Thanks for such an amazing time valleyfair!! We loved these memories as a family, it was the first…read moretime bringing our kiddos (6 & 8 years) and they loved it so much!! Plenty of rides in the kids area that kept them busy for hours. Loved that this day the lines were very minimal so we did not have to wait long to get on the rides. Rides were age appropriate but as an adult I don't remember them being so scary! I liked the option of being able to go on some of the kid rides with them. The big thrill rides had much longer lines so we were not able to ride a ton of those but we did get to take our 8 year old on some and she loved it. The picnic area was great, the food was filling and we loved the drink options! Very clean and plenty of seating. The newly remodeled waterpark was amazing. So many new things available for all ages. Lots of seating but a lot of people had their stuff on the seats even though they weren't sitting there so that was a bit frustrating. Lockers are very expensive! Season pass is definitely worth it if you plan on coming a few times, for me the waterpark would be worth it since I can't do a lot of rides anymore.

Logistically, everything is so expensive! The tickets to enter, parking, lockers at the water park, the food/drinks are unreasonably priced (in my opinion). However, it's a fun place to visit and there is lots to do. I recommend arriving as soon as they open so you can have a couple of hours of little to no lines for the rides. The standout ride for me is the Corkskrew, while it looks terrifying with its twists and upside down turns, it's not too tall (compared to other coasters) and it's really fun. We really enjoyed the waterpark, they have a wave pool, a really nice lazy river, many slides and areas to lounge. The food is mediocre, my favorite thing was the Mac and cheese which was surprisingly flavorful!

Wild Thing lives up to it's name. I almost quoted the Troggs to start this review but I couldn't…read morelive with myself so I went back and took it out. (It still applies though.) Running parallel to Highway 101, Wild Thing clearly announces itself as the headliner of Valleyfair. It was the first Morgan coaster, to my knowledge, that I've ridden, and I was a bit leery, thinking it might be annoying rough like old school Arrow coasters can be. While not buttery smooth like some more modern coasters are, Wild Thing passed my test in the turbulence department with flying colors. It has just enough shakiness to keep things interesting. Even the back row was completely enjoyable. The first hill, 207 feet, is a doozy, but the airtime off the second hill was the highlight for me. There was more airtime riding at the front, too, which I found interesting. It was a brisk day when we went to Valley fair with a light rain, and this green monster almost lost my gray winter skullie cap to a mighty updraft. On one of our 4 rides the rain picked up a bit and stung as it hit my face while we barreled through the course. That was actually enjoyable, in a strange masochistic way. The bunny hills after the mid course brake run (more like a 3/4ths course brake run) are a blast and the multi-hill tunnel at the end sets you up perfectly for mugging for the on-ride camera. Even if you don't shell out for key chains and whatnot don't miss stopping at the photography booth on your way out. I've never seen funnier on-ride photos. After just one ride, you can see where that flash in the dark is and do some crazy poses yourself. Wild Thing was never much more than a station wait. (Our first time riding the queue stretched just a little beyond the station.) One of the ride ops was a bit of a hard ass. He tried to walk of shame some kid off the train even after the guy with the measuring stick said she passed. Looking like a sheepish shoplifter, she passed again, barely, and the whole station erupted in cheers and applause. That same hard ass said I couldn't reride if there was anybody waiting at all, even if there was empty rows, after another employee had given moving to an empty row her blessing. Booo! He also made me take my hat off and, okay, he was probably right about that. Wild Thing is nearly flawless. My sole critique is that the transitions between the elements in the middle might be a little too long. That massive turn around looks really cool, and there's some nice hand chopper moments in the ensuing straight away but it's a little long between hills. Wild Thing puts this place on the map. We rode it 4 times, but I could have easily went for a dozen.

