I've been here a couple of times and the experiences have ranged from okay to really good. I got a…read moreshellac manicure with a design and the nail technician did a really good job on the nail shaping and nail art. Only issue was that the technician had another appointment coming so she was rushing and didn't really do my cuticles or clean up the edges so I had to do that when I got home. My nails do look good however for $45 I expected a bit more especially since the places around the area do complimentary hand massages (which they didn't offer this time around).

Really disappointing first experience. To sum it up, extremely sloppy work…read more Usually I visit LNG nails two doors down but they were busy so I stopped by Mimico Nails Bar and they took me right away. I got a shellac manicure for $30 + tax. The filing tool was also used to remove the old shellac once my nails were soaked with acetone which left the nail bed lumpy. Filing tool was further used to remove the cuticles (poorly). She then shaped them with a nail file. Next my nails were soaked in a bowl of cold water and the cuticle nipper was used to (again, poorly) clean up the skin around the nail. At that point she stopped to do some detail work on a girl sitting next to me, so I assume this person is one of the more skilled workers at the salon. I didn't mind waiting, but I got a chance to take a look at the work so far. I was worried because she was moving so quick without attention to detail. I asked if I could use the cuticle nippers to fix a few things, but another girl had said she wasn't finished and she would go back in to do the cuticles. When she came back she she went back in with the nippers on dry skin, leaving dry torn pieces of skin all around the nail, and still lots of cuticle left on the nail. She then went in with the shellac, leaving the edges sloppy around the sides and the cuticle. Her solution to this after three coats was refiling the nails, which left them all different lengths and shapes. The cuticles were still left sloppy. The whole process (with the break to detail someone else's nails) took about a half hour. This was easily the worst manicure I have ever had. And although this was only the work of one individual I won't be going back.

For that reason I'm giving one star because as nice as the ladies were if they can't do the job properly it doesn't matter.

My husband gave me a gift card for Mother's Day to use on anything the spa offered (he's a winner I…read moreknow). So I called last week to get a little bit of run down on what they offered and to see what the best bang for my buck was. I ended up booking a "refreshing facial" and a "relaxing massage". She told me they give a 15% discount for first time guests and that my total would be $140 for both services. Triple freaking whammy!! A facial, massage, AND a discount?! Totally excited for it as I don't EVER get to do anything for myself (I'm a stay at home mom who's family also doesn't live here), as I'm with my daughter all day. So again, SUPER excited for this. I get there, the place is BEAUTIFUL. The lady who did my facial and massage was AMAZING. She was super nice, caring, and did a fantastic job. I would have given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for what would next and the phone call after. I go to pay bill, and the lady I spoke with on the phone, was also working the front desk, and she charges me $151. So I thought it was odd and maybe just didn't hear the total properly when I called, so I left and didn't mention anything. I got home and did the math and couldn't figure out why it was off, so I call today. The lady that was working the front desk yesterday and the one I spoke with previously, answered. I politely said that I thought I may have been over charged and before I could get another word out, she says "absolutely not." So that caught me off guard. She then continues by saying that she applied the discount to only one of the services (that's far in my mind), but that instead of charging me for the "relaxing facial" we discussed, she up-charged me for an "extraction facial" because the lady who was performing it, was taking out blackheads (sorry, TMI). So I tried to ask a question when she finished her sentence, but she then over me, says, "excuse me let me finish." So second extremely rude comment. So I then asked her why I service was being performed that I didn't initially book nor was I even told it was going to be an up-charge? She didn't have anything to say other than that she walked in and that's what the lady was doing. She kept interrupting me which didn't make sense since she jumped down my throat for the same thing. So I basically was being charged for a service I didn't even know wasn't part of what I initially booked. Honestly, I've worked in customer service for 5+ years and this just isn't how you talk to a customer. It bothered me so much that I made this post and so much that I won't return even with the work that was done being good. Customer service is huge and if you don't offer that to EVERY guest, you don't deserve my business.

But today I called right at open for an appointment for a refill and shellac pedi and they were able to take me right away. When you walk in you're greeted right away, so welcoming. Tons of colors available to choose from. I appreciated Susan wasn't super pushy on upgrading, but for it being my first time I wish I would have been able to see the possible upgrades. But will check it out next time. My techs attention to detail for shaping and cleaning was superb. All my nails were even, not too thick, and color was put on clean. I appreciate that! Pedicure was the same. I will be back for sure. As for price, I totally feel like it was such a deal!!

While the work station is being prepared for your mani or pedi the ladies ALWAYS bring a sealed pouch of sterilized utensils and open it INFRONT of you - I love that because you feel confident that the tools are clean. Since the salon is located in a strip mall, there is free parking available. If it matters the salon is located beside a No Frills, Value Village, Once Upon A Child and across the street is Healthy Planet and Dollarama.
