Travel Zoo deals rock!!! The hubby and I were lucky to catch an awesome travel zoo deal for the MGM Grand. It was $79/night with all the taxes and fees the hotel applied it came out to about $100/night. Still an awesome deal from the regular $399-$599/night. I would NEVER pay that much for this hotel. Honestly, the hotel lobby and casino is gorgeous. The Outdoor pool is wonderful and great poolside service. But, when it comes to rooms. This is not a $400 room. The rooms are a decent size, the beds were really firm. We've slept on much more comfortable beds at less expensive hotels. The bathrooms are nice but not a lot of counter space. Walk in showers, don't expect tubs. I prefer showers over tubs but be really careful getting out. Floor can get very slippery. Other mentioned about the mini bar/snack area.. the front desk informed us they've now removed the snacks from the room to avoid any charges. That being said. We had an awesome time at the MGM. I came in worried after reading so many negative reviews about the smoke in the hotel. It was not as bad as others have mentioned. There's a slight smell of smoke but it well ventilated compared to the Foxwoods side. Our non-smoking room NEVER smelled like smoke either. Don't be worried about that. There's a Juniors restaurant on site of the hotel. We had breakfast there and loved it. If you're looking to have breakfast anywhere.. Go there! After breakfast we headed out to outdoor pool through the patio doors of Juniors and found lounge chairs immediately. There were plenty but it was early summer time. I'm sure this place gets packed during peak seasons. Make sure to head early. The cabanas and couches are available for use for an extra fee. The Casino is much smaller but we preferred it over the hectic Foxwoods side. read more

My friend and I met here for a few days away thanks to a Groupon deal. The room was clean and the beds were a bit soft but still comfortable. There were 6 elevators for the tower, and we never had to wait for longer than maybe 30 seconds for an elevator, which was awesome. The whole casino (except for the parking garage--- which is FREE) was immaculate. I have to copy the next section from my friend's review (Tricia B) because she worded it so well: "The in-room movies were pricey, and their "Classic" selection was one work-out video. But the cable channels were enough entertainment for the time we did spend in the room. The bathroom was roomy with a phone right by the toilet (one never knows when the need for room service will strike, I suppose), and the sink and shower were beautiful. The shower has a glass door, and if I have to give one piece of advice it is to put a towel on the floor before using because it will leak a little bit. The sink also has pretty good water pressure, and you will get water spots if you stand too close. For those who go using a Groupon package, as an FYI there is an additional $20 per day resort fee (for bottled water and shampoo, we were told) and a $100 refundable security deposit." We had breakfast delivered to our room one morning. Our food was delivered piping hot and with appropriate condiments on a rolling table (with leaves that pull out). My omelet was generously-stuffed with the requested toppings, and the hash browns were crispy and perfectly-seasoned. The whole Foxwoods complex is connected via elevated glass-enclosed walkways (which are decorated with beautiful bronze statues of Northeastern Native American life). That being said, it is a decent walk--- maybe 10-15 minutes from one end of the complex to the other (if you're walking fairly briskly). I was disappointed that the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center at Foxwoods was closed until May 1st, but plan to return in the future to experience this. read more

After a great adventure in Atlantic City and New York City, we stopped in at Foxwoods for our final night of a little road trip. My reservation was with the Fox Tower Hotel, which is formerly MGM Grand at Foxwoods. My previous review was for the actual casino on this property. That review stands if you search for it. This is for the actual hotel room, which we stayed in. The room itself is very spacious and for us, featured a king size bed. The bathroom was also spacious and featured a walk in shower with a bench. we were on the 29th floor and had a beautiful view of the highway leading into Foxwoods. Love you might be more beautiful in the summer or autumn I would imagine. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel features a pool and spa in the same building with easy access off of the elevator. Although this casino is very nice and this particular hotel is the nicest of the four hotels the casino offers, it is a bit far if you want to venture to the original Foxwoods side of the property. If I were to stay at Foxwoods again, I would either stay here or the Grand Pequot Tower if I had the chance to pay the same amount. These rooms out more new and modern, but the Pequot Tower is really the centerpoint of the gigantic resort and casino. read more

