I was a bit skeptical due to the location being inside of the town center, however I had no issues parking inside of the garage located closest to Target, and then taking a short walk. The young lady that assisted me with my eye tests was amazing! I always get anxiety prior to the glaucoma examination, however she was super patient with me and made sure I was comfortable before proceeding. Now for Dr. Shields: VERY personable, knowledgeable, patient to say the least. He took his time, explained everything to me from the health of my eye, to making recommendation for Lasik, answering my questions. Overall the customer service is a 10/10 SUPERB

My comment is well that is funny my eyesite is worse than I have ever experienced. in my life. I cannot now drive at night. I had a car accident, the 'glasses' do ZERO for close up near sided reading in fact they are a hinderance and I have to remove my glasses to read anything - BUT, to really read anything I have to have a magnifying glass for everything. Well.....oh well, sorry - but I then said I am going to a true high end nationally known Eye Surgeon in Florida - she says, oh good idea. I have been asking for my records for weeks. First, in person - filled out the form - she reluctantly took it and said she would get my records. 3 weeks later - nothing. I call - and, oh, Dr Xu said, she will have her 'office manager' get those for me. that of course never happened and never followed up and you cannot reach anyone. I have had to then 'call this apparent, records department' and they claim they never got my request for my records. But no, I have called many times. My favorite part is I call this 'records'; desk - and they refuse to email me - I have to email them, just that's their policy.. Messages, emails, no responses - and this is my Eyesite they just can't be bothered with such a huge emotional physical problem as someone's eyesight. I made a mistake and came to my appointment 2 hours early and he happily made time to see me and didn't make me feel like I had intruded or rushed him. Even the staff were pretty nice - giving me honest advice about the frames and telling me that I might want to look somewhere else given my needs. I also left piled high with coupons and samples. I'm so happy I found this place. Extra bonus - check out the framed letter from the astronaut in the lobby - who it seems he also helped.

Kelsey was such a sweetheart greeting me when I checked in and helping to do the initial tests when I arrived. Dr. Simoncini was so kind and informative, explaining everything every step of the appointment. He was very encouraging during the exam, and I learned a lot about my eyes that I had never had explained before (what is an Astigmatism, why are "floaters" called that and why do they exist?). Plus all of the staff are friendly and helpful. I recently had a problem with my right eye which scared me. I woke up with sticking and tears streaming from my eye and I had problems seeing clearly from that eye. I thought it would soon go away but it didn't, it actually got worse. The following day I went into Thompson Eye Care but Dr Gerald wasn't there so I saw Dr Kathryn. She was super helpful and gentle with my eye. She ran thorough exams and explained everything she was doing. By the time she was through my eye felt a bit better and she called in prescription which I picked up that night and I was told to return the next day. The following day my eye felt better but still had the same symptoms this time I saw Dr Gerald who greeted me and told me Dr Kathryn apprised him of my problem. He ran a couple tests and took photos and he explained what he was seeing. He asked me some questions which made me realize that I had wiped my eye with a tissue and it scratched my eye. This caused the discomfort and an infection. This is the reason I have been coming to this place for my eye care. This father/daughter team is super able to make me feel taken care of. Over the years I have had my eye problems handled effectively, they are both patient and helpful. I actually know a couple of neighbors who also come here and they both love their services.

(I'm sure my nail prints are still embedded in the arms of the examination chair, lol) After several monthly appointments to check my retina's progress, I was given the "all clear" and now I am to be seen on an annual basis. After the procedure it did not look like enough skin was removed. We thought the swelling had to go down. This doctor said all the swelling was gone and he only removed what insurance would feel was necessary. WHAT??? That's not what was requested. It's the same procedure with a little more skin removed.
