In addition to selling local ales, one brewed in a microbrewery attached to the rear of the pub, this place offers very good Pub Grub at excellent prices.
Favouring starters more than desserts, I wanted to try the pâté, but rather than make everyone else wait for their mains, I gave in and ordered a dessert with the rest.
I tucked into chicken with a creamed pepper sauce, which was tasty. It was accompanied by chips that were prepared in sunflower oil and were just the right balance of crispiness on the outside and softness in the middle.
Others in my party had Sausage Casserole, a hearty dish that you don't often see on the menu & Cajun Chicken which was equally well enjoyed.
We settled on two different choices for dessert, I had the White Chocolate & Cranberry Cheesecake which was delightfully rich and the other selection was Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream.
