It's hard to believe this hotel only has three stars from the AA - I think I would have rated it slightly higher. On approaching the hotel it does look rather impressive, it boasts a commanding position overlooking high on the East Cliff. There is a car park to the rear of the hotel.
On arriving at the hotel we were greeted by very friendly uniformed staff, the porter very graciously carried our luggage to the room. We had been given an upgrade to a superior room for no extra charge, simply because the hotel was fairly quiet (it was January, not long after Christmas). The room was large and pleasant, with quaint antique looking white furniture and a hospitality tray. The bathroom was small but pleasant, with bathrobes and toiletries provided. There was also a TV and a selection of DVDs to choose from.
We did not make use of the hotel facilities, it has a leisure centre including a small pool and a sauna, as we wanted to explore the lovely town of Rye as the hotel is literally a stone's throw from the town centre.
Breakfast in bed the next morning was fabulous, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were always courteous and helpful, and I highly recommend this hotel! read more
