The coffee was excellent! We loved the tiramisu latte. Ended up going here every morning on our trip. Super convenient location, great coffee, great service. Cafe was a great place to relax

Love love love this place! Absolutely delicious. The waiters were extremely nice and understanding! There was a very short wait for food (around 10 mins). Their tiramisu drink is super good! Also loved their Benedict with slow cooked Turkey . I'd definitely come back here if I visit Lisboa again!

We LOVE The Folks and they deserve a spot on Yelp! Popular local cafe a few blocks from Commerce Square and a block off the main tourist street so not too crowded with tourists but lots of locals love it so you can usually expect a little wait for a table but they can usually seat you quickly in the small space. Super sweet staff. We stopped in several times on our month long stay in Lisboa. Our favorites: Chocolate Orange latte Pistachio Latte Mushroom Eggs Benedict on crispy hash brown round - So freaking good!!! trust me and order this Raspberry Pancakes topped with whipped mascarpone cream, fresh raspberries, raspberry sauce, and pistachios Raspberry pancakes with mascarpone Syrniki - Eastern European cottage cheese pancakes with mascarpone cream, mango, and roasted almonds

Had breakfast here on our first day in Lisbon, and looking back it was the best breakfast in Lisbon. Avoid the tourist traps on the main cobble road and come here instead. The space is really interesting, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing. I had the avocado toast and it was expertly plated with obvious care to the visuals. Tasted great and was exactly what I was looking for to start a day of exploring. Great coffee selection if that is your thing.

Scrambled eggs, smashed avocado, toast and delicious mushrooms.

Discovered the best breakfast place in all of Lisbon! The Folks is a hip eatery down a relatively quiet side street, away from the tourist restaurants with the food hawkers. The ambience is interesting. Sort of like an underground mine. I had the eggs Benedict with a got black tea. The bene was top notch, spectacular. I couldn't finish the generous portion. My friend had scrambled eggs which came with beautiful roasted mushrooms. Even my tea tasted delicious. YUM!

Wow. Just wow. The pancakes here are perfection. We loved it so much that when the other brunch place we had planned to go to was busy, we came back to The Folks. The raspberry pancake was amazing. The flavors and the pancakes were just right. The matcha tonic was refreshing! Loved everything.

Great spot off the beaten tourist path. Was able to walk in and seated immediately. The salmon Benedict was delicious.

What makes it special is watching the pastries being handmade right in front of you, which adds a level of freshness and craftsmanship that you can actually taste. The service was super fast and friendly. The pastel de nata came out perfectly, with that delicate flaky crust and warm custard that just hits differently when you know it was made moments ago. The espresso was equally impressive, rich and smooth, and the two together make for a simple but near perfect combination. If you are in the area, this is an easy and very satisfying stop.

The crust was super flaky and the tart was nice and warm out of the oven, but I didn't like the flavor of the custard. I did forget to add cinnamon to the top, but I don't think it would have helped me personally. The woman who stood next to me at the counter had a nearly orgasmic experience next to me, so it's obvious that my taste buds are apparently off. I loved the patience of the server, who got confused when I told her I wanted to eat in but wanted to take water to go. Note to self...Portuguese folks want to have their "to go" as "takeaway." What I also didn't know was that there was no place to sit!! I scooted down the counter just like all the other folks to watch the bakers prep the next gozillion pastries for the day. That was interesting. Then, I didn't know how to bus my dishes. I just left them on the counter like all the other folks and went away. I wouldn't skip going because of my personal taste buds, though. Enjoy it for yourself and let me know if you have a different opinion than I did!
