I went to Safelite in Addison, IL, to get my windshield replaced due to a crack on the passenger side. After checking in, the technician told me they needed to run system checks on my car before starting. He later came back and said a code came up, and they could not proceed with the replacement, and that I would need to contact my dealership first. When I asked what exactly I needed to tell the dealership, he said he couldn't remember off the top of his head but would send me the information. Four hours later, I still never received anything. When I went back out to my car, I noticed a second large crack, separate from the original one, on the driver's side of my windshield, which was not there when I arrived and walked into the building. I went back inside to inform the receptionist. While I understand that cold temperatures can contribute to cracks, this was not there when I got out of my car, and I was not informed about it at any point while the technician had my vehicle. While the windshield was already cracked and needed replacing anyway, it was extremely frustrating that this new crack was never mentioned to me. The receptionist told me I would be "fine to drive," but again could not explain what I needed to have done at the dealership and said it would be sent to me (which never happened). I then called my dealership myself, and they had no idea what Safelite was referring to. They told me codes are typically addressed after replacement and calibration, not before. Overall, this was a very poor experience with a lack of communication, unclear explanations, and an additional crack that was not acknowledged. I will be going to a different company for my windshield replacement. read more

Scheduled a mobile service for a windshield replacement. Day before service I get a call saying they don't have my glass and it would need to be ordered. Scheduled another mobile appt when I got notification that the windshield was in. 2 days before I get a message to confirm my time window for mobile service to arrive. Morning of service date I get a text to go to their service center in Addison 2 hours prior to drop off time. Unable to make it and had to cancel my appointment. If you actually want your windshield replaced in a timely manner go elsewhere. read more

I took my BMW to Safelite with a 9:30 AM appointment to have my windshield replaced. The website states that it takes 1-1/2 to 2 hours to complete the replacement. The manager tells me it could be all day, much to my dismay. I decided to leave it anyway. 15 Minutes after I left the vehicle I get a call from the manager stating they could not do the work as the did not have the seal required to replace the glass nor could they get it, i would have to go to the manufacturer of the car. They knew the make and model and year of my car. You would think that they would know that they need the seal to do the job. What a waste of time and effort to get a simple task complete. I reviewed the wrong location, sorry. It was the Naperville location. read more

Safelite was great! I was able to schedule an appointment online. They came on time. The person installing the windshield was nice and communicative. We had an issue with our windshield not being sealed completely, so there was a whistling noise. We contacted Safelite, and they came out the next day to fix it. Honest and friendly! I am always hesitant about getting work done on my car because there are so many businesses out to up charge you and suggest unnecessary repairs. My experience here was exactly the opposite! I was greeted immediately and they were able to fix the problem I was having (recalibrated the camera on my windshield). I made an appointment on line for a very small chip on my windshield. Showed up to Addison on time for my appointment. The tech/manager said sometimes/rarely the cup expands with a very small crack they seal but not often. 1 hour later he couldn't believe after he left my car with whatever pressure unit they use that my entire windshield is cracked top to bottom. If I like he can order in a new windshield. What??? I came for the tiny chip and now suddenly I need entire windshield replaced. How convenient if your in the windshield business. Way more profit when my insurance now pays for a windshield vs a $159 dollar chip repair. Best part, he said he wasn't even going to charge me for the chip repair ... well... because they cracked my entire windshield. So nice of them. Stay away. You have been warned! read more

Safe lite Autoglass of Addison, IL did an outstanding job replacing our windshield when we visiting our daughter over the holidays. We took the car in the afternoon before our appointment and explained we were planning to return home the next day with a 5 hour drive to get home. We asked if we could get moved up on the schedule to earlier in the day on Friday. Susan the scheduler said she would try. Our car was started first thing in the morning and was done by 9 am. We got on the road and were home by 6 pm. We had insurance to help pay for the repairs and the cost was reasonable. read more

Not happy at all. my insurance had them as a preferred vendor and they are in same town so I used them. went online snd was told to make appointment. Put in my day where it said appointment available so I clicked yes. Then I find out it's just drop off and they have til 5 pm to get it done? That's insane. Its a quick replacement. Called twice. Never get the location you are at. Keep hearing the same thing about drop off appointments. I said I wasn't given a choice. Anyway car is finally done at 4:45 and now my remote start doesn't work. They now had to fix that. Never again read more

SHOULD BE ZERO STARS!!!! We cracked our windshield and went online to set up the appointment. The customer service person at the front counter was the most uncaring and unskilled person we have ever seen. She lied and manipulated to get people answers and then couldn't remember what she told them. Worst employee we have ever witnessed in a business. They never explained anything we had to show them the quote we got and explain it to them. If we have to do your job why are you there. We will never go back to this location if she is still there. I would not trust her with a box of Kleenex let alone a business. Good luck Safelite she is costing you more than you realize. read more

Took me in early for my appointment before they were even open. The windshield looks perfect. They even reattached my village sticker and oil change reminder as well as put new Velcro on my IPass so it would stay in place. The new premium windshield wipers are high quality, too. The price I paid is competitive with some of the cheapest glass shops in the area. Could not be happier. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Find another location or service provider. I wish I could give them ZERO stars. Horrible customer service. Had to get my windshield replaced; filled out the information online and made the appointment. First excuse I was given before the appointment or before even meeting them in person was the weather. Rescheduled for the following week. Dropped off my car in the morning and was told it would take 4-5 hours; never received any updates or a phone call until I called them before they closed. Car was not ready; left overnight and it still wasn't ready the next morning. Long story short, they installed the incorrect windshield. Could not recaliber my car due to their error. They charged me for the windshield and I had to take my business elsewhere. Jennifer is terrible. She has no customer service skills, she lied and gaslighted me the whole time. Saying it was my fault that the windshield was incorrect; which makes zero sense. DONT GO HERE. read more

Can't say enough good things about these guys! We were in a time crunch heading out of town and online booking was full. I stopped by the office to see if maybe they had a wait list or something and Jennifer at the desk was Great! She worked magic and got the windshield ordered and got us scheduled for an install the day before we were leaving, a 2 day turn around. Mike was our installer and a really good kid! Did a great job but we had one little glitch with the install. I caught Jennifer again at end of business for the day and she sent us right over to their other location in Wood Dale to fix the issue. They were waiting when my husband got there and two guys took the truck right away and fixed it in no time. Can't say enough about our experience with these folks and would highly recommend them!!! Do not go here!! We scheduled an appointment. They knew what kind of car we had. After 3.5 hours they tell us they cannot complete the repair. We have to come and leave our car for ANOTHER 3 hours next week. Last time we used them they put the wrong review mirror in our other car. Why did I think this time would be different??
