We had the best time here. I think the previous reviews here don't quite appreciate that this is essentially a high-end hotel with excellent food that regularly hosts evenings with top chefs.
Anyway, we had booked the Dog Lovers Escape: off-season two nights for two people including dogs (beds, toys and bowls were provided) for £250 included an amazing three-course meal, all breakfasts as well as afternoon teas and cake. We thought given the quality of the service, the local and fantastic food (fresh fish and even local wines), the huge room, the bath products and the lounge and dining area with fireplace, games, and lots of cozy sheepskins this was pretty good value for money.
The Gallivant also has a self-service larder with cheeky things like marshmallows and old fashioned sweets. A lovely touch.
And it is right across from the beach. Given there are dunes there is no direct sea view, but the dunes make the charm of Camber. This beach is not without reason compared to the Hamptons in the US, and it's the dunes that allow for idyllic picnic spots or to watch the sunset. It's the most wonderful beach for humans and dogs, and nearby Rye is a great spot for a bit of vintage shopping and some more food.
We'll definitely book another stay soon. read more
