I got them done just before my Greece trip in June because I thought it would be the perfect time to get glam. I wore my lashes throughout my trip (8 days) plus a couple of weeks on top. With the length of time I had them on, I'm confident to give my honest thoughts. I went into the shop three days prior to my flight. I adored the vacation-themed decor, which was definitely in tune with the name Ahoy Lashes. It's a small but quaint shop with music that would transport you to a tropical island. Bella did a full consultation with me before she started. I was very happy that she was very thorough and patient because I wasn't familiar with eyelash extensions. She showed me photos of previous clients so I had a visual guide as she explained the different types of looks. She was honest about everyone's eye shape being different. So even if I got the same set and style as another client, it wouldn't necessarily look the same on me. She gave suggestions based on my eye shape and made sure to cater to what I wanted. I loved the personalized consultation because it made me trust her capabilities and gave me a more comfortable experience. I went for a full set with medium dramatic volume in thickness. They were D-curve lashes and were between 9 to 13 mm in length. By varying the lengths, it created a more cohesive look. I opted for a cat eye look to see how it would turn out on me. I thought I might as well go all out if I'm going on vacation. Bella coated my lashes with a protecting mascara at the end of the session. The lashes and products used are from Korea. I fell asleep when I was getting my lashes done because it was sooo therapeutic! An hour flew by so quickly that the next thing I knew, I had new lashes on. Bella went over how to care for my lashes and when I should expect them to fall out. Prior to this, I only had eyelash extensions done once before a couple of years ago. However, they started falling off immediately the day after I had them applied. I think most of the lashes came off by the end of the first week. So my first experience was a complete fail. Bella told me that the eyelash extensions should last for at least three weeks. She ensured me that I should not be expecting fallout during my trip. So for three weeks I monitored my lashes. The lashes were very long and it took some time for me to adjust to them. Once I did though, I felt pretty bare once they all came off at the end! The unfortunate part was that I couldn't wear any eye makeup during that time as it would affect the integrity of the lashes. There were a couple of things that occurred when I was wearing the lashes. I noticed that about 2-3 days afterwards, my eyes would tear up randomly. I soon realized that it might have been the glue affecting my eyes. I was unsure if my body didn't like the specific glue used or just all eyelash glues in general. This happened about 4-5 more times in the first week where my eyes would sting for about a minute or two randomly. By the end of the first week, it stopped. I also found that my right eye was a bit tender with where the lashes were attached to. This only happened if I touch that area, otherwise I didn't feel it. The tenderness unfortunately did not go away until most of the lashes came off. However once off, the tenderness disappeared and there were no other problems to the eye. Other than those two problems I ran into, the lashes held on amazingly. As promised, there were barely any fallout when I was away in Greece. I only went into the beach once but they held up no problem. The lashes did not start falling out slowly until mid second week. I think the glue is quite strong because the last few lashes stayed on so stubbornly towards the end of the month! I give the lashes a 4/5 stars due to the times where I had tenderness and some tearing, but they stayed on like a champ. The lashes definitely became an added feature to my face and I got used to having fluttery long lashes. The customer service deserved a perfect 5/5 stars! I loved the customization and the wonderful experience I had in the shop. Bella was a joy to work with and I would recommend booking her 100%. Overall, I give Ahoy Lashes 4.5/5 stars. Ahoy Lashes also only charges a set rate for the extensions. Bella did not think that it was fair people were being charged by the number of lashes used because everyone is born with a different number of lashes. Therefore, if you are someone who has been paying too much for lashes, you should take a look at Ahoy Lashes! I do recommend that if you know what eyelash glues your body is averse to, you should inquire with the shop before booking.

