We got there right when they opened at 4:30 on. Saturday. Drinks were amazing . Had a sangria it is not on the menu. Bartender even came over to see how the drinks were ..LOVED THAT. Staff was awesome friendly. Someone came by at least every 5 minutes and asked how things were going . Our waitress seemed timid and unconfident. She was good but probably will be much better once she gets more experience she had great food and drink recommendations though so she gets a thumbs up very sweet young lady. The owners even came by several times and chatted us up. They are a very sweet couple. Made our first visit feel Like home. My date and i were both from Out of town but plan to visit here again real Soon. We had stuffed flounder with sweet potato and broccoli. The potato came with a brown sugar butter. Yummy. The sauce for the flounder was so yummy i had to take my bread to soak up the rest of it.. We also had a ribeye ordered it medium came out perfect the seasoning was subtle but right on point . Had the peach cheesecake tasted like peach cobbler yummy. Only complaint it appeared to have been frozen and not defrosted enough. Felt like I was trying to cut a hard stick of butter. I wish i could leave a negative 0! The food was very mediocre. I only ordered an appetizer and after that I decided, i didn't want anything else this establishment had to offer. In June, my wife and I went to The Flint for our anniversary. It was not our first time eating there. Because of our previous experience, we returned. However, on this day we were disappointed with the food and service. My wife's fish was overcooked and our dessert was thrown on the table as the waiter quickly rushed to another group. The restaurant appeared to be understaffed, as we were completely ignored by the waitstaff. For a $130.00 dollar meal for 2 in Albany, Ga, we expected, at a minimum, to get our drink glasses refilled in a timely manner. i came to the restaurant for a ladies night and we were not disappointed. I had the best culinary experience I've had in a long time . I had the steak cooked medium well it was cooked to perfection . The drinks were beautifully crafted (and strong lol) . one of my friends had the whole fish ( i think I ate half of hers lol) everything was delicious! The food is cooked and prepped with soul and care. The waitress, the cook, the owners were all wonderful. The attire is casual and there's plenty of parking. I had to explore their Oxtail dish and I'm so glad I did. The oxtails were flavorful, meaty, and incredibly tender. Being on a KETO diet they sautéed some spinach for me as a special side. It was really good! The classic potato soup is excellent down to the to the last drop. The Flint wings are great tasting, not over fried, and tender. Already a fan of Chef G before I got here so let me just put that out there. When I tell you I have even MORE respect for this dude's talent and creativity I mean it. This is just what Albany needed. My first experience was for a birthday party so we ordered a lot of food. That being said I was able to try quite a few different things at once. Because I refuse to tell you all the things I ate just know we pretty much covered the menu. There wasn't anything any of us could complain about. The service was great as well. My husband had the money in cash to pay for the ticket of $250 plus dollars, but the cash was for us to spend a night out on the town. Great decor, family owned with the owner going table to table greeting guests, and the food was above and beyond any big city dining and the owners son was the executive chef who came by the table too. There was 4 of us and we all ordered different dishes and every dish was excellent! The wait staff was on top of their game, well trained. I visited The Flint last night for supper. We sat around the bar and enjoyed the goings on. Our waitress was very attentive and kept a close eye on us. I had the stuffed Flounder (stuffed with crab), with Gouda cheese grits and grilled asparagus. The flounder was outstanding. The grits were mind-blowing and the asparagus was the same. We enjoyed an IPA to wash it down and it The Flint was great ending to a very busy day. The atmosphere was fantastic and the setting is perfect. The Flint. It's a good name. That's a good start. It's a good concept too. Where this place falls down is its service. Wait 30 minutes to put a drink order in. Wait 25 more for the drink. Martini comes out warm because it's been sitting at the bar for 20 minutes. Have you ever had a warm martini? It's gross. Is this place trying to make money? Or burn good will? Also, a martini is almost all gin. Why does it taste it almost like water? The food. Is good. But like is it Atlanta good? No. But is it Atlanta prices? Hell yes. Dishes tried: Waygu burger, fried catfish, greens, sea bass, artic char, fried shrimp. I'd avoid the sea bass and the shrimp. The burger is good but not 16 good. But it's better than what used to be in downtown Albany, thus 5 stars. read more