I've been to foxwoods before but its a totally different experience when you're staying only an elevator ride away! We had a double queen room on the 28th floor. The was spacious and had a great view (I can only imagine all those tree tops and hills during the Autumn!) the bathroom was spacious and nicely updated. The shower even had a bench which made for a great steam shower. The only con I would say is the price of the room. I fortunately found a groupon which brought the price down significantly, but if you go on a blocked out weekend, expect to pay big $$ read more

Ok, I don't like doing 1 star reviews...and in this case, I'll start with why. What is it with casino's allowing smoking on ALL their gaming floors? Hello Foxwoods management...it's 2019, not 19-anything....get with the times and remember the health of your guests and employees! If needed, separate the "smoking casino floors" from the walking areas and make some "non-smoking casino floors" for those who want to gamble but don't want to breathe smoke. The Great Cedar Casino has loads of smoke for a smoke free area. Now that I'm off that soapbox. Foxwoods is a great place to come to for an event. I didn't stay at the hotel here (a bit above my price range), but they do a good job with large events. Signage improved from last year's Red Sox Winter Weekend by identifying the best parking for the event on the big signs. When you come, bring some good walking shoes...cause you'll get a good workout. So really 4 stars for the Foxwoods team. Plenty of great options to eat too for all budgets! Enjoyed the Golden Dragon for dinner one night. Parking is easy and plentiful. Staff is also plentiful and helpful. read more

Stayed on at the Fox Tower on January 19th, 2020. It was a terrible experience, everything from check in to checkout. We did not get a wink of sleep. Do to unsupervised teenage kids being in a room next to ours. They kept throwing things on the wall and screaming all through the night into morning. They pushed kid out of the room and even threw drinks at him. Then he would sit there yelling to let him back in. In short security was called many many times. Nothing ever happened. So much so that I had to go and talk to them. It was my first and last time staying there. I can't say threw out all my travels that I've ever experienced something like that. We left early since it was already seven in the morning and still nothing had changed read more

Stayed on a Sunday night in April 2017. Room was very affordable at $113 including all taxes and fees. Room was clean and had a wonderful view. Bed was comfy too. Vanity was in the same room as the shower which I am not a fan of. Applying makeup when it's so warm and sticky from the shower steam is not easy. Bright green flashing light on the smoke alarm and loud A/C unit made for a sleepless night. They let us check in a few hrs early which was great, but the line was not so great. The line at check out was even worse, waited a good 20 mins in line. read more

I have had some great experiences at MGM Grand. The rooms are always perfect, but, if for some reason they aren't, be certain that the situation will be remedied immediately! While I did stay at the hotel regularly a few years back, I have only been once every three months or so lately and still, employees remember my name. I like the intimacy of the smaller gambling floor and the ventilation system is so much cleaner than over at Foxwoods. You can literally sit next to a smoker and not notice the smoke at times. I love to come downstairs in my slippers at 3am to gamble. The drink service is generally much better than any other casino I've been in and, instead of carrying around a tray of watered down drinks, you place your order and receive a fresh, often strong drink! Tip well and your waitress will find YOU. I have had amazing food at Craftsteak and Alta Strada and usually very tasty food at Junior's. I will say that the food court has gone way down hill. On a slow weeknight, you're lucky if you can find someone to cook at each station. I suspect it has changed hands because it is not managed by the casino and some of the employees are just simply rude and lazy. The only other con is the lack of an indoor pool for the colder months. There is a spa, but they only have a lap pool and you have to pay $15 a ! The outdoor pool is, however, spectacular! Warm, clean and they use something other than chlorine in it so you don't get dried out skin and red eyes. I find my way to MGM as often as I can, especially when I want to just relax and do nothing. The rooms are serene and calming (I suspect feng sui at work here!). read more

