A very typical american grill house with okay food. Most of the servers were nice but an old lady was a little grumpy. Not too impressive. Other than that, food was a little better than average. A pricy place and the only thing about it is the convenience if you are staying at the resort. So, I would recommend to drive a little away to find a similar place out of the resort if you want american food.

Very average food that definitely hits the spot after skiing! The convenience is unreal if you're staying at the J hotel. You get a beautiful view of the tram house and quad lift while eating. We ordered the cheeseburger eggrolls, unfortunately, they did not come out before our entrée even though we stated we wanted them first. The server did apologize and they were not added to our bill. My husband ordered a bowl of the clam chowder soup and it was really really tasty. My Korean pulled pork sandwich was very good with a little bit of spice from the kimchi. The fries were cold, but still tasted good.

When we came, we were sitting outside to enjoy the beautiful view outside. We came in when our drinks were served cause of the cold air. The food wasn't that bad, but it wasn't exactly good either.Expensive for breakfast. Service was ok.

Food was good. The fries were mid. Waiter was very nice. Inside the restaurant had very warm homey vibes. Pretty expensive but what can you expect from a ski resort restaurant.

Good Mtn food. The loaded fries are some of the best Mtn food you will find. Burger was pretty solid. Service was fine.

We stayed at Jay during the week and this was the only option for dinner every night. We were kind of disappointed by the limited menu. I would have loved just a simple Caesar salad but that wasn't an option. I ended up getting the Vermont salad most nights. I ordered the smaller size which was more than enough. We ordered the wings from the appetizer list every night. I think we got like 9 wings for $15. They were cooked perfectly. We ordered the flat bread pizza one night and that was great. We did feel it was a little over priced. The pizza was on the smaller size and by itself isn't enough for two especially after a day of skiing. All of the employees were wearing masks which I appreciate and they were all very friendly.

3.5 stars. Hubby and I ate here after arriving late Tuesday night. It was the only place open for food past 9/9:30PM at the resort. We were able to take a quick shuttle ride to The Hotel Jay as The Foundry is located on the 2nd floor there. Since it was late, they were only serving from The Hearth Menu, wood fired pizza! Yum! We were promptly seated and after several agonizing minutes our food came. I ordered The Vermonter pizza (minus the bacon and mustard) and my husband had a pulled pork sandwich. (The Deliverance) Pizza was pretty tasty, though salty. It was a big portion; so I ate my leftovers for lunch the next day. Service is very slow here, so be prepared to wait a long time for your food. The servers are very nice and friendly at least. They'd earn the extra star from me for faster service.

Food was just ok, and took forever, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. Prices are high, but all prices at Jay Peak are high.

The servers a bartenders were very friendly and accommodating and made sure the food I ordered was safe for me to eat, due to food allergies. I tried the local hockey mom seltzer which was tasty and not too sweet. For my meal I had the maple cider pork chop which was the perfect portion and delicious. The pork was tender and the glaze was the perfect touch. The home made apple sauce was a nice addition and was so fresh. Finally the garlic green beans were a top choice to round out this dinner. If we have time we will go back because apparently they have the best burger in town and it sells out everyday.

The family was gnashing and tearing at each other from the moment they came through the door and continued when they had to wait 8 minutes for an unreserved table. When the restaurant had the audacity to not have meatballs, the trollish husband went apoplectic on the server who was a lot more measured in her response than I'd of been. They had to call in the owners to calm the small, meatball-less guy down and when he and his cabal were exited the crowd cheered. I finished my mussels which were wonderful.

Overall, it offered a unique experience, though not without a few drawbacks. To start, the appetizers were fantastic. We shared the beef tartare, mussels, and crab rangoon. The beef tartare stood out for its flavor, though the accompanying baguette was slightly stale. Despite that, the appetizers were the highlight of the meal. For soup, we sampled the French onion, which was met with mixed reviews--decent, but not particularly memorable. The main courses included kangaroo, venison, fish and chips, and duck. While the chef's talent for creating flavorful dishes was evident, all the meats were unfortunately overcooked. This may have been due to the challenge of preparing multiple meals at once, as we were informed that there was only one chef in the kitchen. The restaurant itself boasts a charming and homey ambiance that enhances the dining experience. Service was friendly and accommodating, with no issues on that front. A standout feature of the menu was the inclusion of kangaroo--a rare find, especially in Vermont. While it's worth trying for the novelty, be prepared for its distinctively high iron content, which imparts a metallic flavor that may not appeal to everyone. In conclusion, this restaurant offers a unique and enjoyable experience despite a few missteps. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere make it a worthwhile stop for those visiting the Jay area. Just keep in mind that the kitchen's limitations may impact larger parties or more complex orders. If you're feeling adventurous, give the kangaroo a try--you likely won't find it anywhere else nearby!

We ordered the antelope Swedish balls, French onion soup, and firecracker beef. Most of the food wasn't great - the antelope Swedish meatballs were the best of the 3. The French onion soup had too much thyme and a very watery broth. The firecracker beef was offensive!! It has a warning that it's very spicy (which is true), but it was a really strange dish! I expected an Asian inspired spicy beef dish over rice, but we got a hot sauce drenched rice bowl. Allegedly there was beef in it, but there was really no texture or flavor other than hot sauce! To clarify to the owner comment - we did tell our server we didn't like it, and that it was not due to the spice - it was due to the gross flavor. She simply said "oh I haven't heard that one" and did not offer to take it off the bill or replace it. Now the drinks and desserts were fantastic! We loved our seasonal cocktails, and we ordered two desserts and polished them off. The maple chomeur was drenched in sauce and so good - we actually poured the remaining sauce over our apple warm too! I loved the fresh apples in the tart since there was some texture. Service was also very good from the front desk to our server.