The Flint had potential, but unfortunately it has fallen under the Albany customer service curse. The hostess was not very friendly when we walked in for dinner, and did not say anything when we were leaving, nor did she offer to open the door when I was struggling to push my stroller and open the door at the same time. I know she had seen me because I passed right by her. We were with a large party so we were expecting the food to take a long time, but what I didn't expect was for half the table to be finished with their food before the other half even came out. It seemed like in the entire restaurant there were only two servers, which doesn't work when you are trying to bring out food for a large party. My husband ordered the Lamb which he said came out cold. He didn't want to send it back for another because most of the party was already done by the time his came out and he didn't want to wait around. He also had ordered a beer and was still waiting for it 30 minutes later. When they finally brought it out to the wrong person, he realized it was the wrong beer. If you are in the restaurant industry you should be checking things twice before they go out to customers. I ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes, but somehow ended up with spinach as a side which is on the opposite side of the food spectrum. The salad I ordered was supposed to come with the pickled okra but I never saw any in there. If we hadn't been with a large party then I probably would have said something but it seems like they were already stressed out and behind so I didn't want to make it worse. The bill for my husband and I was almost $100 with the automatic 25% gratuity, which I think is kind of crazy since the service was not on par with that number at all. Sat at the bar and food was late but Trent the bartender was great. He never complained about not having help just kept hustling back and forth. His service was great, food was decent but I blame management for not staffing correctly. A lot of people were waiting and not happy because there wasn't staff around to attend to their needs. Trent and a few other ladies for sure went above and beyond to service the whole bar areas and a wedding at the same time! Staff appropriately and this restaurant will have a better review from me. I attended a birthday brunch on July 6, 2024 at The Flint. The reservations were at 2:00pm we were seated at 2:30pm. The music was extremely loud. The server took forever to come to the table to take drink orders so we decided to order food and drinks when the server finally came to the table at 3:25pm. We did get the food but no drinks not even sodas. We asked to speak with management and management sent the busboy to our table and he said the manager told me to tell yall he is off, however, there was a restaurant full of people. After a few minutes the manager came back on the floor with the opened champagne bottle he had been drinking on the entire time we were there. He walked around the restaurant and when he comes around to our table, he said something to the table. And I said, "Oh, you're back on the clock now because you just told the busboy to tell us you were off." He said, "If I had known it was yall I would have come to see with yall wanted." I processed to tell him about the terrible service we received. He said, "Do yall see how many niggas in here? Do yall see how many motherfuckers in here?" I was confused because I do not know him like that. I asked, "Could we get a discount?" He raised his finger up in the air pointing with the opened champagne bottle and said, "Yall niggas pay yalls check and get the fuck out of my establishment." We paid for our food and left the establishment. His disregard for our concerns is unacceptable and reflects poorly on his professionalism. He was unprofessional, rude and a drunken individual. And our children were dining with us and had to see this unacceptable behavior. He was unconcerned about our situation and did not care that we were unsatisfied with his food service. He lacked empathy and failed to prioritize customer satisfaction. His disrespectful attitude further exacerbated the situation, leaving us feeling frustrated and disrespected. read more

When booking a large party, the hostess should inform the patron booking the reservation about how much the auto-gratuity is. A 25% auto-gratuity for a 10% tip service is baffling. The restaurant is located in downtown Albany, surrounded by a lot of shops that look like they're closing down. I obviously know Albany isn't Las Vegas, but even the highest upscale restaurant in Las Vegas doesn't charge 25% gratuity. The food one menu was alright. The fried chicken was plain. No condiments added into the sandwich to make it flavorful. The steak didn't come with any steak sauce or any sauce to give it any flavor. The Mac and Cheese was a bit running. And the mash potatoes was served cold. I'm not too sure if they're trying to go for an upscale restaurant but man, this place needs some work. read more

I was visiting from out of town and received recommendation from our Uber driver to try The Flint and I'm so happy I did!! I had a chance to try the oxtail and ribeye dinners and they were delicious. If I had to choose between the two I would definitely say that the oxtails are a must try! I also has the cookie for dessert which was the perfect end to a great meal. Aside from the food, the restaurant is spacious and has a great ambience. The food is absolutely amazing and check Facebook for opening and closing times! They are open tonight from 6pm-8pm... They have a full bar, and great customer service. I'd give it 6/5 stars if I could! The food was absolutely phenomenal; I eat out a lot and like to try new places and this was some of the best food I've had in several years. The atmosphere was awesome too! They had a live singer that was singing just loud enough to provide some good ambience but not so loud you couldn't have a conversation. What made the experience even cooler was meeting the executive chef and co-owner, Deuce. He shared a really cool story with me of how the place came to be what it is today, and the fact that the building was originally built to sell cotton over a hundred years ago and is now an incredibly successful black-owned business makes for an amazing success story for him and everyone else who helped him get it up and running. I attended a birthday party here in a reserved room within the restaurant. Upon arrival, the room still wasn't ready - which is a bit disappointing seeing that it cost $200 to reserve the room. After about 20 minutes they were ready to allow us into the room. The menu is somewhat limited but it's sufficient. I ordered the oxtails (which came with basmati rice) and two sides: colored greens (a blend of mustards, collards, and turnips) and a sweet potato. My cousin ordered the lamb chops (pictured). My oxtails were well seasoned (although I wish they had trimmed a bit of the fat off) and the basmati rice soaked up all the oxtail juices and it was PHENOMENAL. The colored greens were awful - they looked like they came straight out of the can! The sweet potato was okay. It wasn't hot enough to really melt my cinnamon butter. My drink (pictured) was the paradise one. It's a coconut flavored beverage. My cousin enjoyed her lamb chops. Overall, the meal was good. I observed several other attendees orders and several mentioned that their Mac n cheese was very dry. The server was awesome, although we were all surprised to see a mandatory 22% tip added to the bill. The highest I've ever seen is 18%. I believe that is something that should be mentioned upfront. read more
