We saw people walking with coffee and they recommended The Sweet Shoppe. We absolutely fell in love with all of the positive words on the wall. The bakery items all looked delicious and we wanted them all. We ordered cinnamon bun and had it warmed. I ordered one of the specialty drinks (The Jolene) and my friends wanted just black coffee. They did not have any fresh coffee so they offered her espresso with water, and said they could bring the half and half out for her to add herself. The cinnamon bun was mouth watering and delicious. My friend and I both felt that our coffee wasn't very flavorful, and almost watered down. I would definitely try it again if ever in town, especially for the bakery items! read more

They won Cake Wars on the Food Network with a Winning Recipe for cupcakes and they also have a winning recipe for their business. Always lots of customers, friendly service, a good value, and repeat customers. My self included. I never tried their winning cupcake so today was day. The Peanut Butter and Jelly was just amazing and the Strawberry Shortcake Cupcake lived up to all the hype. In the middle of the downtown Blue Ridge Strip. So I came here after trying for 3 days. I walked in, and observed a very quaint shop. It was nice and dim and had some of their items on display. Funny enough, I didn't see anything mentioning they had won on cupcake wars. Anyway, they only had 8 cupcakes on display which I was a bit surprised. But I asked the nice lady which cup cakes won their award and they said 4 total but the carrot cake cupcake actually won the award. I also ordered a sweater weather cupcake. Cost a total of $7.49 for 2 cupcakes. I brought them back to my wife. I bit into the carrot cake first. It was very sweet. Moist, and creamy but very sweet. I then bit into the sweater weather which is a pumpkin cup cake, pumpkin icing and pumpkin something else. It was good but also very sweet. The texture of the sponge is good--not too dense and not too light, but didn't find the flavor to be spectacular. The strawberry in particular had a boxed strawberry taste. Cute local sweet shop with lots of options! There's a few seats inside, but we decided to take ours to-go. I tried one of their famous strawberry lemon cupcakes, and it was delicious! The sweetness of the strawberry worked perfectly with the tart lemon, and the cake was moist and flavorful. I also tried a slice of their chocolate cheesecake, but it was a little too dense for me. We stopped in here waiting to board the scenic railway, and really enjoyed the selection of sweet treats. We bought a selection of macarons and they were all baked to perfection and delicious! I didn't get a pic, but the extreme chocolate peanut butter cookie was probably the best cookie I've had in my life. They warmed it up, and it was everything you'd want in a cookie! We also tried the banana cupcake, a first for us, and were blown away. Fantastic bakery! The cupcakes looked phenomenal but I opted for the chocolate chip cookie. It was baked perfectly with a slight crisp on the outside. Only knock I thought it was a tad too sweet of a dough and sorta overpowered the chocolate. Still a great cookie. This was our first stop as we were walking through Main Street and it was a nice surprise. I was with a group of 6 and all of us ended up purchasing some sweets. I got a double chocolate cupcake and 1 cookies and crème macaroon. I ate the macaroon immediately and took the cupcake back to eat later. The macaroon was fresh and a lot bigger than ones I've had which was a nice surprise. The cupcake was fresh, fluffy and so delicious. The next day we went back to Main street for breakfast and had to return to the Sweet Shoppe. A few of us got goodies. I had to get another macaroon- lemon this time. I walked in not knowing what to expect. All I saw was a lot of people and thought I would check it out. It was a bakery where they were known for their PB&J cupcake in the Cupcake Wars. I, unfortunately, did not try that, but ended up getting the fall fusion cupcake which was around $3.50. It was a blend of pumpkin and apple which was the perfect blend of autumn. This was honestly hands down one of the best cupcakes I've ever had, and that's saying something because I don't really like cake in general. They also had a variety of dessert such as tiramisu and donuts, while also having coffee to go with your dessert. They don't have much seating, so just make sure you find a spot to sit and eat. It was Harry Potter's birthday, and they had these fabulous cupcakes all made with Harry Potter themes, and the shop was all decorated for Harry Potter's birthday. When we arrive there, it was pretty crowded, but