This was the cutest little donut and coffee shop (in downtown Murphy, NC) we have seen, and we go to A LOT of coffee shops! The owner was there and extremely friendly and helpful. We actually learned they have ties to Tampa, where we are from. He gave us suggestions on some places to visit AND suggested donuts to try. We had the raspberry filled, apple fritter, lemon filled and chocolate frosted with sprinkles. Their filled flavors were soooo good and the fritter was amazing. Definitely a place to stop at and spend a little time, and we hope to come back before our trip is through. read more

Word of warning: The hours on this place stated they were open until 6, but I walked in over two hours earlier than that to find someone ahead of me attempting to buy all of their remaining donuts, which was not a huge number at that point. Fortunately, these people were not sticklers and offered me the chance to buy one before they took the rest. I sampled a pumpkin spice donut with a chocolate drizzle, which was a strange but effective flavor combination. They had a strong variety of flavored drinks, and getting a lavender-infused chai left me with a fresh high-quality teabag to steep as I roamed the town. But then they were closed. So again with the word of warning, this is the sort of place whose hours are until when they say or until when they sell out. Given that they have some quality stuff, I expect that they sell out even sooner on nicer days that the dreary weekend I stopped in. read more

Great spot in downtown Murphy. However, 10am on a Saturday and they pretty much sold out of everything. The line was long and slow. The options they did have were great but wished their was a better selection. So I guess get there real early for more choices. Also, their espresso machine broke after ordering a latte and the gentleman who was working the coffee area was quite rude about my desire for a refund versus having my latte made with regular coffee. I wasn't mad about it being broken but there is a difference between drip coffee and steamed milk vs an espresso latte, despite him suggesting it was the same. read more

OMG. Best donuts (doughnuts) on the planet, bar none. The real estate agent who sold us our cabin recommended it to me. We may relocate to Murphy permanently just to be close to Crafted Dough. My favorites (thus far) are the cream-filled and apple pie donuts. The raspberry-filled and bacon maple bourbon are right up there, too. Will definitely come back to try to more! Was not super sold on the charisma by the cashier behind the register but she did do a solid job at up sales for price per donut. I bought a half dozen so I could try multiple flavors. I got a cherry cobbler, s'mores, cream filled, raspberry filled, blackberry glazed, and a nut butter. The nut butter was by far the winner because it was salty and sweet and was just perfect. My second favorite was the cherry cobbler, amazing crumbles and cherry glaze. I asked the cashier what drink she recommended, didn't really get the feel that she was up for that so I went for thier seasonal carrot cake latte. Was a very subtle carrot cake but it did the trick, I downed it. Really happy that it already offered a non dairy milk. Will be bringing my family back asap to actually sit down and enjoy! This is the cutest little coffee shop, very clean and cozy. The staff were all so welcoming and helpful. We didn't get to try the doughnuts since it was later in the day when we went in but it smelled amazing inside. The coffee was so good, I had the crafted dough cold brew and it was delicious, my husband had a double espresso latte and my children had the hot chocolate all very good. We were looking for a good cup of coffee and found a great one. We will definitely be back before our vacation ends to try the doughnuts and get another great cup of coffee. read more
