comic person. there are never any deals or sales but that doesn't matter to me as much as the customer service. I would not recommend this establishment and if you don't believe me go there and see for yourself. i don't ever see myself spending another dime there and won't. good luck my brother if that's how you treat your business and customers i hope it brings you great success for the future of your small business and your employees. it's a shame. I've been going to The Goblin's Cavern for quite a few years now. What I love most about this place is that I have (with some frequency) found some absolute treasures here that I had never even heard of before and some I couldn't find on eBay. For me, the fun of a comic shop is digging around and finding something special like that and they keep a lot of odd, interesting items on the shelves (comics, GNs and figures/statues). Plus a deep bench of $1 bins, back issues and alternate cover issues makes a trip always worthwhile. read more

I enjoy The Goblin's Cavern for its selection of comic books. It is my local comic shop, and as a collector, I believe the staff does an excellent job at handling and selling their books. Everything I came across appeared to be priced at fair market value; they managed my pull list well and pulled all the things I would be interested in. read more

very nice place with kind and helpful staff, i went in there with my daughter recently to find a spider-gwen comic and the woman at the counter showed me where they were, frankly im not sure what Bob D. is talking about, i heard her great at least four people while my daughter was browsing. read more

I've only been here a few times, so I can't really speak for anything tournament-worthy, or comic book-worthy (since I don't collect), but the atmosphere here is really great. MTG products are laid out for you in binders by set, they have a glass case up front for all the higher priced cards, and the staff is super knowledgeable about what they have in stock, which is all a huge deal to me. I've also heard that they recently expanded their store, which is super cool if they plan on hosting larger tournaments. Not only that, but you can place orders on their website and pick them up at your own convenience. I have yet to do so, but a friend of mine does it constantly and tells me that it's so much more worth it than sitting there sifting through cards. Yeah sure it might be a bit difficult to find from the main road since it's in a shared business building, and you might even pass it while trying to find it, but if you want a great experience at a comic/book card collector shop, this is your place. read more

I walked into this establishment with my six year old son yesterday March 20th 2021 late afternoon, we walked through the doors and were not greeted with any warmth by anyone in the shop. Some lady behind the counter could not be bothered and some guy in the other room but still behind the counter looked at us like, what the hell do you want?! We hung out for awhile, browsed, but we were never engaged by anyone that worked there and never felt welcomed. Said hello to Mikey (TMNT) and cripplingly introverted worker looked at me like I was mentally unstable. Explained he "doesn't deal with that stuff", and didn't know of a place that I could trade them in. My first impression of the place was the outside; no sign, nothing in the window except a small Gatecrash poster. One step inside, and I was overcome with an aroma of body odor and urine. Their wall comics were mostly sun faded from being on the shelf for half a decade, and priced four or five times retail. They have a handful of magic cards on display, and less than a handful of action figures. One long box of dollar comics, and the rest are $4 and up, though they are commonly dollar books at any other store. I would never frequent this establishment again. read more

I think this is a great comic shop, I'm a new collector and they have a lot of $1 bins...ranging from x-men to Spider-Man and many others. Don't judge the gentleman behind the counter he really knows his stuff and if you ask for help he is happy to help you with selections and recommendations! If you are looking for some oldies he has those as well along with the new 52. Check this place out if you are in the cohoes, Waterford and Troy area!!! You won't be disappointed read more
