We were very excited to check out the brand new location of Frigid Frog off us40 in Plainfield! We have always loved this business in all of their locations but this one has potential to be my favorite! Mama Shell's cookies is the first thing you see when you walk in the side door (the front door off the porch is not the main door). Then as you walk to the right, the Frigid Frog shaved ice is there. They have space to sit downstairs and upstairs. The worker told me there will be an arcade in the garage outside --so I'll update my review when that space opens. I cannot wait to visit more often in the summer as we are riding bikes and come off the trails...it's their best location yet in my opinion!

    Ice cream in both cases.

I didn't know this ice cream shop was here till I pulled out of CVS. Went inside and they have snow cones, popcorn, and probably 15 different flavors. The owner Keith, and his son were there. You can sample all flavors of ice cream if you want. The ice cream is so creamy and comes from Michigan. The flavors were amazing, I could have had 8 flavors in one cup instead of 4 different flavors I couldn't decide. I will have to go back to try more flavors. The owner and son was so nice, and they have a game room in one of the rooms. There is seating area to sit down and eat in the store.

Good shaved ice. Not powdery and snowy like Hawaiian shave ice, but not rock-hard, either. The kids love it, and it's a great treat on a hot day. You will need to exercise patience, though, because they are really slow. I'm not sure why -- maybe the ice machine is slow. Who knows. All I know is that from the time I ordered to the time I got my cup of shaved ice, about 15 minutes had passed! That's a long time. It's a long time for a food truck that sells literally one thing. Also, they don't put names on the orders, they just stick them out the window when they're done, so you have 17 people waiting around, wondering if that Jolly Rancher shave ice is theirs. Put a name on the cups! Oh, and they don't specify which window is the one you order from, and which window you pick up your order. So there are multiple people going to the wrong window. Pro tip: Order from the left window, pick up at the right window. So anyway, once you order and actually get your shave ice, it's all good. Very tasty.

Now that summer has come & gone, I am finding myself missing "The Frog." This past summer we discovered The Frigid Frog, and developed a serious shaved ice addiction. Boasting a large variety of flavors and add-ins (i.e. a scoop of ice-cream in the bottom, seriously?), the Frog has one of the better set-ups of shaved ice vendors that I have seen. My forever-favorite flavor will always be grape, but I love paring the grape with different flavors to see how they go. The service is normally really friendly. Occassionally you get a disgruntled teenager or two who obviously don't want to be spending their precious teenage nights stuck in a trailer, but that just adds to the shaved ice experience doesn't it? Some things don't change! I can look forward to one more thing about spring, in addition to the plants coming back to life...the Frozen Frog opening back up! Tips: Typically from May through cold weather (Sept/October), they are parked in front of the "Kids Go Round" resale shop off of US 40 in Plainfield. Be sure to check out their Facebook page to verify they will be there, and to verify their hours for any given day. This past summer they also had a "frequent buyer" card, which was a good deal.

High quality shaved ice! We have seen them rented for private events and they do a great job, and kids absolutely love it! They've got way more flavor than most shaved ice places as well. I'm planning to book them for an event next month!

The owner is SO sweet, always offering up samples and letting us know about the new flavors they have out. We most recently stopped in here for some scoops of strawberry ice cream after dinner Monday night, but will usually stop in here before or after taking the dogs on a walk at the nearby YMCA trail or Washington Township Park. It was the perfect way to kick off some warm weather and I highly recommend stopping in and trying one of their MANY delicious flavors of ice cream, sundaes, esquites, or mangonadas.

Danny's has a great selection of flavors to choose from as far as ice cream. I sampled the Honeycomb and OMG!!!! It melted in my mouth. I tried the Cheeto Equite and to my surprise, it wasn't as spicy as I was thinking it would be. It's served warm. Personally, not my favorite because hot Cheetos is not my thing, but I can say that I've tried it. Now, the Churro Sundae is more of my thing. The churros are not made in-house. I opted for vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. I would have like a few more pieces of churros, layered throughout, but it didn't take away from my liking. I'd get it again on another visit. Danny's is a clean, well kept ice cream shop with good service. He's tucked away in a plaza; sitting off Rockville Road. But once you step inside, you'll be in a little bit of ice cream heaven.

Every time we walk in, we are immediately greeted by the cheerful staff and warm, retro ambiance. There are so many things I love about Oasis, but I think the biggest thing is the true diner-style environment they have. Classic bar stools and a counter with several pies, cozy booths, and even outdoor seating! In the main dining area, the decor showcases all sorts of retro/vintage history with 8-tracks, vinyls, and license plates from decades past. As they are also along the Historic National Road, their menu reflects the other cities along the highway with their breakfast combos! If you want a different route to get here, they are also situated right along the White Lick Creek Trail, so it's an easy walk (or bike) across the pedestrian bridge to some delicious American food! As well as the ambiance I've discussed, I also love that they are a frequent participant of the Devour Indy promotions, as the promotions and deals they offer are well worth it! Over the many times I've been here, I've tried quite a few things off their menu, and they have a lot! Prices are very reasonable (I think they have gone up just a smidge since I've been there but nothing too crazy). If you stop in the morning (or any time, really) their cappuccino is AMAZING! I just get a basic cappuccino, but there are additional flavors you can add (Toffee and French Vanilla are two that I remember). Their burgers are always cooked to perfection, and the fries are a joy to eat (especially if you get the loaded fries!). Overall, this is a restaurant that is truly one of my all-time favorites and I will go out of my way to stop and have a meal here.

Our server Emily was cheerful and informative. A parking garage across the street served us well for dining at this restaurant and attending an event at Hendricks Live across the street. The shrimp cocktail appetizer featured fresh large shrimp with dollops of horseradish on the plate and a nice sauce. I enjoyed the steak frites entree, a generous portion of steak perfectly cooked, served with a delicious broccolini and tasty fries. My sister ordered the chicken marsala and noted that she would have liked more sauce, and the truffle potatoes were delicious. My brother said his huge pork chop was perfect, and my sister in-law recommended the sirloin steak. We had reservations and were seated at a high top table, which is not my preferred way to dine but the restaurant was full so we didn't ask to be moved. We had a bit of a wait for our entrees and chalked that up to it being Saturday night. There is a separate bar area and rooftop dining with igloos available.

I drove an hour to visit this place and saw lots of good reviews. I started off with a lemon drop and a snack short rib eggroll. The lemon drop was watery and just did not hit like I would have hoped (I'm a lemon drop girly). They do use Titos as their well so that was good. The egg roll was dry- you definitely need to dip in the wasabi aioli to make it palatable. Next up were the buffalo chicken hush puppies. I like the idea here. The inside was moist and flavorful and the outside was kind of dry and drizzled with what I think was ranch. They were ok. I have a Ceaser salad add chicken and "fried" Brussels sprouts. The salad was suppose to come the onions , there were none so the waitress brought me some. The salad was mid at best and the chicken was dry and unflavored. I asked for some spicy ranch and that saved the salad! The Brussels sprouts were pretty good. My friend had the potato soup and said it was very watery (not creamy at all). I enjoyed the live music and overall vibe but good was average. Parking is an issue as well. There is parking in the rear or a parking garage but not super convenient parking.
