This place is great! Will you find dirt cheap prices? No. But do they have competitive prices, quality materials, experienced installers and a smooth customer service experience from start to finish? ABSOLUTELY! Patti in particular was so easy to work with, accommodating, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does, she really was a joy! We did an add-on bonus room that had previously had gross, ancient carpet laid directly over a stamped concrete pad. The installer pulled everything out, cleaned and prepped it all and got the leveling compound done within about 4 hours on day one, leaving plenty of time for drying, and was back at my door at 8am sharp the next day to finish the job, which took about another 6 hours. 10 hours of work and the entire space has been transformed! My children love this new play space and I am confident this flooring will stand up to my doggy running back and forth from the house to the backyard. It looks great, it feels great, it SMELLS great (compared to my carpet, yikes!) and I've been over every inch of it and haven't found a single flaw. I went with the Floor Store thinking they would take care all my flooring needs upon installation! Not so. imagine my surprise when I was told I needed to go to Home Depot to get a couple of transition pieces because one floor or threshold was higher than another (garage door and bathroom!). They are The FLOOR STORE, I expected them to have these pieces as different floor heights is not unusual!! She spent plenty of time with me and my wife while we were picking out the carpet, then explaining the purchase and installation process. (The other stores we went to were nowhere near as helpful and even seemed to resent spending time with us). The Floor Store price was the lowest, with the estimates from other stores as much as 50% higher. The installation was first rate. The installer arrived on time as scheduled. He was careful to respect the house, and my requests for inspecting the work as it progressed, and for a thorough cleanup. The installation was perfect, professional and accurate. Started out with a bid for an insurance project of some floor damage of the kitchen. The bid was so promising that I decided to do the entire 2,000 square foot house. I worked with both Steve and Gabriella to design the project. They designed a project that met my budget and design expectations. I decided to renovate the house. I walked in with my paint samples and showed them to Gabriella. She picked up a sample that was on sale and I was sold. Going with a floor contractor over th the big box hardware store turned out to be the perfect choice. They had all the custom parts necessary for the steps, and different transitions. Their estimator came out and laid out the project on a flooring software program to assure all of the laminate flooring would run the same direction. We chose a 5 inch painted base of which I painted prior to installation. The installers took 6 days to do the entire house and it came out fantastic. I only had to do a small touch up of the nail holes as their caulking was perfect so I didn't have to cut in the top of the trim. I give them a strong five stars, definitely will use them again. This was a house I was selling. The house sold in one week for over the asking price. The entire process was excellent. Watch some YouTube videos on color theory, then come in with your colors and they'll take care of you. They have flooring for all budgets. read more

I am so disappointed, I paid for the upgraded pad and I thought a good quality carpet. The old carpet I had was better than this. The pad feels thin. The quality isn't at all what I expected. They discontinued my original choice of carpet and after not hearing from them I went to the store and found out that I needed to choose a different carpet. This room was 12 x 12 and the cost was $1200.00, not at all the cheapest and supposedly on "Sale". Go somewhere else. I wish I skipped this store, totally ripped me off. read more

If I could subtract stars I would. We contracted with The Floor Store to put new floors in our home. We have an existing staircase that has a wooden base for the balusters. The base is a different thickness than the flooring so we explained to Steve our sales person that they would need to be prepared. We knew this from the 3 other estimates we had received. Steve's response was "no problem". He sent out an estimator and that guy looked at everything, came back with the same numbers as Steve. All was looking good. The communication was not great but we were making the best of things. On April 4 our flooring was delivered. The work started on the 7th. Tear out the first day. Leveling the floor the second day. Day three they started the install. When I walked up to see the floor my heart sank. The flooring is about 1/4" lower than the stair base. Not only does it look bad but it's a tripping hazard at the top of my staircase. When I pointed it out to the installer and told him we specifically said we wanted it addressed he told me it wasn't on the paperwork. That was over 2 weeks ago. I've had the Foreman out here 2x and Steve out here but no word on when they are going to fix it. I even left a message with the corporate office yesterday and no response. Spend your money somewhere else. We are stuck using 1/2 our home with no solution in sight. read more