Her Web Site is very attractive; the reviews about her work gave me confidence, I found the pictures very artistic, she fit me in her schedule to remove my disgrace, and try to hide the damage the same day. She was really passionate as well as knowledgeable on her craft. I got instant empathy with her because she was extremely friendly, meticulous, plus we share the same birthday (yei). Her bubbly personality made me laugh several times (recommendation: stop by the washroom before laying down). I loved the results and the fact that she also dislikes rap and Drake (good tunes during the whole process). Her magic filled the empty spaces, gave me volume, length, and the promise of putting more lashes when mine grow back. I felted spoiled when I got a 10% off, a cappuccino on her behalf, and no attitude although I was 10 minutes late... (Sorry) Ah, she shares the space with freelance stylists, so if you manage to schedule, you could have one of those marathon beauty days (hair, bye hair, and hello lashes). The original reason for leaving Keiko was because she was getting more busy and the job got a tad sloppier, although for the price she was definitely more affordable. I tried the 3D volume lashes here at Divine lashes and had them for 3 weeks before I had a refill. They stayed on great and lash separation was amazing, (sometimes stylists clump two lashes together). If you take care of them properly(wash them, comb, blow dry cool) they'll last you a lot longer. I opt to go for the natural flair with C curl. My stylist was great, we have a consultation first and she explained to me my maximum length (30% more than my original lashes) would provide me with the longest wear. She was very carefully in understand what look I wanted and told me we could keep changing it as we go on, which I did upon my refill. I decided to try the D curl this time, which was more curly and made my eyes pop more. The facility is small, but clean, and professional. The little things I notice them do that drives them over the top for me is that they carefully clean your lashes before application, provide you with eyelash soap, and keep track of your eyelash status. I typically have more lashes on my right eye and she would try to match it up with my left so that both sides looked even.I highly recommend coming here if your budget allows for it.

I was a little skeptical at first but I saw some of her previous work and thought sure! I needed to get my lashes done so timing was great. Excellent decision on my part! Aliya is wonderful. She's very patient and while the process does take a bit longer with her than I've experienced in the past, she does great work! The first time I went to her I played it safe and asked for a more natural set. But if you've ever gotten your lashes done before, you know the second time around you want more drama. And that's exactly what Aliya gave me on my second visit! I love love love my lashes and I am definitely going back to see her! I used to go to Winks and while they are very good, Aliya is professional, at a better price point and my lashes look just as amazing and have stayed in place as long as they have if I got them done there. Cons: As I said the process is longer and also the bed/table that you have to lay on is super uncomfortable for me. I have a finicky lower back so laying in the same position for more than an hour ends up hurting (I'm a side sleeper!) If you're not like me, you'll be perfectly fine :) But that's the only con. First of all, she's incredibly talented- she wants you to look fabulous but she will not sacrifice the health of your natural lash. I wanted very dramatic lashes- long and full but Mariia explained to me that my natural lashes were too weak and she was concerned that they would suffer damage. Mariia keeps up to date with her training and certifications so she offers unique styles, such as Kim K and also...coloured lashes! I tried blue and purple and they both looked amazing. I thought coloured lashes sounded crazy (especially since I work in a very conservative office) but with her magical skills, Mariia blended in purple lashes in such a classy, subtle way. I constantly receive compliments on my lashes and it's so flattering because alot of people will even question if they are natural, since they don't look overly fake. I must admit, on special occasions, I ask for the Mega Volume and I definitely can't pass those off as my own but as mentioned further up, working up to having healthy lashes strong enough to be at this level was my goal! The whole lash application process can be very tedious, as you're lying down for over 1.5 hours but Mariia is such a sweet and fun person, you will enjoy the conversation as much as the end result. The bed is really comfortable on its own but there is also a memory foam pillow to rest your head on, as well as a very plush, warm blanket, if you get cold. The studio in Bloor West is fairly new so all the signage isn't up yet but it's a really nice, clean space and the decor is modern and chic with girlie touches. There is plenty of parking on the side streets, right along Bloor St or Green P parking lots (there's one right across the street on Windermere Ave).

I gave the beauty house lash girl my lash measurements and hoped for the best. When I opened my eyes, omg I was so shocked- it was not not not what I had in mind. I don't know how each lash artist interprets the lash measurements, but it was not my look. Fine, she was young and maybe she had a style. (I'm in my 40s, and she did not ask me what I was looking for either- but I didn't know you could interpret measurements and how they look). The lashes were so long and crazy looking. When I got home I took a closer look and the lashes were also thick and cheap looking, and there was globs of glue everywhere. She was also finished in less than an hour- totally unheard of for a full set and for doing such a bad job. This is not the job of a top lash artist. They also charge by the minutes it takes to do a relash- but if you don't know how to do the lashing properly, how can you try to be so fast? I say take it slow and do the job right!! I had my lashes removed by a lash girl I have in the interim- she's pretty good. I'm still in search of my next lash girl. I don't recommend the beauty house. It's not up to the level they should be for promoting lash extensions as their main business. They need to improve a lot, or charge a lot less for their skill set.
