We have enjoyed many meals at Julie's Place over the years. We live about 3 miles away and it is…read moreout neighborhood go-to. First, Julie is almost always there and when she isn't, her daughter is. They are warm and welcoming. We have seen very little change in waitstaff over several years and have been told she is great to her employees. That isn't surprising, given that Julie's Christian values are strong. You will love the atmosphere, where the decor is antique and filled with sunflowers and old trucks. Notice the cashier's desk when you enter! Julie serves Southern comfort foods that we southerners grew up eating. Everything is fresh and cooked onsite. We love this place!! We can be found there at least twice monthly!

When we walked in, we waited to be seated, we were standing close to the cash register and kitchen area. As we waited we listed to one of the staff complaining that wasn't a great sign. As we were being seated, we noticed all the cute decor! Someone took a lot of time to make the place look so cute! The waitress was super attentive! Hubby ordered the special, a Meatball sandwich and I ordered a salad with fried chicken tenders... I had to cheat a little bit. That Fried Chicken was calling my name! The food came out after a little bit of a wait. I completely understand because the chicken was fresh. But my poor hubby got a mess of a sandwich. It appears they made the sandwich and it sat while the chicken cooked. It was a soppy soggy mess. The bread was drenched and completely mush. He said the French Fries weren't much better. I asked him if he could eat just the meatballs and he picked up them each up with a fork and each and everyone of them were completely black on one side. Totally burned. Boy I felt bad because my chicken was delicious! This is the reason I added two stars. We went to pay, my husband leaving his hot mess in his plate. The owner was at the cash register, I found this out because she answered the phone while checking us out (stating her name was Julie). She was in such a mood, she was rude to the person on the phone placing an orderIn fact she was even rude to us, she scared the bjesus out of me....so we didn't say a word. I sure didn't want to complain and start an altercation . Hubby will never go back. He was not happy at all. I might go back, maybe with a friend and hope next time is better ‍ Possibly everyone was having a bad day? It was not crowded when we dined, as it was around 2:30pm. We thought this would be an asset, but we were wrong. Here is hoping it was an off day for them. Dine at your own risk my friends. Stay away from soggy sandwiches! Go for the fried chicken

I wanted to try their pancakes but didn't want a full stack, and our server Robin was wonderful in recommending the Sweet Start. One thing we really appreciated is that all breakfast entrees include coffee or tea, and the prices are already very reasonable. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that even though we ordered specialty coffees, we could still enjoy complimentary refills of regular coffee. The restaurant has a charming and unique atmosphere, with every table looking a little different from the next. For my meal, I ordered the Sweet Start, which included one pancake, eggs, and bacon. I also appreciated the transparency from the staff. When I asked for an extra serving of their homemade pecan butter, I was informed upfront that there would be an additional charge....a level of honesty that's surprisingly rare these days. My husband ordered the Banana Nut French Toast comes with homemade whipped cream and homemade pecan butter, which also came with bacon. He added a side of eggs as well. Everything was delicious. I'm especially particular about pancakes, and I can honestly say they serve some of the best pancakes I've had. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and what stood out most was how genuinely happy all the staff seemed to be. It created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made our visit even more enjoyable. We would definitely return the next time we're in the area.

We perused what items we could eat - yikes if only they offered black bean patties as a substitute. We then checked their health department ratings (available on their Yelp page) and decided not to eat there. We hope their health department issues get resolved, and that their ratings climb up significantly!

They had some nice-looking pastries from another local bakery (which itself is open limited hours so coming here makes sense). They were out of almond croissants but offered me the display for free, saying it might be a bit stale. It was, but the quality of the filling was still clear, so far be it from me to complain. My matcha was just straight matcha, a bit of a disappointment given their focus is clearly on complex coffee-based drinks. However, in addition to providing a connection for veterans, they also fronted a "making men" mentorship program for teaching hands-on skills to young men. I could see the cafe having done a bit better, but I would definitely recommend supporting this business.

He roasts his own coffee and espresso beans locally, and has so many unique specialty coffee drinks on the menu. This shop is creative and just what Hayesville needed as an addition to the local culture. I have enjoyed every drink I've had and the pastries are WONDERFUL! All the local goods and clothes sold in the shop are super cute. Zach partners with local artisans to make coffee-bean infused goods like goats milk soap. Like I said- super unique. The vibes are great and coffee is delicious- you would regret not stopping in!! ** Bonus- the owner makes coffee ice cubes and puts them in your drink for FREE! How nice