My wife and I usually don't write long-ish reviews but this will likely be an exception because we had a great experience with the Floor Store and our sale rep - Steve Boardman. If it looks too long, here's the TL:DR summary: Steve Boardman and the FloorStore treated us really well, helped us find great flooring for our needs, were competitive on pricing, and provided phenomenal service through the whole process. Now... here's the detail... As background, when we noticed water leaking through our garage ceiling, we traced the issue to an old toilet on the second floor of our house. An emergency call to a plumber revealed the issue must have been going on for some time and the water rotted away the subfloor of our 2nd floor bathroom so much that the plumber said, we'd need a new subfloor (which meant new flooring) and a new toilet flange (which attaches to the subfloor). And the plumber said, we'd have to get the subfloor installed, then call him back to install the flange, and then have the flooring folks back out to finish installing the flooring job before the plumber would come out one last time to install the toilet. Needless to say, that sounded like a lot of vendor explanations and coordination that we didn't know if we were qualified to manage. First we looked on-line to find flooring we liked, then we went to Home Depot under the assumption that they would be the best deal for the tile we wanted and the installation. But, of course, you wait forever to speak to someone, they had to send someone out to look at the bathroom and put together an estimate, and then we could never get anyone at Home Depot on the phone to discuss our questions and explain the process again. Then we moved onto the Floor Store and - although their website is a bit tricky to navigate - the in-store experience with Steve Boardman was great. He's relaxed and easy to talk to, he guided us to the types of products we were looking for, gave us some space to narrow down the possibilities, let us check out some samples, and ran a couple of quotes so we could understand what would be most cost effective for us (and actually ended up being less than Home Depot). So - upfront - we were already having a great experience. Then we ordered the flooring and arranged for the installation. Steve was a great communicator throughout the process and even gave us his cell phone number. On the initial installation date, the installer said he didn't have the right subfloor materials in his truck given our plumbing issue and after some quick calls with Steve, Steve arranged to have a different contractor come out who would not only do all of the flooring but also take care all of the plumbing! What our plumber originally told us would take 4 contractor visits was now only going to take 1. Honestly, we were excited but still a bit skeptical. Just a day or two later, the new contractor showed up, removed the old flooring, installed the new subfloor, new toilet flange, new tile, new baseboard, and new toilet. And, because we wanted to make sure everything was going to happen smoothly, we made more than a couple of calls to Steve - all of which were warmly received and expertly handled to put our minds at ease. When the installer was done, it looked great! We were blown away at how easy Steve made the whole process for us. This was such a different experience than working with Home Depot. Steve and FloorStore gave us great service versus the Home Depot approach where we felt we just didn't matter. read more

After my 2021 installation, the flooring in my kitchen has started to come apart. It has only happened, so far, in this location so I am assuming it is due to a different type of sub-flooring in that area. In any case, I have gone to the Sunnyvale Floor Store twice and emailed pictures, with the assurance that I would be contacted about this issue. We visited the store and verbally quoted a price for 3 rooms and a hallway. Then the email quote we were sent the next day was at a higher price. We complained and got the lower price. We were not told we had to sign a contact or pay for the entire order including installation upfront when we first ordered the carpets. When we found out these details it added 2 weeks to our lead time. I am a repeat customer (never again), I refused to pay 100% upfront. The store agreed to a "one time" price of 50% upfront, and 50% immediately after installation. Our original installation date was postponed. When the day finally came they missed the delivery time window by a hour. Install lasted until 7pm that night, but I was assured the guys would leave at 5pm and come back in the morning. The actual install looks OK. But in their haste they dinged up some of our newly painted door frames and base boards. It was late and dark, the next morning we had carpet fiber remains all over our front yard & drive way. Not a very good experience. read more

Just had our new vinyl plank floors installed last week by The Floor Store and couldn't be happier with the whole process. I worked with Cambria and she was great right from the start. Couple of days later Patrick came out and measured the rooms and he was very nice and a huge plus was that he was on time. He had called the day before to check in and make sure the time and day still worked for us. He also called the day he came out with an exact arrival time. Day of installation went perfectly. Byron and another guy who's name I couldn't pronounce correctly so I won't try to spell it here lol showed up on time and got straight to work. They were really nice and I felt very comfortable with them. We were hoping to get them finished by thanksgiving (which they were) and these guys worked extra hard to make it happen. We have an older mobile home with very un level floors so we weren't expecting perfection but these guys absolutely did an amazing job. They stripped most of the floors down to the original fashionable linoleum and bare boards YIKES!!! They didn't cut corners and obviously take pride in their work. Now I want new carpet for the bedrooms and I'll be using the floor store.
