There is something about the Everglades....Gators! There is ample parking and outdoor seating. I enjoyed all the beautiful flowers and vegetation. If you are lucky the birds will come share lunch with you. Staff are friendly. The gator bites and fries were delicious. The grill cheese was perfectly grilled and the cheese was cheesy. read more

The atmosphere was inviting. Wasn't expecting outside dining but thugged it out:). Realizing I was in the Everglades was the amazing part. The vegetation was spectacular. The server was hospitable. I got a chance to get the gator before it got me...with the Gator Bites. The food was great and fresh! Thanks for this awesome experience of Florida! read more

Friendly people partnering with the local conservation for a good cause. It's a couple of food trucks with some peacocks walking around. No to go boxes. Minus a star for bird shit everywhere read more

Staff is amazing and the gators are so yummy! Tastes like chicken. You should try! The staff is awesome. They entertained my joke which was cool. I asked if they had freshly cut gator, I mean the fresher the catch the better. Anyway nice food truck! It doesn't disappoint. read more

Had the Gator Basket and Gator Tacos. Both meals were solid. Tacos were great and well-seasoned. Fries were surprisingly very good- well seasoned as well. Grilled gator for the basket was good. Value for the money is where I'm not sure I can recommend it. As a tourist I'm not great but can manage $18 for a couple tacos but if I was local this would never be on my list of where to go. Maybe they're good with living off tourists. Giving it four stars for the food but deducting one for the price. read more

Wanted to support someone local while getting a small bite for lunch. Found that Gator Grill was just a few minutes from my house in Weston. Knowing it's at Sawgrass Rec Park with all of the airboat hauling tourists on joyride through the swamp, I expected things to be priced a bit higher then a basic lunch. Just wanted something new. Had the Mahi sandwich which was exceptionally fresh. I was disappointed with the amount of gator in an order, but it was flavorful. The BBQ tots were a very big let down. Something about them just threw me off. The birds are the biggest problem. They are very bold and some will attempt to land next to you to steal your food. Kind of unsanitary with them all over the tables. Overall was a nice little lunch. read more

Went off the beaten path just to eat at this food truck. Upon arrival we enjoyed the peacocks at the airboat place. Found the food truck just to be told it was open for private group only. Sure would have been nice to know this before we jumped off the highway wanting to try their fish sandwich. Very disappointing. read more

This is way beyond being a hidden gem. You have to go to Sawgrass Recreation and go past the main building and down the hill to the right. At the bottom you'll see the picnic area with two food trucks. I can't comment on the coffee and pastry truck because it was closed. The other truck is the Gator Grill. What a treasure! Try the Mahi fish tacos. Each is made with a grilled fillet, slaw and special sauce. I don't know what's in the sauce but they also had bottled hot sauce that was awesome! Unless you don't like hot sauce, in which case it was still awesome but you missed out. Very friendly staff in a fun atmosphere made this a really enjoyable experience. read more

The ambiance was good. Cute little area to sit and it's shaded, the breeze was nice. If you gator bites, be prepared to order more as it is quite small, more of a snack or appetizer than a meal. The mahi sandwich was decent. The fries were ok. Pretty average for food from a fast by the road place. Not somewhere to go out of your way for. read more

Five stars! For the food and for the look of horror on my vegetarian husband's face when he saw me walk back with my order of gator tacos and gator bites (I brought him back fries). The Gator Grill is a food truck at Sawgrass Recreation Park. There are benches were you can sit and eat. read more

Interesting and simple service for a reasonable price. 10-11$ You get to try gator tacos or gator meat bites. Nothing too special just a reliable service to eat alligator meat. Condiments are typical salt and pepper and some super spicy hot sauce. I think habanero? Friendly cook. read more

