So I came here after trying for 3 days. I walked in, and observed a very quaint shop. It was nice and dim and had some of their items on display. Funny enough, I didn't see anything mentioning they had won on cupcake wars. Anyway, they only had 8 cupcakes on display which I was a bit surprised. But I asked the nice lady which cup cakes won their award and they said 4 total but the carrot cake cupcake actually won the award. I also ordered a sweater weather cupcake. Cost a total of $7.49 for 2 cupcakes. I brought them back to my wife. I bit into the carrot cake first. It was very sweet. Moist, and creamy but very sweet. I then bit into the sweater weather which is a pumpkin cup cake, pumpkin icing and pumpkin something else. It was good but also very sweet. Overall, they were good but ultra sweet and costly for 2 cupcakes.
Great atmosphere, service is fantastic and the sweet treat selection is vast, the Italian creme donut paired with an ice coffee (sasquatch) was just the right afternoon combo.
Cute local sweet shop with lots of options! There's a few seats inside, but we decided to take ours to-go. I tried one of their famous strawberry lemon cupcakes, and it was delicious! The sweetness of the strawberry worked perfectly with the tart lemon, and the cake was moist and flavorful. I also tried a slice of their chocolate cheesecake, but it was a little too dense for me. The flavor was great though!
We stopped in here waiting to board the scenic railway, and really enjoyed the selection of sweet treats. We bought a selection of macarons and they were all baked to perfection and delicious! I didn't get a pic, but the extreme chocolate peanut butter cookie was probably the best cookie I've had in my life. They warmed it up, and it was everything you'd want in a cookie! We also tried the banana cupcake, a first for us, and were blown away. The prices are in line with a top of the line specialty bakery, but the quality and friendly service made it worth every penny!
Fantastic bakery! The cupcakes looked phenomenal but I opted for the chocolate chip cookie. It was baked perfectly with a slight crisp on the outside. Only knock I thought it was a tad too sweet of a dough and sorta overpowered the chocolate. Still a great cookie. We also had a peanut butter which was a PB lovers dream but may be too much for others. They even warmed it up for us which always makes it that much better. Definitely recommend!
This was our first stop as we were walking through Main Street and it was a nice surprise. I was with a group of 6 and all of us ended up purchasing some sweets. I got a double chocolate cupcake and 1 cookies and crème macaroon. I ate the macaroon immediately and took the cupcake back to eat later. The macaroon was fresh and a lot bigger than ones I've had which was a nice surprise. The cupcake was fresh, fluffy and so delicious. The next day we went back to Main street for breakfast and had to return to the Sweet Shoppe. A few of us got goodies. I had to get another macaroon- lemon this time. I can't believe I didn't get some to take back home to Atlanta. The staff were super friendly and welcoming.
I ordered a Peach pound cake online it was delicious. Cake was ready on time. Everyone that worked there was very friendly. I differently recommend getting a Sweet treat or drink from there. One of my family's favorite places in Blue Ridge.
Cupcake? Yes, please! The PB & J winner on Food Network Cupcake Wars was flavorful and melt in your mouth moist and tasty! Friendly quick service. Bright warm decor vibes. Off street parking. Definitely worth the stop for your sweet tooth and/or cup of coffee.
I walked in not knowing what to expect. All I saw was a lot of people and thought I would check it out. It was a bakery where they were known for their PB&J cupcake in the Cupcake Wars. I, unfortunately, did not try that, but ended up getting the fall fusion cupcake which was around $3.50. It was a blend of pumpkin and apple which was the perfect blend of autumn. This was honestly hands down one of the best cupcakes I've ever had, and that's saying something because I don't really like cake in general. They also had a variety of dessert such as tiramisu and donuts, while also having coffee to go with your dessert. They don't have much seating, so just make sure you find a spot to sit and eat. Service was good too! The lady told me which was their favorites and popular ones, and was really nice about it. If anyone goes, please try their PB&J cupcake for me!!
$-$$ We were at The Sweet Shoppe in Blue Ridge, Georgia for a very special celebration! It was Harry Potter's birthday, and they had these fabulous cupcakes all made with Harry Potter themes, and the shop was all decorated for Harry Potter's birthday. When we arrive there, it was pretty crowded, but the servers behind the counter were fabulous and kept in line moving. We had admired the wall art along with all of the beautiful cupcakes and treats that were displayed in the cases. They also had their signature chocolate chip cookie, And some delicious macaroons, which are always in their sweet shop. The ladies behind the counter were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and regards to what they had as treats. We ended up purchasing the themed cupcakes, and I also picked up a piece of cheesecake. Whenever we visit Blue Ridge, Georgia, we always visit this sweet shop as the owners are pretty well known for winning 'cupcake wars' (season 6) on the food network, and we are never disappointed! If you have a sweet tooth, may I suggest that you visit The Sweet Shoppe if you ever pass through Blue Ridge. Make memories and safe travels
Stopped in as we were strolling through town and looking through their windows, noticed the cupcakes on display and wanted to go in immediately. I then noticed a cupcake wars winner sign and got excited. Walked in and you're enveloped in a warm and cozy shop and friendly faces behind the counter. I've never had a strawberry cake / cupcake before and that's what caught my eye. I was affirmed in my decision making when it was met with a, "this is my favorite." We bought a few other items to take back to the cabin. That strawberry cupcake is a Keith Lee 10/10 - well balanced, not too sweet, moist and the cream on the top is just right. I'd come back just for that...a few days later I grabbed half a dozen to go for the flight back home.
If you are looking for sweets and treats well we definitely found it here. This shop located right in downtown Blue Ridge is a great place to stop and rest, have a coffee or espresso and try to choose from all the delicious treats. This is counter service ( think donut shop) with a back counter top to sit out. So not the most leisurely coffee experience. Based on how the line ropes were set up, I would assume this place gets packed and we noticed quite a bit of pick up orders too. We did try one of their award winning cupcakes, carrot cake flavor, it was fabulous, moist and just yummy. I will say probably one of the best I have had. We also ordered a petite day old cake, it tasted good but was a dry vanilla cake so really can't tell you in all fairness about the cakes.

