My luck a month later the other eye had floaters so I immediately called, got in and found out the other eye had a retinal tear. Phillips -read all the reviews, considered his specialty, and location and of course took our insurance. Tic, tic toc..all the boxes and reviews met my expectstions. Called and got an appt for the same day I called - at his Clinton, location where he was ate ending that day. I got there late and a little blind bc I missed my exit like twice LOL. I was even preparing myself to not be seen for my tardiness but I was seen relatively soon after I completed my paperwork. The check in staff was very professional, the office was clean, quiet, and comfortable -there were even snacks in the "inner" wait room. I met with Dr. Phillips- he was personable and knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I was sure I'd found my MD eye specialist. My followup visit was to the Bowie office which was closer. I WAS ON TIME :) The Bowie office too was inviting, clean. And quiet. The staff here, too, were patient, they are working to smooth somemhiccups and train new personnel, but in all it was a really great experience. Again I met Dr. Philip and he was he same "on point" thoroigh self. The office is set in what may be a new office building space. The building lobby is cool.

After calling several offices, I was unable to get an emergency appointment. Thankfully, when I called Capital Eye, Dr. Mark Gonzalez recognized that I needed to be seen and was able to schedule an appointment right away. Let me first mention that his staff was extremely nice (which is important since they are the first impression for a doctor) and they seem to work well together as a team. More importantly, I found Dr. Gonzalez to be WONDERFUL. He was very friendly, pleasant and thorough with my examination (even when he chastised me for wearing my lenses overnight). He explained my condition without me having to Google to understand and contacted me the next day to follow up. I really appreciate the care I received and I am happy to entrust my eye care to him. I would recommend Dr. Gonzalez (and his staff) HIGHLY.

(Looking back- I am happier it worked out this way- no flap!). The staff and Doctors are extremely personable and friendly and truly made me feel comfortable, which is important in any setting, but especially when your eyes are involved it is a bit of a scary surgery to commit to. I drove all the way from Vienna VA to go to this office and would absolutely say it was worth the drive. I would recommend to anyone who is considering lasik or prk to go here. Everything is very clean, and professional and they explain everything thoroughly and take their time. The office is very busy, but I never felt like I was just another patient. Something else I really liked about the office is that they keep it dark.(not DARK but they don't use a lot of bright fluorescent bulbs) Sounds weird, but after surgery or after having your eyes dilated this was a nice added bonus. A good example of how I felt they went the "extra mile" The fact that they did enough testing to decide that LASIK wasn't the best choice for me was impressive. I have had two doctors tell me that LASIK would be fine, but the testing they did was not nearly as extensive. I am grateful because I probably would have just gotten lasik, even though it isn't the best option for my eyes. Kind of scary to think there are doctors out there that will just do a surgery without paying that much attention. I am glad now that each time I thought I was ready for the surgery I chickened out, so I could finally find this office. Highly, Highly recommended!

Wow, I was on hold waiting to schedule an appointment and the reviews popped up! I am shocked and…read moresadden to see so many people rate this office so low. I have been coming to the Bowie Office Probably Over 10 years! I have to admit, there are times when I have had to hold for 10 minutes but I have never experience the rudeness or disrespect. What I have experienced is calling my doctor at the beginning of Covid19 because I was very sick. However because I did not have a high temp (my norm runs about 95, I was at 100 for me, it was high.) I was not considered a priority at the ER! I called my Dr. at MPC in Bowie, who told me to come to the back door, took my temp, took the nose swab and sent me back to the ER with a note! I was told, don't read-it, give it straight to check-in. I don't know what it said but I was finally tested and had Covid. I know, when I was a new patient and saw my Dr. I was given labs early afternoon which included blood work. My doctor, read my labs and left a message that I needed to come back to the office and she would wait for me. I got the message after 7pm but went by. I was pre-diabetic and she wanted me to have medication on the cruise. See she remembered a previous conversations about me trying new deserts when I cruise. I can call my Dr., send messages for my mom, dad or myself and get answers or appointments. BTW - she/they treat my parents and my husband. There have been changes with the staff but I have no doubt, it will be corrected. They take great care of us.

This office has gone down. I have been going here for years and it just seems like no one cares…read moreanymore!!!! I drive over 45 minutes to come to this office. It takes forever to get your prescriptions/referrals correct and then you have to wait for months if you need an authorization. Some of the front desk staff are very unprofessional! I have left several messages regarding different issues that I am experiencing and no one ever returns your calls. I am not sure who is doing the hiring for this location but someone needs to do better screening and hire people that love their job because the people that I am speaking to are not professional. There are a couple of people that have tried to help me but for the most part, this office needs help and they need to do better.
