Perfect little train station boozer, family atmosphere.
I had a couple of pints at this nice little pub in Linlithgow, waiting for my return train to Edinburgh - having visited Linlithgow Palace. It's just one very modestly proportioned room, and they don't serve food (except nibbles). It's a station boozer, but a good one.
There are three guest ales on offer, plus the usual assortment of lagers and other drinks. Most local patrons will be sitting at the bar, chatting with the elderly owner. Since I wasn't a local and the Scottish accents at the bar were wee heavy, I chose to sit at one of the small tables and observe the conversation.
The owner is friendly and forthcoming, the beers are well maintained. The decor won't win Platform 3 any design awards, but everything that you'll need is there, including WCs - accessible *directly* from the bar room. It's just that small a pub. read more