When you get struck by a wild hair to turn your love into a marriage and have 4 days notice you change expectations. You NEVER expect anything like THIS! First it's elegant. I sent some idea photos and what I got was beyond perfect. Simple. Lovely. Perfect. THEN I ate the cake! A vanilla cake. Like what can you expect but OMG! It's a vanilla like I've never had. This is stab your granny for the recipe good! Honest! My hubby has NO sweet tooth but he gorged this down like a starving man eating slabs! It became a competition of who can eat more before it's gone! And now--well Everytime we are up we get a small cake and indulge. Even if we are just popping through the cupcake version is just as amazing. Look, I have no idea what is in this vanilla but it's AMAZING. You tell ME how they take vanilla cake- as basic as it gets- and turn it to incredible. I'm not even going to talk about everything else I've had I. The shop since then like macaroons, cinnamon rolls, that s'mores cupcake (drool). I'm just goi g to say Go! You will not regret it and whoever you bring treats home to will feel loved! But don't blame me if you get addicted to them because this is the best- hands down. read more
We saw people walking with coffee and they recommended The Sweet Shoppe. We absolutely fell in love with all of the positive words on the wall. The bakery items all looked delicious and we wanted them all. We ordered cinnamon bun and had it warmed. I ordered one of the specialty drinks (The Jolene) and my friends wanted just black coffee. They did not have any fresh coffee so they offered her espresso with water, and said they could bring the half and half out for her to add herself. The cinnamon bun was mouth watering and delicious. My friend and I both felt that our coffee wasn't very flavorful, and almost watered down. I would definitely try it again if ever in town, especially for the bakery items! read more
You can never get enough of the Sweet Shoppe of the South. And never write enough 5 star reviews. They won Cake Wars on the Food Network with a Winning Recipe for cupcakes and they also have a winning recipe for their business. Always lots of customers, friendly service, a good value, and repeat customers. My self included. I never tried their winning cupcake so today was day. The Peanut Butter and Jelly was just amazing and the Strawberry Shortcake Cupcake lived up to all the hype. In the middle of the downtown Blue Ridge Strip. Just look for the shop that has all the people coming in and out. And yes there are gluten free choices too. read more

A very cute, must visit spot in Downtown Blue Ridge. On a recent weekend trip, we stopped in as we were strolling through town in a rainy day. The Sweet Shoppe boasts being a Cupcake Wars winner and they did not disappoint. We ordered the "Worlds Best" chocolate chip cookie, a strawberry cupcake, a cinnamon roll (45 seconds in the microwave and it's to die for) and the Cupcake Wars winning cupcake (which is carrot cake). All we fresh and moist. Great ingredients that elevate the taste. We loved the goodies and the service so much that we stopped back in to order a lot more for our flight back home. We'll be back. read more

I ordered a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting for my 60th birthday. I was celebrating with some girlfriends for the weekend in the Georgia mountains. I placed the order over the phone and talked to a lady who recommended a 2-tiered, 6" cake for my number of guests. It was ready on time and everyone loved it. The buttercream frosting was a tad too sweet for me, but other than that, it was great! read more

