Great decor, service and food! Our server (sorry I didn't get the name) was very very kind and helped us about our hiking plan. We were visiting Scotland l, but if we are in town next time, we will be coming back. Thank you for all that great experience

We traveled to many places during our two weeks in the UK, and ate at many restaurants. Four Marys tops our list for best chips and onion rings! When we arrived this day, they had just opened and they were short staffed. The waitress was still attentive and hospitable, despite the added pressure. We ordered the Tuna Salad and Chicken Bacon Sandwiches. Both were good, but like I mentioned earlier, the sides were the stars. We will definitely stop again when we travel to the UK again.

They serve fish and chips and big fish and chips. And I ordered the big fish and chips because why not. And it was the best fish and chips I have ever had! Our host from the b&b recommended this place so we checked it out and we were not disappointed. We went around 6 and there was only a couple of people dining, but it got busy fast. Service was great and service was knowledgeable of the items in the menu. If you eat here order fish and chips!!

Really enjoyed this place. Real ales were good. Cullen skink was very good as well. Atmosphere was nice - easy to carry on a conversation without having all the other patrons overhear. The bartender was very kind in allowing me to sample several real ales before I decided on the one I liked. The wait staff was quick and brought our food quickly. Can't wait to go back!

I quite enjoyed this wee pub in Linlithgow! My boyfriend and I spent a good chunk Valntines Day wandering about Linlithgow Palace and the surrounding Loch for a nice relaxing day outside of the city when we happened upon this wee pub. Ok, so we hadn't happened upon it, I used Yelp to see what pubs we might be able to have a drink in, and this one seemed like a winner!! Zing! Of course, I hadn't worn the best shoes to do a lot of walking in (I was going for casual chic with my Betsy Johnson flats and skinny jeans) so I was happy as anything to finally take a load off and enjoy a bevvy with my love. Walking in to this place, immediately you want to kick your shoes off (not just because of tired feet) but because the carpet underneath your feet felt lush and cozy. I think at one point, as gross as this sounds, I took one of my shoes off just to feel the lush carpet- oh it was nice!!! Aside from that, there was a roaring fire that greeted us as we walked in and loads of boards about with written specials. We ordered at the bar and found a table and took a seat. It seemed like an older crowd with a few younger couples sprinkled about- it really seemed like a good mix. We felt really comfortable here and would have stayed a bit longer had it not been Valentines Day (and our anniversary) and wanting to get back to Glasgow for other plans that night. The staff at the bar were friendly as anything and they had a nice selection of crisps, which we bought one of: Chorizo crisps. Mmmmm! Never seen that flavour in my life, but they were pretty tasty! All in all, I'm glad we decided to stay a bit longer in Linlithgow and visit Four Marys. If you find yourself in town, do stop by and check it out. It really is a great wee pub!

A definite must stop after visiting Linlithgow Castle, especially on a cold day!! The main dining room has a roaring fireplace and is warm and cozy. Our food was tasty but not exceptional but the atmosphere was enough to make us happy!

When I went in everyone looked pretty unfriendly and the bar staff didn't seem eager to serve. But once I had been there for a while they seemed to perk up a bit. I still felt a bit uncomfortable however. The beer I had was a bit of a let down unfortunately. However the pub food they serve was surprisingly a touch above the rest. My only complaint was that it took a while to arrive. But once it did it I was a little more impressed by it than the usual pub affair. Supposedly the pub is under new management after a spate of awful owners who really let the place go to ruin. Maybe it' still recovering from those dark days. I would certainly like to revisit and have a more consistent experience.

We had two lovely beers (standard tap and bottled fare) and decided to have a meal along with it. That's where we were absolutely sold: they presented us with the BEST mac & cheese I think I've just about ever had. It came with a salad (also delicious) and garlic bread, and we had chips as well. For pub food, this place seriously takes the cake. Couple that with good service and clean, standard facilities (and a cozy gas fireplace) and you've got a lovely pub on your hands. :) wish it wasn't so far away... I'd go back for the MAC alone, easy!

Nothing hit our liking until we found this pub that looked inviting. Plenty of car parking space and, once inside, a very friendly welcome from behind the bar. Service couldn't be beaten. Drinks came promptly and, unusual for a pub, table service. Scampi and chips were ordered by us both and the quantity that arrived was so surprising for the price. OK, maybe it is because we are used to being fleeced dry in the south but we both noticed the quantity and pricing above Watford Gap is so significant. Great pub, friendly, fast service and really good food. Thanks guys.

Ordered the Smokey Soya Sloppy Joe Nachos which came with Violife Cheese and Vegan Mayo (more like sour cream, Yum!) For a starter and the Moving Mountains burger which also came with nachos! Would be nice to have Chips / fries that are vegan friendly but nachos was a pleasant and welcomed change from the norm! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone searching for an affordable yet delicious vegan meal in Linlithgow!
