I went to Safelite in Addison, IL, to get my windshield replaced due to a crack on the passenger…read moreside. After checking in, the technician told me they needed to run system checks on my car before starting. He later came back and said a code came up, and they could not proceed with the replacement, and that I would need to contact my dealership first. When I asked what exactly I needed to tell the dealership, he said he couldn't remember off the top of his head but would send me the information. Four hours later, I still never received anything. When I went back out to my car, I noticed a second large crack, separate from the original one, on the driver's side of my windshield, which was not there when I arrived and walked into the building. I went back inside to inform the receptionist. While I understand that cold temperatures can contribute to cracks, this was not there when I got out of my car, and I was not informed about it at any point while the technician had my vehicle. While the windshield was already cracked and needed replacing anyway, it was extremely frustrating that this new crack was never mentioned to me. The receptionist told me I would be "fine to drive," but again could not explain what I needed to have done at the dealership and said it would be sent to me (which never happened). I then called my dealership myself, and they had no idea what Safelite was referring to. They told me codes are typically addressed after replacement and calibration, not before. Overall, this was a very poor experience with a lack of communication, unclear explanations, and an additional crack that was not acknowledged. I will be going to a different company for my windshield replacement.

"30-40 minutes", and that was with an "appointment". How does it take 30-40 minutes to assess a battery when you have a scheduled appointment? It does not. The one good thing about Belle Tire is that they have self-service air available 24/7, so if your tire pressure is low this is a good place to visit.

How do you give a review BEFORE a job is complete? That makes a lot of sense. Don't trust their rating on Google. HAD to pay only in cash, too. Prior to beginning a job, the customer should be consulted about what will be done and if there are any special situations with the install for my specific vehicle, as all vehicles are not the same and require different methods. I was not consulted about anything before the job. Only after the job is complete they tell me the back window was difficult and they tried four times. They claim my car is very difficult to do and usually requires the back panel be taken out. But they didn't take the panel out so they claim they did the best they could (which was terrible and uneven). By the way, they dented my speaker in the back (probably during one of the four times they tried to do a simple install). Went back to complain and the boss said there was nothing he could do and that it's a fantastic job. He had the audacity to tell me he'll do my other car that I left there for a few days after picking up my tinted car, and he tells me he'll give me a good price on that other car as well, after I just got done complaining about how I was unsatisfied with the job. That should tell you everything right there about his motives: money, and that's it. Went back to complain a second time and they were very unprofessional and refused to give any kind of refund. A worker managed to tell me he doesn't know what I do for a living but I can't afford a good tint job and have no real money cause I'm asking for a refund. Boss never responds to my calls or texts.
