The mussels are done in butter, white wine and garlic. How is that wrong? (It ain't!). The oysters on the half shell come with lemon and there is Tabasco on the table. All you need right there. Driving out to a castle ruin, the cabin is just off the water looking to the west with free-air tables and farm next to. All the seafood is freshly caught and prepared to order, and absolutely amazing. When in Scotland, mussels are an absolute must! We had the full seafood platter plus the mussels and we all wanted to eat more and more. If we didn't have to catch the ferry to Islay, we could have easily stayed for a second helping and enjoyed the view and laid back atmosphere. They were breaded and I much prefer batter-fried fish. I had never had breaded fish in the U.K. before. The fish was also smaller than others I've had and the fries were quite soggy. I suspect that this was all frozen. This was my first mediocre fish and chips meal that I had since arriving in the U.K. 3 weeks ago. It didn't really fill us up but it was satisfying enough until the next day. Seating is outdoor only and it's in a nice location to watch the world go by. It's also pretty touristy. I really won't recommend this for any meal unless you're exhausted and don't care what your food tastes like. Oban has so many options for good seafood so take the time and go elsewhere.