I came here for coffee while visiting for spring break and ended up also getting the chocolate chip cookie because it was labeled "the worlds best chocolate chip cookie" so I was like "why not, let's give it a shot." It really was the best chocolate chip cookie I've eaten! It was soft and chewy, the perfect amount of sweetness (I don't have the biggest sweet tooth and my palate can't handle too much sweetness, I don't like when desserts taste like a spoonful of sugar, but this cookie was perfect). read more
Scrumptious choice to celebrate while in Blue Ridge. These were excellent! Choosing which one was so hard y'all! I went with turtle it didn't disappoint. Very good icing to cake ratio. The cake was fresh! The hardest decision will be what flavor to go with. read more

This place was packed! The gals were apparently on a Food Network show and people flock to see them. They were very nice as was all the staff. Selection was great. My husband and children enjoyed the sweets but weren't raving so 4 out 5. Be warned that this is a typical small sweet shop and they are wearing masks but it becomes tight quarters quickly inside so if you're concerned about that waitvoutside until some people exit. read more
I happened to be in town running errands and dropped by to try their cupcake wars award winning flavor The pb & j was fantastic! The cake itself wasn't sweet by the icing and toppings were which made a good balance. The price was very reasonable. As this girl right here has traveled to larger cities with gourmet cupcakes! My mother isn't the biggest fan of cupcakes, she thinks they're overly sweet often but she enjoyed a bite of this! I'll have to make another trip up to this cute town and try more flavors at sweet shoppe! Oh and the ladies at the counter were so warm and friendly! read more

On a holiday week, there's a line. I wait until it slows down a bit. The brick walls and beautiful treats under glass tempt me into ordering a dozen cupcakes for a whopping $31. The service is okay - a tad mechanical. They aren't very large cupcakes, but they pack a flavor punch. The Miss Scarlett red velvet is the sure winner, followed by the strawberry. We don't love the apple butter one though it sounded good. The vanilla, triple chocolate, and caramel are all yummy. The pecan pie gets mixed reviews from my people - super rich. I don't know what I was expecting from these Season Six winners of Cupcake Wars, but I am pleased, not blown away. The are really good: a light cake with a heavy icing (but not overwhelming). I'll definitely try some other things along with the BEST red velvet next time. read more

Excellent place to stop to satisfy your sweet tooth. We stopped in for a morning treat before walking down Main Street. It is conveniently located in downtown blue ridge near numerous shops and food establishments. The employees working when we arrived were friendly and efficient. We were lucky and purchased our treats right before a line formed. Prices are comparable to other gourmet bakeries. I chose a cupcake and macaron. I was not a fan of the frosting, but I did love the rest of the cupcake and the macaron! I recommend this sweet shoppe to others. read more

We wanted to gift our friend getting married in Blairsville with a special wedding cake and since we live in Asheville, did our shopping online and by phone. We were very pleased with everything about The Sweet Shoppe and placed an order long distance. When we arrived in Blue Ridge we couldn't have been more delighted with the finished cake which was just the style we needed to decorate in the rustic/country style the Bride wanted for her ceremony and reception at McDowell Acres. The carrot/cream cheese frosting cake was absolutely delicious and received many compliments. We'll certainly be back to visit The Sweet Shoppe every time we're in the area and highly recommend their special services. read more

we ordered the cinnamon roll, the italian cream doughnut and the paula deen strawberry cupcake. first of all, the cinnamon roll was amazing! it was soft and you could definitely taste the cinnamon. but the italian cream was not as expected. the cream was more of a whipped cream than a thick and well...creamy cream. it was also very bland and dry. i didn't get to try the paula deen strawberry but im sure its pretty good. on the other hand the shop was very clean and it's a perfect spot to enjoy the treats you buy. the staff was very nice and helped us pick what we were going to buy and told us about how they were on cupcake wars a few seasons ago. i will be coming back here when we are in the area again and can't wait to try some of their other treats! would highly recommend them to you! read more

I'm SO glad we stumbled on this place! The strawberry cake was moist & delicious. My favorite (surprisingly) was the maple bacon cupcake. I came here 3 times in 3 days. The staff was so friendly, just lovely people. Only only item wasn't very good, in my humble opinion. The turtle cheesecake needs revamped. I didn't like it at all. It needs to be sweeter, and softer. Mine was kinda hard. It's needs WAY more toppings. Like go wild & top that with mini chocolate chips, diced pecans, caramel drizzle. read more