UPDATE: Katrina at the front desk moved us to a non-smoking room today. So grateful!! Thanks Katrina!! Stuck in a smoking hotel room. I come to Foxwoods regularly for work, and I usually stay at one of the other towers. This past time, they were all full, and I got put up at MGM Grand. I was originally not pleased, as it's about a 15 minute walk to the poker room. But halfway through my trip, I realized how lucky I was to stay at a such a nice hotel. The rooms are like 3 steps above the other hotels, and a lot of the good restaurants & clubs are in the MGM Grand tower. I think I might have to stay here next time I come. read more

I got to stay here using a Groupon, and since I didn't win any of the jackpots in the casinos Groupon is the only way I'd get to go back. However, it was well worth it. A friend and I spent two nights in April 2015. The hotel is quiet, elevators are fast and plentiful, and it is extremely clean in the hotel. There's a separate lounge and elevator area just off the casino, which makes it feel elite (or I'm easily impressed). For the actual hotel room, we were on the 17th floor with a view that must be beautiful in the fall when the trees have their leaves. The mattress was a little too soft for my normal tastes but still very comfortable. The in-room movies were pricey, and their "Classic" selection was one work-out video. We did express breakfast on our last morning, and they delivered closer to the end of the half hour window. The food was warm, the hash browns were crispy and well-seasoned, and they provided all necessary condiments and sugars. It was a great way to end the trip. The hotel is a bit of a hike from the Grand Pequot and Grand Cedar, but just keep walking and you'll make it there. :-) The casino for the Fox Tower is smaller than the rest of them, but plenty of slots and tables to go around. If you go mid-week, the noise level of the casino does gradually increase every day as you approach the weekend. For those who go using a Groupon package, as an FYI there is an additional $20 per day resort fee (for bottled water and shampoo, we were told) and a $100 refundable security deposit. read more

I stayed at MGM Grand at Foxwoods and I was really pleased with both the hotel and the Convention Center. I was here for work, so I will break the review down into two seperate sections. Convention Center: I was pleased with the service we received. Everything was spot on, the staff was attentive and they did everything to accomidate every request we had. The food was both plentiful and tasty... which when I am planning a meeting for about 40 guys... there needs to be a lot of it. They did have awful coffee...but they explained that it is a better option for them in the convention center because they were wasting a ton of coffee with real coffee. When I asked what he meant... he explained that the coffee they serve comes in a can and they mix it with water. YUCK The prices were what we expected them to be. It is a Casino after all so they charge for everything... WIFI = 50 per connection per day Speakers = 75 a day Flip Chart = $50 a day.... All in all great meeting, Great staff. Room: I was given a Suite and it was AMAZING. 20th floor, over looking the pool, Huge bathroom and Jacuzzi, the bed was GIANT and there was a sofa and two TV's. They also put in the room (because of the meeting) an entire plate of Chocolate Covered Strawberrys with a note saying Hope you have a Successful Event. read more

Great bathroom. Quiet rooms. Excellent HVAC. Tiniest TV's you ever saw in your life. What is it with these micro TV's some of these hotels use? I know bigger TV's cost more, but that's because they are worth it! My computer monitor is larger than the TV they put in the rooms at this place. I really hate that! Check in was long and complicated. The credit they give you toward food disappears once you check out so have your breakfast first and then check out. Access to the rooms is via the casino so you walk through a smoky casino to get to the elevators. It's not horrible and obviously depends on who is smoking and where. All in all if you are staying to attend something at the casino, you'll be fine here. I would self park as the valet line is huge. If you're in the area looking for a place to stay not dependent on the casino, I would probably stay somewhere in Mystic where it's just nicer. read more

I stayed here while on vacation in New England. I booked my room online at hotels.com and I appeared to get a good deal at $160 for the night. My expectations were definitely exceeded. When I arrived at the casino it was a lot nicer then I imagined. The lady working the front desk was very attentive and gave me all the information I needed without having to ask. She even let use choose what floor we wanted to be on. The room was spotless and the view was beautiful. I never heard anybody in the rooms around us and the casino was right downstairs for easy access (was great for that last round of roulette as I'm walking out of the casino to check out). When I was walking out of my room to leave for the day one of the cleaning staff asked us if we enjoyed our stay and was very nice. The Fox Tower - Foxwoods - View from the 29th floor - Hotels Near Me - Mashantucket, Connecticut

