After Consulting with our attorney on the matter of BBB Complaint Case #: 91210771, I have been advised that this is no longer a warranty issue. This is because all of the work was completed on Wednesday December 7, 2011 as requested. Mr. Bennie H. did agree that after the third attempt to refinish the floor was to his liking and he was satisfied with the final job. This complaint has now become a legal issue because several weeks after the final completion of our job, Mr. H. purchased and installed (by himself and without any help from The Floorman) a heat lamp in his garage. We did not refinish the floor in the garage because it is bare concrete and not hardwood. The heat lamp malfunction, lead to the partial burning of his garage and the loss of his dog and plants. During the refinishing job, Mr. H. insisted on moving all his own furniture and plants and did not want the Floorman touching any of his belongings. Mr. H. did, in fact, move all of his belongings on his own. As we have done with the over 5000 jobs in the DFW area in the last 11 years (with only 2 BBB complaints - Mr. Haynes being the 2nd one), The Floorman has a policy of not stopping work until the client is happy with our work. That is what finally happened. We had to refinish Mr. H. floor three (3) times in order to meet his expectations and honor our policy. On Monday August 8, 2011, The first reason he gave for not liking our work is because he said there were scratches on the floor. These were not scratches but polyurethane over run that happens from time to time as polyurethane application is not a science but more of an art form. Usually within a few months of normal foot traffic the excess overrun is worn off and no traces of the overrun exist. After a few weeks Mr. H. said this was never going to be resolved and wanted his floor redone. After a few delays due to Mr. H. schedule we refinished his floor again. On Monday October 10, 2011, After we refinished the second time, Mr. H. then said he didn't like the color even though we used the same stain and process. Therefore on Friday December 2, 2011 we refinished the floor for him a third time. At that time Mr. H. said he wanted to stay in a hotel as the work was being done and as a goodwill gesture we paid for his hotel in an effort to help resolve his frustrations. Finally, on Friday December 9, 2011 after the third attempt, the job was completed and Mr. Haynes said he was pleased with his floor and "it looks good". Finally on Dec 20, 2011 (20 days after he approved and acknowledged the job was completed to his satidfaction) Mr. H. sent a letter blaming The Floorman saying that we "burned his house down, killed his dog and plants" . To this date, nearly six months later, we have not heard from any Fire Department, Police Department, insurance company or attorney regarding this matter. If there were any cause of action that could have been taken by any of the abovementioned entities those actions would have been brought against us. They have not because Mr. H's claims are without merit. read more

The Floorman did a spectacular job for us under fairly difficult circumstances. They were our second try because the first contractor did not perform to our satisfaction. The Floorman was less expensive than the first company and far more professional. Every representation they made regarding quality, schedule, patches to the old floor, dust and odor, and payment was true and dependable. Bryan Robidoux was our sales representative and Grace was the project manager's name. Both were great. When we first decided to refinish our floors, we hired another company that was not the low bidder. On the first day of the job, this other company was so inadequately prepared, we stopped the work and looked for a new contractor. We conducted interviews and solicited bids from several companies. Some said the floors could not be refinished because the floors were half inch engineered wood. Some said the patches needed near the back door could not be done because the wood would never match properly. The Floorman was able to convince us they could do everything we wanted. They gave us a schedule, told us what to expect regarding odor, and dust, told us what would be our responsibility and what they would do regarding moving furniture. We had to move all of our furniture out including a grand piano, and we had to move our for a few days ourselves. It was a big job. They tented the entire area including the two story spaces with plastic and taped everything closed. They moved our refrigerator. They closed off the kitchen counters. The equipment they used seemed very effective at containing the dust. When the tenting came down, they vacuumed the area. The residual dust was fairly minor and less than we had expected. Each day the work that was done was the work they had said would be done. When we moved back in, we could not tell where the new wood ended and old wood began it matched so well. We recently selected The Floor Man for a huge project in our new home. We bought a house that had hand scraped floors in partial areas of the house but carpet in the master, on both sets of stairs and in the dining room that met the current wood floor. We