Rainbow Glass & Trim

Rainbow Glass & Trim

I've been meaning to write this review for a couple of months now. One of my pet rabbits…read moreaccidentally broke the glass door to a media cabinet where our TV sits when he was running his morning laps around the living room. Luckily, it was safety glass, and neither he nor anyone/thing else (except the door) was hurt in any way. Of course, then we had to figure out where to go to replace it. Enter Rainbow Glass & Trim. I took the door that was still OK to them and asked if they could replace it. They said yes, and added that since it was tempered (the aforementioned safety glass), it would take a few days extra since they had to send it out to someone who does tempering. Time passed and they called to say my door was in. However, when I got it home, we found that it was just slightly too tall to fit. I brought it back and explained what happened, and they IMMEDIATELY apologized and said they'd make a new tempered glass door that should fit. No additional charge, since it was their mistake. A few days later, the new door came in and it fits perfectly. So not only did this company give me excellent service; they did so in a difficult situation, where things didn't go perfectly. Some people could have been like, "Tough luck, lady," or been really rude about it. Not Rainbow. They also do custom leather and seat cover work for cars/trucks/motorcycles/etc. The samples in the customer area looked really nice, so I may be back for some of that in the future as well! :)

The person I spoke to was incredibly rude when they could have just kindly explained why. Interesting business model.

A couple of years ago I hired them to replace a broken window. Vlad was here most of the day and…read morereplaced the window, caulked and painted for $500. It was done beautifully. So I called them again for a stairway window that was leaking air and in poor shape. I made an appointment but their truck broke down. I was very understanding and said they would call when fixed. Oxsana let me know they were coming on Wednesday. I had wanted him to come out before and assess the window, but he wouldn't do that. He finally showed up at 1:30 for a morning appt. Since I have mobility issues, he went up to look at the window. First he needed a place to work from so I said he could use the garage. Then he asked for paint. An hour later he was at my door telling me he was finished. I made my was upstairs and almost nothing had been done. Never needed any work space and no painting either. The windows were leaking to the point that it was taped. Basically, all he did was unstick the window and nothing else. I pointed out the tape and he said he hadn't noticed it. That's his job. He went back and caulked the edge of one window. For this we paid $450. My neighbor went to look at the work and was appalled. I was embarrassed. We feel completely ripped off. Asked for a receipt that was never sent. We are now hiring another company to do it over. Save yourself a lot of grief and don't call them.