I've stayed here numerous time over the years and have always had an excellent experience. Valet, front desk, and quite frankly all of the hotel staff I've interacted with have been great! Ironically I have never stayed in a regular room because of upgrades at check in. I prefer the one room suite as it's a large open room with plenty of space to spread out though the bathroom in the two room suite is more desirable. I prefer the casinos and restaurants in the Grand Pequot so we usually walk over there. In the warmer months, the outdoor pool is very enjoyable. The gaming space is pretty small here though it is very open making it a little less smokey then some of the other casinos on the property. The one downfall is the walk back at night especially if you've done it multiple times during the day. Because of this we have opted to stay at the Grand Pequot going forward. read more

Stayed here recently with the hubby. We splurged and got the Directors Suite. Which, considering the price, was laid out strangely and expensive for a weekday. Upon entry you are in a foyer of sorts that opens to the sitting room, bedroom/bathroom and the main closet. Whenever I've stayed in Suites like this, everything is open or seperated with French doors, not actual walls. This made what could have been a roomy place feel compartmentalized. Negatives aside, what bumped this from a 3 to 4 stars for me was the bathroom. Oooh the bathroom... The entire bathtub shower area is one open room, completely tiled in an undefinable stone (or very high end tile). The tub was a Kohler jetted tub that let me control the strength of the water jets and if I wanted the water to be heated additionally. I guess if you take a long enough of a soak it would start to get cold. The shower was a rainfall shower head and there was a drain in the middle of the floor. It felt very Japanese to soap up, wash my hair and rinse and THEN step into the tub to soak. Pure bliss. I had a glass of wine and a magazine in there and could have stayed forever. The bed was very comfortable, sheets were crisp and pillows were plentiful. While the room itself was very clean, there was a lot of calcium build up on the sink faucets. Yuck. We mentioned this on check-out, the desk clerk did not offer a discount or anything for bringing it to his attention. Oh well, it would have been nice but I wasn't really expecting it either. All in all, we will stay here again, I just don't know if we will spend the $$ on this particular suite again. read more

Rooms were clean, hence the 1 star. However for 400 bucks a night, the coffee and tea? Are placed in the bathroom where you take your morning dump. The fridge is barely cold so my leftover 20 dollar caesar salad is ruined. I came with my child for a dance convention. And all night have been dealing with the 12th floor smelling like weed. When you complain? They send up a guy with a fragrance smoker to spray your room. How about telling the jerks who rented the room next to us to leave because its illegal here, AND there is no smoking on the property! The people in that room must have also roomed up with other adjecent rooms cuz they are screaming "YO" or other ridiculous slang. It is taking every fiber of my being not to go in the hallway and scream "SHUT THE F UP" But I will probably be shot or murdered. Staff has done nothing except offer potpourri. I will NOT be paying for this disgusting night. I can guarantee you that. Please also note, they have no fitted sheets on the mattresses. And its not just my room because other dance moms are here and I called and asked them. Everything is overpriced and being drunk and disorderly is obviously encouraged here so this place can take your money. Well, here is a nice review, telling you to save your money and get yourself a hotel a few miles away at like Holiday Inn, or Hampton Inn in Mystic. You will have a much better experience if you are a family. There are a lot of cheer and dance events here and it's unfortunate a few bad apples have to ruin it. But what's even worse is the Fox Tower's response to my complaints at 1am for my room smelling like weed and screaming in the hallway like damn banshee's. Grow a pair, and tell them to shut up or leave. Or one of your guests will. And things could become ugly very fast. Keep your children far away! My kid hates it here! Its just one big ghetto party. Also note, on floor 12 and 23, you can feel your room vibrate from the dance club. Not sure how far up you would have to go to avoid it seeing it goes to 29th floor I believe. read more