wanted it all to match along with doing wood in the upstairs foyer and game room areas. This was a huge job (house is 4800 square feet) and we were on a strict deadline to move out of our old home into this new home. We were a little skeptical about The Floor Man due to some reviews online. We had Brian, the project manager, out to the house to talk about the job and all the skepticism went out the door. He first explained the situation from the online stories and then proceeded to tell us how they would complete the job, the timeline expected and then introduced us to his very professional team. He began the work within days so they could help meet our deadline for the move date. I can't even begin to explain what a great job they did! They exceeded my expectations. You can not even tell where the new floor meets the old floor. It is so beautiful. The team of guys who did the job were wonderful. We gave them the key to our house and let them work over the period of two weeks without supervision. I can guarantee that we had nothing stolen! They were extremely trustworthy. We love everything about our floors and still do. The job was performed in the 2nd week of January 2013 and it is now March. I am so glad we went with Brian and his team. Just remember, there are two sides of every story and the internet can be extremely harmful to businesses when only one side is told. I am re writting my review because for some reason my review ended up on the filtered page. My wife and I decided to use the floorman to install our floors several months ago. I knew right away that I was dealing with a quality company when I called and the owner answered the phone and put me in contact with Bryan. We set the appointment over the phone and Bryan showed up the next day to meet with my wife and I. He was very helpful and answered all of our questions. A couple of days later we decided that we wanted to move forward and he directed us to a wholesaler to look at what products they had. We were very supprised to say the least and a bit over whelemed with all the different types of flooring we could choose from. We ordered the floor and it was delivered to our house the following week. The crew showed up and got started right away. We were very please that the floors were done the very same day and all of our funiture was put back for us before they left. I can not thank the floorman enough for helping us out with our project and I can ot say enough good things about them. These guys came to my rescue and did a great job. The contractor we had originally scheduled to do the work notified us that he was 1 1/2 weeks behind even though we had been on his calendar for 6 weeks. The flooring was the last piece of a master bedroom remodel, and everything else was already underway. In short, we couldn't wait. Jessie (the owner) responded very quickly to my call and had someone buy within an hour to do a measurement. The quote was sent via email within a couple of hours as promised. The crew showed up on time as promised and completed the job very quickly. They did a nice job on the hardwood installation and clean up, and the crew was very friendly. My husband and I contacted the Floorman in November to have our floors replaced. We were in the process of selling our house and under contract, when it was broken into and our refrigerator was stolen. The thieves dragged the refrigerator across the entire length of our Brazilian cherry floors. I immediately spoke to Brian Rubidoux and he was able to get our floors done within a week or so of when we agreed to the pricing. He offered us the lowest pricing we found anywhere, was fast (even during a very busy season for him, with a holiday coming up as well), and the floors looked perfect when he was done. I had great service with this conpany, which was recommended by Lumber Liquidators. They arrived on time each time they were supposed to, from measuring to finishing. They moved heavy furniture, and worked with me moving around the house as I was working from home. They installed laminate flooring in 6 rooms. They finished on time, and within the budget we had negotiated. The two gentlemen who did the actual installation were friendly, efficient, and eveh helped me put a large rug under my iron bed when they were finished. We are giving The Floor Man a five star review. We had no problems, everything went very well and we love our flooring (LR, DR, foyer and hall). Our salesman was Brian and he told us exactly what to expect and he followed up to make sure things were done and on schedule. The crew was hard working and courteous. They covered our open doorways with plastic to keep other parts of the house clean. There was dust due to the removal of the ceramic floor but that was to be expected. They cleaned up afterward as much as they could. We couldn't be more pleased. read more

The Floor Man did a GREAT job for a great price. They refinished a wood floor, refinished a parquet floor, laid one new wood floor, and laid marble in the bathroom. Their sales person was very helpful and knowledgeable, and I felt like he cared about taking care of our needs. I never felt like they were pushy, or anything but trustworthy.