the servers behind the counter were fabulous and kept in line moving. We had admired the wall art along with all of the beautiful cupcakes and treats that were displayed in the cases. They also had their signature chocolate chip cookie, And some delicious macaroons, which are always in their sweet shop. The ladies behind the counter were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and regards to what they had as treats. We ended up purchasing the themed cupcakes, and I also picked up a piece of cheesecake. Whenever we visit Blue Ridge, Georgia, we always visit this sweet shop as the owners are pretty well known for winning 'cupcake wars' (season 6) on the food network, and we are never disappointed! Stopped in as we were strolling through town and looking through their windows, noticed the cupcakes on display and wanted to go in immediately. I then noticed a cupcake wars winner sign and got excited. Walked in and you're enveloped in a warm and cozy shop and friendly faces behind the counter. I've never had a strawberry cake / cupcake before and that's what caught my eye. I was affirmed in my decision making when it was met with a, "this is my favorite." If you are looking for sweets and treats well we definitely found it here. This shop located right in downtown Blue Ridge is a great place to stop and rest, have a coffee or espresso and try to choose from all the delicious treats. This is counter service ( think donut shop) with a back counter top to sit out. So not the most leisurely coffee experience. Based on how the line ropes were set up, I would assume this place gets packed and we noticed quite a bit of pick up orders too. We did try one of their award winning cupcakes, carrot cake flavor, it was fabulous, moist and just yummy. I will say probably one of the best I have had. A very cute, must visit spot in Downtown Blue Ridge. On a recent weekend trip, we stopped in as we were strolling through town in a rainy day. The Sweet Shoppe boasts being a Cupcake Wars winner and they did not disappoint. We ordered the "Worlds Best" chocolate chip cookie, a strawberry cupcake, a cinnamon roll (45 seconds in the microwave and it's to die for) and the Cupcake Wars winning cupcake (which is carrot cake). I cannot speak to everything in the shoppe bit we came in to check it out since we are big fans of good baked goods and cookies. We got two items, a chocolate chip cookie and a gooey lemon bar and this review is based solely on these two items. The chocolate chip cookie named the "The Worlds Greatest" at this shop. Have you ever had a toll house cookie you scooped or cut from a tube of cookie batter you bought at Kroger? If so, i promise yours was better than this super flat undercooked underwhelming cookie. Your kid will love it though and make a huge mess with these gooey greasy cookies that fall apart in your hand. Its from too much butter in your ingredients. The Lemon gooey bar- well...it was not even remotely gooey. Not even a little bit. It was cakey and dry and really not lemony at all. What it was is astonishing that someone made it, tasted it and decided to put gooey and lemon in the name. I was tricked. Food Network? Fer real? we ordered the cinnamon roll, the italian cream doughnut and the paula deen strawberry cupcake. first of all, the cinnamon roll was amazing! it was soft and you could definitely taste the cinnamon. but the italian cream was not as expected. the cream was more of a whipped cream than a thick and well...creamy cream. it was also very bland and dry. i didn't get to try the paula deen strawberry but im sure its pretty good. on the other hand the shop was very clean and it's a perfect spot to enjoy the treats you buy. the staff was very nice and helped us pick what we were going to buy and told us about how they were on cupcake wars a few seasons ago. i will be coming back here when we are in the area again and can't wait to try some of their other treats! would highly recommend them to you! read more

The service is okay - a tad mechanical. They aren't very large cupcakes, but they pack a flavor punch. The Miss Scarlett red velvet is the sure winner, followed by the strawberry. We don't love the apple butter one though it sounded good. The vanilla, triple chocolate, and caramel are all yummy. The pecan pie gets mixed reviews from my people - super rich. I don't know what I was expecting from these Season Six winners of Cupcake Wars, but I am pleased, not blown away. The are really good: a light cake with a heavy icing (but not overwhelming). I was disappointed with my red velvet cupcake because again, if it was cream cheese frosting, it didn't taste like it and overall it was a let down.