If you are looking to head to Foxwoods for the weekends, The Fox Tower hotel is definitely the best place to stay. The room was very spacious and spotless. It had a giant window that took up the whole wall to enjoy nature's beautiful view. It also had a small sitting area by the window with a comfy chair, and a very large bathroom. I have never heard anybody in the rooms around us and the casino was right downstairs for easy access. The walk between the two hotels and casinos was a bit far. It probably takes about ten minutes depending on if you are a power walker. But don't worry about that walk, they actually have moving walkways in case you are feeling a little lazy. If you are like me and eat a ton, you won't mind a good ten minute hike after to work off all that food. Good thing I wore my seven inch heels for that hike, I got a killer calf workout. read more

We had our annual Company Meeting here, and I have been hitting my inhalers non-freaking-stop since walking in the door. This place is huge and has a gazillion shops and restaurants and will make shopaholics happy as a pig in mud. Our Rooms are very nicely done. Comfortable Bed, large bathroom, beautiful view. There are a lot of drunk partiers slamming doors, talking loudly and generally being oafish at all times of night and morning. My coworkers are on almost every floor of the hotel and ALL report the same thing. Four people woke me up at 5:30am today as they drunkenly hollered and laughed non stop. Now that they are sleeping I'm flushing my loud as hell toilet every ten minutes as payback. I requested a non smoking room and indeed it is, but the assholes next to me are smoking in the hallway and so I'm getting a dose no matter what. Of course there is really no where on the grounds you can avoid cigarette smoke, including outside when it's 10 degrees. The smokers are everywhere and the stench is pervasive and at times completely overwhelming. How is this legal? Employees here are exposed to secondhand smoke at all times, and it is unhealthy. They should form a union and sue. While the shopping is good, the rooms very well done I can't recommend any of the Fox resort because of the toxic environment. If you or your family members, especially kids have asthma or other cardiovascular disease avoid Fox Resorts like the plague. You can not escape the toxic air. read more

Wow, what a total disappointment... Check in was painless as compared to some other casinos we have stayed at.. Which I thought would lead to an awesome experience, but I was wrong! Booked two nights in the Directors Suite for my boyfriend's birthday. The room was decent sized and had a pretty view of all the surrounding woods. However, the room was in really bad shape.. Chips and scrapes all along the walls. Our little table in our "living room" had ring stains from a previous cup left there, that must have been leaking.. The jacuzzi was one of the main reasons for booking this room.. However, we were very disappointed to find out that the jets that shoot out bubbles wasn't working.. Or even worse, looking up at the ceiling and seeing all the disgusting stains.. Makes you wonder how well they are cleaning the bathroom, gross.. I paid for late check out and at 9:45AM an angry house keeper knocked on our door demanding that he needed to clean the room... I explained that we had late check out but would probably be leaving around 11AM. He then began to tap at his watch and say nothing.. He was so annoyed and I was so annoyed with his rudeness. For $650 a night, I really was expecting so much more! I would NEVER recommend spending the money for a suite at this hotel!!! read more

My boyfriend & I stayed in the producer suite. It is a mediocre room with a seating area. All the furniture is a bit on the older side. The bathroom is large with a small Jacuzzi jet tub (suited for 1 person) & a glass enclosed shower (the glass door even when closed leaked water all over the floor). The first night the shower water was very HOT! The next morning, the shower was cooollldddd!! We were disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. There were dirty hand prints on the ceiling, food crumbs under the glass that overlay the bedside tables, stains on the all white bathrobe & gum like substances stuck to the carpet. The stay is way over priced for the quality. read more

