It is…read morereally nice and clean inside and everyone is very friendly and eager to help their customers. We got a couple of subs here. They were reasonably priced and quite large. Bread has a nice crust on it. Loved it and will definitely be going back soon. They also sell deli meat and cheese by the pound. They have hot subs as well as cold. I just wish they were open a bit later than 5:30 pm as we sometimes work past this time and then cannot get a sub. It would also be great if their day off was Tuesday as most places in this area are all closed on Mondays so it would be great to have another option. Just throwing that out there. All that said, this is a wonderful deli and I hope they thrive for many years!

In the sea of all that, we wanted to find a local spot for lunch, and we're glad Yelp brought us here. We just wanted a couple of sandwiches. The lady running things highly recommended the Chicken Philly (the kid with her seemed too nervous to recommend anything), and we also got a bacon egg and cheese (SPK). Both folks behind the counter were so friendly, and during the 15 minutes or so we waited for our sandwiches, we were the only people they didn't greet by name. They obviously have a number of regulars, and it's no wonder, because the sandwiches were great. I actually thought the BEC was outstanding, and better than the Chicken Philly. In addition to good sandwiches, they've got local pies for sale, all the chips and drinks you'd ever want, and tables inside and out if you decide not to take your food home with you. It's obviously a local gem, and I'm glad we came by.

On good days, they can serve one of the best sandwiches. Otherwise, I've had several occasions where I was left wondering why my pastrami sandwich was literally two pieces of bread with a small bit of pastrami - no dressing or anything else, and no questions asked. I like the attentiveness of the staff whenever we come here in person whether for diner in or takeaway, and their fresh pickles are wonderfully crunchy and worth looking forward to. They have some delicious pies, too, and the chocolate cream pie is our fave. I would go back, but the inconsistency over time certainly has dampened my enthusiasm that I may have once had.

I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close Geshon's Deli & Caterers. Friday, January 30th, 2026, was our final day. This decision was not made lightly as Gershon's has been an integral part of my life since I was a little girl. After my father's untimely passing, I took over with one clear mission, to honor his legacy, keep his dream alive, and continue providing quality service and "good food for good people." For more than 60 years, Gershon's has been shaped by the people who walked through our doors. Every employee, customer, client, and friend has played a role in our story and our success. Unfortunately, rising food costs, ongoing economic challenges, the lasting effects of COVID, and the loss of my final opportunity this week have left me with no other choice.