The ride was awesome it was flying going really fast and the drop is AMAZING I would deff recommendread more

It has a decent first hill and lots of fun twistiness after. It was a cool, slightly rainy day when my friends and I visited Valleyfair and we really got a nice breeze as Excalibur whipped us around. Excalibur has handsome trains with a nice logo and a cozy spot at the back of the park. (Maybe a bit too cozy. Rumor has it ol' Ex might get the axe so VF can expand Soak City and give the water park it's own entrance plaza and parking lot.) The ride ops on Excalibur were great on the day we visited. Maybe it's because it was opening weekend and the season was new and fresh, but they were doing a great job trying to not send trains out with empty seats and joking around to boot. One dude gave one rider a hard time for being a Cowboys fan and it was priceless. "Enjoy your ride on Excalibur everybody! Everybody except YOU, Cowboys fan! " (Do not reprimand this worker, Cedar Fair corporate types. That sh*t was hilarious!) I liked Excalibur but truth be told wouldn't be too upset if Valleyfair took it down. Well, maybe if it made lines for Renegade significantly longer. Cause Valleyfair has another coaster built atop wood that is exhilarating in a way Excalibur only hints at. We almost rode Excalibur a second time, mostly to enjoy the ride ops schtick but opted instead to to strap into the awesomeness that is Renegade. Get your Last Call on here at Excalibur but it's not marathon worthy like Renegade or Wild Thing.

My boyfriend and I are huge nerds for Haunted Houses and we had a great time at Valley Scare. Yes…read morethere will be a ton of teenagers running around, yes everything is very overpriced and yes every maze has a very long line. But if you can get past those things you'll have a good time. Also, the rides are open so if you want to mix it up with a coaster or two you can. We went the first weekend of the season and it was busier than we expected so I'm sure closer to Halloween it will be very busy. We were able to make it to all the mazes but it did take a few hours. I thought each maze was well done with the expectation of the first one we went into - something about a farm or corn, it was forgettable. All the others were great though - I got a few good screams in all of them. Only real bummer is the additional charge for parking. It's not like you have a choice to park elsewhere and you'd think it'd be included considering the cost of admission. Oh well, it was still fun.

This used to be our favorite spooky season activity, but I think this year broke us. It was one of…read morethe most mis-managed, poorly communicated events I've ever attended. What I THOUGHT my $100+/person ticket bought was an ALL DAY pass. It used to be that you'd show up, pay $X based on what time you were arriving (late arrivals paid less) spend all day in the park, and at some point, the haunted houses opened and the scarers came out- seamless, spooky, and perfect. But, that's not how it works anymore. Now, they kick everyone out of the park at 5:30 and make the people who paid for ALL DAY get back in line to re-enter the park about an hour later. There are no signs to explain where you are supposed to be, and no warning that you were going to be kicked out of the park for the transition. There was a mile-long line for something called Route 76 (where, I guess part of the park was still open, if you paid extra or something, but the park opened back up before most of those people saw any benefit), and a lot of people got confused and got into that line- not knowing what it was. The rest of us were wandering around confused on where to stand and how to get back in. It was chaos. I understand that the idea is to make sure everybody that bought just the daytime passes are out of the park, but this could all have been avoided by a simple wristband. But, I suppose to save 3 cents a ticket, they opted to inconvenienced thousands of angry families. Once we finally got back into the park, things weren't even ready. They had gates up to keep us from moving around freely into the park while they continued to set up, rides were shut down, more mass confusion. Further, they had hardly any scarers in the haunted houses and they were pushing multiple groups in together, so if you were anybody but the first out the 12 people they pushed in at a time, you were literally there for the ambiance. Part of the problem, too, is that they are letting kids of all ages into the haunted parks, and people had literal babies strapped to their chests in line for the haunted houses, and I saw not one crying child, so that should tell you how tame they have made this event in terms of scare factor. (That statement is just to illustrate the problem, I'm not complaining about the lack of crying children). The technology is as outdated as their rides, too. Cedar Point, Disney, etc.. they have apps that show you real-time updates on what's running, estimated wait times, etc. This Enchanted Parks outfit has an app that is basically just their website- a map of the regular season park. They don't even have a map on there showing where the haunted houses are located. In fact, it won't even tell you what hours food vendors are open. It's a complete waste of data, and such a missed opportunity to alleviate the mass confusion and frustration. The only thing they seem to have kept up with the times on is inflation. $22 plus tax for a 6 inch sub at Subway, but- don't worry guys- it comes with a FREE bag of chips. Drink extra...
