First time in here. Cool setting. No TV's but who cares. Went in for lunch so no beers but had a decent, better than average selection. I had the OT sandwich, which was real good. Can't go wrong there and the side of tots were money. I'd recommend to stop in for a bite to try it out. read more

We've lived in Oberlin for about 10 years, and The Feve is our #1 restaurant choice of all time. The staff, the menu selection/prices, and the food can't be beat. I love that you can get chicken or tofu substituted for any meat item. My husband says the burgers are made with crack because they're so addictive, which are my thoughts exactly on the weekend brunch pancakes. No matter the flavor combo, they never, ever disappoint. When friends or family come to town, this is where we take them and when our customers at Swerve Bike Shop (directly across the street) ask where to eat, we always recommend Feve first. read more

First of all, as they acknowledge, this place is not wheelchair accessible. Hoisting myself up the one step from the ground entrance without even a handrail puts me in a bad mood, so my opinion might be clouded by that experience. Once you do make it in, there is no bathroom on the ground floor, so plan ahead if you don't do stairs. Inaccessibility aside, my experiences here have been mixed. The chicken wings are the best, well done so they're crispy, not all fatty like at some places, and the sauces I tried were all delicious. Fish sandwich was great, and hummous was delicious, although probably not completely authentic, which I just say because it was a little different from the hummous I've had at Mideastern restaurants. On the down side, when we ate here at the beginning of the school year in late August, there were some flies buzzing around, which put me off somewhat The hamburger included some kind of flavoring pre-mixed in the meat, which made it too salty for my taste. Bottom line: probably worth trying after fly season as long as you don't have mobility problems, not worth it if you do. read more

Service is not very good. Often slow and not attentive. When walking in, you will often stand around for 5 minutes or so making moments of eye-contact with a server/bartender wondering why you haven't been approached/seated yet. Food makes up for it. Love this place. Great atmosphere, ever changing beer selections, good food. Extra special in warm weather when they open the front windows. Nice crowd with a real eclectic mix. Good place for meeting friends or just enjoying a quiet meal at the bar. The upstairs is very nice as well and if you haven't ventured up there, give it a try. Basement bathrooms could use some updating, but really the only quibble. Great place with great local flavor. read more

Extremely rude service. Wings were brought to our table. After several minutes we realized we hadn't ordered them. After trying to get a waiters attention, we gave up and decided to dig in. After finishing them, one waiter (a skinny, bald man) ran up with an accusatory "Why are you eating those?!" After explaining what had happened, and trying to avoid a situation, I said I'd pay for them (and did). Regardless, he continued to yell at my table, loudly in front of the entire restaurant, accusing me of "stealing." Highly unprofessional. Being forced to pay for a restaurant's mistake is one thing, but being chastised after paying for said mistake? Ridiculous. It's really too bad, all 5 of my friends and I were all so thrown/embarrassed-- we will not be coming back. read more

It was a lot nicer in the 90's but I guess everything changes. What once was a solid coffee shop that still created thier own drinks has now become a gastropub. Hardly a vegetarian menu which I found quite odd for its location in Oberlin. Time marches on.... read more

Nothing fancy, but very good food, great service, comfortable vibe. Nice menu of beers, including three selections of one of my favorites: Sam Smith. What a great find. The sandwiches we had were great twists on old favorites - the cuban sandwich and the buffalo shishtawook. The tater tots were also out of this world. We made these selections by asking our server his favorites, and he was a great resource. And all for a reasonable price and neat ambiance. Came during happy hour I love the atmosphere! Glad I trudged through rain and farmlands get here lol. Very quaint place with modern hipsterish decor. Ordered the Feve Burger with tots (Omg awesome) and well drinks were a dollar off so happy camper :). Service was quick and friendly. People were even friendlier. Oberlin students and residents have pretty limited choices as far as drinking/pub-grub establishments go, but luckily those choices include The Feve. This place is hands down one of the best bars I've ever been to. Downstairs is a full wait-service restaurant featuring sandwiches, burgers, a good weekend-brunch menu, and tater tots known to most anyone who has spent time in Oberlin. The food is simple, but well-prepared and made with high quality ingredients. Be sure to try the hummus, which is rich and slightly tangy. Upstairs is a bar that I think does almost everything right. The bartenders are quick, mix well, and play good music about 85% of the time. They usually have 8 or 9 beers on tap, including several local beers that rotate around. There's also a big fridge with a decent variety of cans and bottles, from $1 PBRs to good domestic IPAs. Weekly specials are mostly good, including $4 wings on Tuesday and an absurd Friday happy hour with $1 well drinks and $2 drafts (be prepared for crowds after 6pm). Skip Long Island night on Wednesdays. An integral part of my time at Oberlin. read more
