The pontoon nachos are just massive in serving. They are served on a tray approximately 20"-24" round. They are filled with all sorts of toppings. The service is hit and miss. Family of 7 stopped here on a Sunday afternoon while traveling on vacation. WOW! The view was incredible and it was the perfect day to sit outside. Since everyone was hungry, I asked what the waitress recommended and she suggested a few things, one being the pontoon nachos. Excellent recommendation! Perfect for all of us to share. Catfish was fresh and absolutely delicious! My daughter got a burger and said it was the best burger she's ever had at a restaurant. The way Audie treats his employees is very unusual. cussing in a very unprofessional way. he is very rude and selfish, being mad at his servers because they have to attend to more than 50 people at one time. the waitress was only there for 2 weeks and it was a lot for her to handle at one time with no help, then proceeded to take her outside because she was upset and overwhelmed and continued to fire her. I think until this place learns how to respect their employees. the same way their employees have to respect the managers. We went with a very large group, kids included, and they were very accommodating. Great little server! I highly recommend the MVP frozen drink in the fresh pineapple!! Never been here before today, but I will definitely be back in the warmer months! The dining room is very nice, no wait for us today. The deck area was closed due to rain and it was too cold anyway. The prices are reasonable and there is a good bit of food to choose from. I have heard about their burgers, so that's what I went with. I was not disappointed! Very fresh and very good! The potato salad is very good and I recommend trying it! Our server was very polite and knowledgeable. The table was clean and the it wasn't too loud in the dining room. They have plenty of tvs if the game is on. The only thing I didn't like was there was a sports talk show on one of the TVs and that's what they chose to put over their music system. Some music would've been a better choice. This place does advertise live entertainment and there is a lot of room out on the deck to accommodate everyone! Better service at The Grid Iron. We had all met there from out of town, with our 91 year old father, who just moved there to be treated for dimentia. I drove 200 miles from TN, and my son and his wife 800+ miles from FL to meet... we never knew of the signs that were posted: no pets... until we had walked with dad up the handicapped ramp and gotten into the building. We had a small, 6lb inside dog with us, contained in a buggy, and had hoped to eat outside on the deck overlooking the lake, where no one was seated at the time, incidentally. Management couldn't have cared less. This establishment obviously is a draw for some in the area, but they clearly value rules over relationships and policies over people. They simply did...not...care what our circumstance was and even popped over on FB to insult us after we left. However, we had a wonderful lunch (better tasting, according to all my relatives in Centre) at The Grid Iron, just a few miles up the road, where the service was EXCELLENT. #gridiron We will be visiting my father in Centre many more times in the coming years, but the rudeness with which we were treated has ensured we'll never be back to this place until management changes, which is sad. I keep trying this place in hopes I'm just getting the wrong thing but so far none of the food has blown me away. Tried the grilled chicken sandwich today- chicken was rubbery. My daughters salad was much better. I don't try the mixed drinks- I just stick to beer- but they look good. My only concern with the drinks is all the mixers that are stored next to the bar. Maybe those are for the frozen drink machines but I prefer fresher ingredients for mixed drinks rather than the sugar syrup mixes. It's worth a try if you are in the area. Views are great! read more