2/4/24 11:30am Had a great experience in the park but went to grab a snack before we left and I don't think i have ever been serviced as POORLY as i was at the gator grill, the lady taking the orders was extremely rude to me and proceeded to scream WOW when i didn't leave her a tip, when we when to grab the food it was about 6 little containers and she just smashed the containers on top of eachother and practically threw it at us. Never coming back here read more

Food came out quickly, server was friendly, and the setting was like no other we'd been to. My advice is order enough for you and the birds haha that gator tacos was perfect don't change it! read more

Didn't had the best experience. The cashier/owner provides the worst customer service. Sarcastic comments and un patient. When trying to pay, the system showed to remove card, I did so, but it was suppose to be left a couple more second so it could be processed. The guy got upset with me because I removed it twice. Well If he had informed me, I wouldn't have made him lose 30 more second of his life. The food was okay, wasn't expecting much. read more

Burger tastes like a backyard Burger, fires were crispy, the alligator bites were ok. It's a good stop if you're starving.

The Mahi fish tacos are VERY good and super fresh tasting. The gator bites are tempting to order because it's something different, but honestly they tasted like dry pork so I'd stay away from them. I've heard that the burgers are hand-made and very good but we didn't try those. If you're short on time, you may need to skip this place because it took 40 minutes for us to place our order and then get our food. (The line was about 10 people long when we got into it). I realize that food trucks usually don't have many people cooking, but we needed something fast after our tour and this was anything but fast! I had to take off a star because of the long wait: otherwise it would have gotten a 4-star rating. read more

I was a bit apprehensive about having alligator meat from a food truck, but damn... it was finger licking good! I've tried gator meat before, in Louisiana, and didn't really enjoy it, whereas here it was a night and day experience. Funnily enough, the meat comes from Louisiana too, and is farmed, so no wild alligators were harmed in the process :) read more

This place was so delicious!! Although we may have been extra hungry due to our drive across the Everglades. It also has a beautiful view.

Wonderful gator, bite and mahi-mahi tacos. Beware of the birds one landed on my hand. Service was quick and the picnic bench seating is casual. The grill is within the salt Hill recreation area, which we did not explore, but looks very interesting. read more

A Must try if in the area!!! Gator Bites and Gator Tacos were to die for!!!!.. My fiancé and I recently went to Florida for a Quick trip get away. He has to get Gator Bites every time he goes to Florida, and this trip was no different. So I looked a few places up and we stumbled upon this Gem.. The Truck owner was fantastic, and the food was the best gator we have ever had.. We placed our 1st order and before we even finished we placed another, because we loved it sooo much! The gator is grilled not fried, and was so lovely seasoned!! no doubt in my mind we will be back every Florida trip no matter the drive! Loved it!! read more

Came here after our Everglade boat ride. It's the only food place around, so you kind of don't have a choice. But I'm still glad I ate here nonetheless. Gator Tacos: I absolutely loved these! They were fresh, juicy, tender, and the sauce was amazing. The tortilla was soft, the cole slaw complimented the gators perfectly. These are an absolute must try! Chili Cheese Fries: I'm usually a huge chili cheese fries fan, but these didn't hit the spot for me. The fries not as crispy as I would have liked. And the chili just didn't have that spice or flavor factor that amazed me. Overall: I think if you are here at the sawgrass recreation park, you should definitely try the gator bites at the very least! read more

Delicious gator bites and tacos. We searched high and low for a good place for gator meats while in Fort Lauderdale. We came across this truck while visiting the sawgrass recreation park. This place has more to offer than some restaurants and certainly more than most food trucks! The truck is permanently parked at Sawgrass Recreation Park where they also offer guided Everglades airboat tours. Their cheeseburgers are better than most specialty restaurants and they even have gator bites! Their gator bites are lightly seasoned and grilled as opposed to the average deep fried. You can put the Sawgrass Sauce on ANYTHING and EVERYTHING so make sure you ask for extra! read more

We had just finished our airboat ride when a tremendous storm came in. In the rain at the end of the storm we went to eat. The food at this food truck is phenomenal.
