First of all, the looks from outside are very deceiving. It has plenty of room inside, is clean, and nicely decorated. There is an area for seating outside and what looks like a banquet room for large groups. The service was wonderful. Our server, Cheyenne, was very friendly and took very good care of us. She answered all our questions about the various dishes and sauces (some may be hot) and was very attentive the entire time we were there. We ordered the Sailor's Boil, which came with crab legs, shrimp, lobster, potatoes, and corn. The sauce was delicious, as was all the seafood and sides. We had a piece of strawberry cheesecake for a birthday dessert, which was also delicious. Be prepared to be messy and to work for your food (cracking the shells). It was bad on several fronts. Short staffed and delays in ordering and delivery of food. The quality of the fried fish was marginal at best. The onion rings were cold and greasy. The vegetable medley was cold and had no flavor. The ambiance was that of unruly children. I will not be back. read more

We were greeted at the door by the host who was friendly and sat us quickly. Our server named Rissa was nice and knowledgeable. My sister and I wanted steamed seafood with butter and lemon. Rissa talked us into a side of their King Claw butter blend and it was delicious. Rissa kept our drinks refilled and our table bussed as needed. We asked for extra lemons and she was on top of it. The food, Omg the food was amazing. My sister and I each got King claw with our chosen boil. Nephew asked for a lobster tail with his. The crab was just perfect and came right out of the shell. Between all of us we had Shrimp Clams Snow crab King crab Dungeness crab Lobster tail and crawfish and everything was cooked perfectly. We were so happy with our service and food that we reached out to the manager and told him about our wonderful experience. Food is good, we have no crab leg places in Rome like that so having to drive 10 mins versus 1 hour. Place is always a vibe, service is decent. They do karaoke on Thursdays is almost a club in there lol. Check out king claw, make you get the lunch menu though! read more

The food and service were immaculate. We all got boils and were thoroughly impressed with it. The broccoli in the boil was ridiculously yummy. I got it on the side and they mixed the juices from boil in it. The server was so kind and patient. Loved having her as our server tonight. 10/10 read more

I'm only writing this to help the owners correct some things (they are great guys). I'm in the industry so I get the need for constructive criticism. The food: The calamari, soggy. The grilled grouper, microwaved at best. The bar: I ordered knob creek rocks double after asking the manager/bartender what a single pour is. She said 1.5 oz. Okay, double. It's free pour so I noticed her pour count. If a double is 3oz, the count should be a 6 count. The pour was a 2 count at best. So not only did I not get a double, I didn't even get a single. A 2 count is 1oz. SMH. When I asked if this was a double, she said I guess I should have poured it before I put the ice in there. Then charged me for a double. When she came back to check on my food and asked how is was, I shrugged and said it's okay I guess. She ignored my displeasure. When I asked for my check and she noticed I hadn't touched the microwaved grouper, she proceeded to bring me my check. It's yet another "tasty crab" style restaurant. Crab boils and fried baskets...all of which are tasty. The crab boils are fantastic and fresh. This place is new and huge. The service is great and the price is ok. Obviously you'll always get a better deal cooking for yourself, but I would recommend this spot if you're in Rome and want some crab. read more

Colin the bartender was phenomenal! He was also my server and was funny, very energetic and kind. He attended to all of our needs, as well as made sure our drinks were constantly filled up. He made the restaurant very amazing to be in. The atmosphere of the inside felt very decorative, gorgeous, and pulled you in and allowed you to experience the seafood and its aspects while listening to some great music. I ordered the chicken tenders and I must say that they are not recommended for children due to being too hot. I mean they were steaming hot when opened up.They have phenomenal flavoring and the chicken tastes amazing. My wife had the build your own boil, and the snow crab cluster with some shrimp, and her being a seafood lover stated it was the best seafood she had so far. Much better than Cod & Tail in west Rome. This hit the spot. I've been craving seafood for WEEKS and nothing would scratch the itch. I move to Aragon two years ago from the city and it's HARD finding seafood, well basically any variety of food in a small town. If you want something different an hours drive is the norm. So when I saw Rome had a King Claw my sister and me drove right over. Even she was bragging about how good they were and she is not a big seafood restaurant person. The only reason I'm giving it a four stars is because the service was a little lacking at the end of our meal and the hush puppies were too greasy. The seafood was great! Very fresh. read more

We had lunch there today. The menu looked and sounded good. I ordered the shrimp boil with a half ear of corn and two red potatoes. I would rate it OK ... my friend had fish tacos. He said the fish tasted rubbery, fishy, and bitter. He ate half of the first taco and left the other behind for the garbage. The waitress was friendly. My wife and I had traveled to Rome, Georgia specifically to eat at Red Lobster, since I had a "birthday reward" there. However, when we arrived, they were closing. So, I did a local search for Seafood places that were still open at 9pm and King Claw popped up. They were open late, so we decided to make the short trip over to see what it was about. I have to say we were both pleasantly surprised. The menu is plentiful, with choices for fish, crab, shrimp and oysters. There is a short menu with other things for people that aren't into seafood and a kid friendly menu as well. There is a full bar. The place is very clean and very nicely decorated for a pleasant dining experience. The restrooms were very clean and well appointed. But of course the main thing we went for was seafood. My wife opted for the cornmeal coated fried flounder. She had a side of corn on the cob and a mixed vegetable bowl. I anticipated trying the flounder, but she finished it off before I could-something she rarely does. So, her plate gets an A. I decided on the Glazed Salmon (recommended by the manager), a 1/2 pound of snow crab. The salmon came with mixed veggies and the snow crab was brought in a steam bag with corn and potatoes. I very big dinner indeed. The glazed salmon was spot on, cooked just right and the glaze was a nice accompaniment instead of an overwhelming taste. The corn, potatoes and veggies were all delicious and freshly prepared. My crab legs were very good. But they were a battle to eat. The meat rarely came sliding out the way I'm used to, so it was a little laborious. But the finished product was good enough that I didn't mind. So, the final verdict? Yes, we will go back and take our sons and their families next time. Our server was plenty attentive without being a bother and kept our glasses filled. I hope she gets the $5 we were told she would get for a good review on her. Go see them. They're somewhat new and are trying to build a nice customer base. read more

I thought the customers were always right. It's up to the restaurant to make sure the order is correct and not the customers. We are putting our faith in the restaurant. So it's the fault of the restaurant and the sorry staff for not informing the customer of there asinine rules. I will be one of the customers who waive giving you bad reviews as long as I alive. read more

The low country boil was very good, the sausage was as good as I've ever had. The shrimp was fresh and cooked perfect. The calamari was a little rubbery, but still ok. Service was really good. I'll go back, best seafood I've had in Rome. read more