The room they have for couples getting married at Lake of Isles is stunning and has the most incredible view. We came over the Christmas/Hannakuh weekend and found our trip most enjoyable. From the moment you walk through the door, you can see that The Fox Tower is clean, classy and modern. Check in was a breeze; the nice woman who waited on us explained everything and when we inquired about a room upgrade to accommodate a small get-together for our party of five, she produced an ipad with photos of how different the various suites were. For $75 extra, we were able to upgrade one of our three rooms to a suite with a large living room area so we might toast the holidays and be in comfort while doing so. Our room was on the 22nd floor and had a majestic view of the surrounding Connecticut hills. Nothing but a sea of forest in every direction with only a few landmarks (museum, casino in the distance). Being so high up in the tower really made for a memorable view. There is an ice skating rink for those that like to be in the cold... (not for me, thanks- ). And the lights on the grounds made for a nice holiday setting. The Bell captains desk staff was also excellent. They brought our bags to the room, showed us the view, adjusted the heat, and explained the services and features of the hotel. When we were to check out, they came and secured our luggage and kept it in a secure location during the rest of our visit. The only detractor to our stay in the room was the air quality- so so dry. Eventually we had to turn of the heat because we had to continually get a drink of water in the middle of the night. That aside, the comfort of the room, as well as the other amenities with it was a real pleasure. The girls went to the spa for the day while the guys opted for a little more gambling. They raved about the dual accommodations of the facility for both men and women. While saunas and showers were seperate, the jacuzzi was a nice place to have a cocktail or a bite to eat where both sexes could spend time together. This is a nice feature as other spas we've been to keep couples apart. It's nice to have a private area to relax and unwind but also nice to be able to meet up in a shared space. The casino, while not vast, was a good size to spend a while doing whatever floats your boat; machines, tables, center bar..... If it's a bigger scene you're into, take the long walk to the other Foxwoods property located-- at least technically-- next to the Tower property. I mean it is quite a walk. At a brisk pace, it'll take around ten minutes to traverse to the other area. On the plus side, there are restaurants and restrooms, views of the grounds and the ice rink along the way. Best of all for me- I didnt have to go outside! I spend enough time in the cold at work. If the covered pathway wasn't available, I'm pretty sure I'd be miserable. Yeah, for sure we will be back. And likewise, after our last trip, I'd want to stay at the Fox Tower once more. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here last night. We ended up choosing here over Mohegan because this place offers discounts for healthcare workers. To start, I ended up tripping in the garage coming in and broke my hand. EMS along with the supervisor ended up coming up to my room as soon as we got there and genuinely seemed concerned. All staff was actually super pleasant. The room itself was nice and clean. I personally didn't like the fact that the comforters on the beds weren't thick at all and basically just seemed like a thick sheet but whatever nothing is perfect. Also didn't care for the fact that my neighbors were loud at like 3am and woke me up, but I really can't blame the hotel for that. I don't think there's any other reason not to give this place 5 stars. Maybe it would've been nice if they offered something as an apology for tripping on the uneven pavement in the garage and fracturing my hand or followed up to make sure I was ok, but other than that it was a pretty nice stay read more

If I could leave no stars I would. During my stay at The Fox Tower we had a man break into our room. We called security and they never showed up!!!!! Note if you have an issue call 911 or the local police as Foxwoods just sweeps incidents under the rug. Interesting to note the man who broke in used to be an employee of Foxwoods. They failed on every front! They offered free slot play! What a joke. I will never go to this awful establishment ever again. The man left through the adjoining room door ( he came in though the front door. Upon checking the room the following morning there were 3 people in the room passed out from partying we had to insist that security come check the room. They confirmed the 3 were not guests of the hotel and just let them leave. I wonder how the higher ups would feel if it was them or loved one having their room broken into while sleeping?? Awful awful handling by Foxwoods by a very scary and traumatic experience. Be careful if you go. I read more

This review is for the MGM Grand concert hall Had a destination weekend to see DURAN DURAN & wow, what a show! Playing the 1st night of their US tour, have to say the boys sure brought their A-game. Anyone who can get a room full of 40-somethings to rush the stage & scream & dance around like shrieking tweenies, makes for a cross country trip well worth it! The venue is gorgeous - somewhat large yet still gives off that intimate feel; extremely plush seats, views are practically unobstructed - completely unobstructed while everyone was sitting but the abnormally tall guy standing 2 rows in front of me, still managed to partially block my view while we were all standing Sound quality was fantastic - crisp & clear. Drinkys allowed inside & even though there were signs & announcements all over the place that said no cameras / cell phones, they were out in force Free parking & guides to get you in & parked quickly Best Tip: Don't believe the timetables that say it's 45 min from Hartford.....took me a little over 1 hour & that was w/ NO traffic & we were speeding read more
