My husband & I stopped in to eat & it did not disappoint!! The fish was fried to perfection & i cook fish a lot!! Great batter! Crab cakes are the best I've had outside of eating fresh on the coast. Potato appetizer was delicious! Service was great! We're going back for more! Highly recommend so long as they keep the same cook! read more

Unassuming on the outside, exceeds expectations on the inside! We went on a Tuesday, seems like a quiet day to go. Business was brisk but we were quickly welcomed by one of the servers. She let us pick a table and said our server would be there shortly. Hazel stopped by shortly after and apologized for the wait (we didn't really wait). She took our drink order and said she'd be right back, she was. Having not been there before, we asked for recommendations. She gave us several but was not overwhelming. She was super patient when we went to order and gave us excellent opinions about our selections. The fried calamari was yummy, breaded just right and flavorfull. The main courses came out quickly and prepared to perfection. I got the ribeye (thanks Hazel!) while my family got seafood. It was hard to pick from all the amazing sides, my wife contemplated having only sides for her meal! Hazel was very attentive and even indulged me when I asked a bunch of questions. All in all, a HUGE win where I didn't expect it. Thank you Hazel and the Fishin Hole for a memorable meal and evening. read more

Stopped in one afternoon for a bite to eat recently. Kind of tried on the inside, dark paint and interior makes the place feel dated and depressed. Our server was absent, she showed up and got our drinks then disappeared? It was another ten minutes or better before returning. She seemed to be preoccupied, one of the other servers actually helped us with a couple things because ours was nowhere to be found. Fried green tomatoes to start. They were good, well prepared and nicely seasoned. Red snapper grilled with a loaded baked potato, pinto beans, and hush puppies for my dinner. It was okay, the fish was overcooked a little. The spud was baked hours well ahead of service and was hard in spots. The pintos and puppies were okay and pretty decent flavor wise. It was an okay meal, not great not bad. Okay. Coconut shrimp, as an add to our meal, we ordered half a dozen. They were also okay. 3 Stars it served its purpose 01280 read more

Everything about this restaurant has me saying, never again. I've gone twice. Almost a year apart. It was absolutely terrible. I was running to the nasty bathroom before I even left. Everything we were served was dripping in grease. It's so dark, you can't see the dirt. When you go to the bathroom, there's a sign that says outhouse, you don't go through those doors, you turn at the sign. There was a hole in the floor that I think was supposed to be covered. But wasn't. There's a changing table that looks like it's never been cleaned and honestly I wouldn't put my baby on. The bathroom is dirty, it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. I have no idea how people eat in the place. I will never go back. I paid $50 for 2 meals, an appetizer and 2 teas, FOR LUNCH. read more

Dark and dingy corner booths with busted blinds. The chicken tenders were chewy, the lettuce was brown, and the steak was supposed to be rib eye but I only had a bit when I decided I wasn't sure what it was. I ate almost nothing and still needed 3 tums to keep it down. This is a hard pass. Our waitress was the highlight of the trip and as sweet as she could be. read more

Catfish plate was really good, waitresses are friendly and service was great. Prices are a little higher than we expected but, we didn't complain! read more

I mean it's okay, but if you are looking for really fresh fish, this is not the place.

This is the Burger Man, a member of the Best Burgers in America Association, and I was invited to come and score their burger. It was a good burger. The Meat little tough and leaned toward the Dry side. The Toppings were good and blended well. I suggested they use Iceberg Lettuce instead of romaine. Overall, all it was a good experience. They have great Seafood specials and other meat specials. read more

Food was great, service was great and portions were right for the cost. I suggested they look at Swai for their fish. It's cheaper and tastes like catfish. read more

Being from New Orleans it sure is nice to find seafood fresh cooked to order. The wait staff was very good and the prices were worth it my family and I WILL BE BACK read more

We had an amazing dinner last night! The food is absolutely delicious. I don't know how they do it, but their fried food is exceptional. It's crispy and melts in your mouth. I especially loved the catfish, hush puppies, fried okra, and fried squash. The salad bar has lots of options and everything was fresh. Our server was extremely kind and even let my son help feed the fish in the aquarium. I highly recommend this restaurant and next time we are in town we will 100% go back. read more

The Fishin Hole - Seafood Near Me - Centre, Alabama

The food and the ambience was wonderful. I'd definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area

Haven't been in a long while, thought we would give them another shot. They were not very busy for a Saturday night. The server was good. The only reason why they got 3 stars is because of the way the billing is done. The server read us the total off of his machine, without giving us a copy. He printed out a receipt and we realized he had not charged us for the dessert, and let him know of the error. My husband paid and made sure to click " no tip" as we like to tip in cash. As I reviewed the final bill, a 20% tip was already added to the bill, without our permission. As I stated earlier, we had issues with this place a while before and believe in second chances. Sorry, we will not be back. I know now why they were not busy on a Saturday night. read more

This was our first time in, and I have to say we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The food choices were varied, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. My father-in-law and wife got the hamburger steak with gravy, peppers, and onions. I got the crab cakes. All the sides we ordered tonight were delicious, and we especially loved the fresh salad bar with over 40 items available. If you're looking for a reasonably priced restaurant in Centre, Alabama with a great staff and ownership, we feel we can recommend the Fishin' Hole. We will be back many more times in the future! read more

This is a quaint little truck stop type diner that is vintage in many ways. Friendly wait staff, super sized salad bar, great menu offerings and very clean. At first appearances you may be tentative about going in but believe me, if you have the chance, take it. Three of us visited for dinner and each had grilled fish with various seasonings. We watched as other tables received their food and planned our orders for the next visit. Worthy of a look see if you stop for lunch or dinner in Centre, AL. read more

Very much enjoyed the catfish. Prices were reasonable and service was good. Salad bar was lacking in my opinion. But would eat here again

On a recent business trip a client recommended The Fishin' Hole to us. It did not disappoint! Many restaurants were closed since it was a Monday and we loved that this pace is open 7 days a week. Our food was absolutely delicious and service was great. Ciji was our server and she was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return. Can't wait to try their dinners. read more

Great food and amazing service! The shrimp were perfectly cooked and the fried pickles were good.

The food here has always been consistently good. But ever since the beginning of covid-19, the quality of the dishes seem to have gone downhill just a little. I don't know if it's a change in vendors or a change in cooks. The food is still good, of course, but I wouldn't say it's outstanding. The staff is always friendly and attentive - even when they are busy and short-staffed. read more

The service was amazing! The food was so good :) We're from Rome and we were in Alabama and decided to eat there for the first time. Did not disappoint, definitely recommend! read more

Food is always great, fresh, and very generous servings. Service is always fast and friendly!

We had three people, two got the buffet and one got the shrimp Alfredo. It was the worst food any of us had ever had. The service was fine, the waitress was nice. We were not certain that the inside was clean and the buffet was in horrible condition. They never restocked the buffet and there were only two burnt pieces of chicken when we entered and left thirty minutes later. We will never be back. read more

Ate there this evening with my family- food was fantastic and out to the table quickly. Stephanie was our server and she is hilarious and so attentive. We will be back again and again. read more

Their all you can eat catfish was some of the best I've had. I had both fried and grilled and the fillets were large. My husband had the fried and blackened and enjoyed both. It was definitely worth $13.95. You won't be sorry. read more
